Can we all just agree that at the very least, now that Metroid got a new character, DK's been in dire need of at least 1 more new character since Brawl?

Can DK get three newcomers?

Seriously.

K. Rool as a fully unique moveset.
Dixie as a semi-clone in the vein of Dr. Mario or Wolf.
Funky as a DK echo with surfboard taunts, final smash, entry and victory poses.

Yet to this day people are still pushing for miscellaneous characters like Geno, Isaac, and King K. Rool despite similarly having their "opportunity closed".

People will defy odds just for the sake of getting characters they actually want. When they don't want a character they'll quickly abandon it, which is what you see with a lot of Zelda characters.

Except to this day there's still people campaigning for skull kid, midna, ganon, tetra, ghirahim etc. And I don't see anything wrong with waning a zelda character regardless of who it is, I love Zelda and so many of it's characters, i'll take any of the ****ers at this point

I'll give it credit; the durability mechanic was nice and all, but, besides being an open-qorld game which we were expecting, the voices, and that mechanic, what else was there that was new?

He could have an AT functioning like Waluigi's where he shovels the dirt at your feet to bury you and then whacks you with his shovel, except this would be similar to a charged Smash Attack opposed to a repeated jab with a finisher.

I kinda just want to root for Revali and Skull Kid as potential newcomers without being told I'm just "repping" for all that flavour of the day rubbish. I'm loyal to the characters I want in the game as I've been part of the group requesting Isaac since Brawl and I think I'm entitled to wanting a new character from Zelda, no matter who it may be, as it's all part of the fun of speculation.

That's just gatekeeping. You're not the one who decides who really wants something.

There are tons of characters I've wanted but don't regularly bring up because their odds are so low that hoping for them is fruitless. It doesn't mean I want them any less. Hell, Chrom is the biggest example for me. Because at the end of the day, this thread is about speculation more than wish listing. Half the time when something is brought up here that isn't seen as likely, it gets little to no response. The other half of the time, it lasts a little while before someone comes in saying something along the lines of "why are we wasting our time discussing this?" because they're too focused on what's likely.

People realize certain characters have more volatile odds. It's a now or never thing. So if they pass their age of relevance, they don't bring them up because no one is willing to discuss them. It doesn't make them any less of fans than people actively campaigning while pretending it'll make a difference.

That is heavily opinionated. DK doesn't "need" a new character any more than any other franchise.

I'd love me an ED rep, there is so much potential from one game alone, Either Alexander Roivas or Pious Agustus would be perfect. plus the weapons you get as well as the magic spells you can use would make for an interesting playstyle.

Yeah. They even renewed the trademark a few years ago. I'd rather Fatal Frame be the horror rep because it's (presumably) still an ongoing series, but Eternal Darkness would be nice too. I don't believe there's any Smash content yet for ED, but there are trophies for FF.

I have gone from predicting weirdos in the beginning of Smash 4 to Smash Ultimate speculation from Prince Sable to Harry the Teleroboxer to Kawashima to Hanafuda to Bayonetta to Sora to frigging Leon Kennedy. I think I am going insane, yet I feel very firm about my Ultimate newcomer predictions. Speculation is a wildly fun ride.

Wario too, in my opinion. Wario Ware specifically has had a new game on every single new Nintendo hardware, both handheld and console, since 2003. Wario Ware Gold is just on the horizon for the 3DS and, like Animal Crossing, it's honestly just a matter of time for a Switch game.

Are you sure Silicon Knights owns it? Nintendo owns the trademark at least as recently as 2017 according to GameInformer.
