Random thoughts that have piled up in my mind

- Where is Nabbit?

- Are Captain Toad and Toadette considered to be their own characters like Yoshi?

- Where is Flying Man?

- Where is Duster?

- I like that we are now acknowledging clones are clones and are not a part of the official count "free dessert" making them more interesting. Hopefully everyone is like Daisy and is a meaningful remix.

-Take are a hard look at the Mii Costumes based on preexisting characters If they have not been disconfirmed as an Assist Trophy they are viable.

- Impa would be great and so would Skull Kid or Tingle or all of them, design and appearance don't really matter when it comes to Zelda, has been given moves and changed over and over, and she has her own final smash now.

- Where is Skull Kid?

-Where is Tingle?

-BWD should be a character through a villain for the series is unclear unless we just say and call it a day.

- New smash is the best thing he's gotten also the cross up with Gordo is amazing

- Rex& Pyra and Elma should both be in.

- Pikmin has a lot of characters I just noticed... like any captain or the plasma wraith are viable.

- Nabbit is probobly not shown yet, as we have been confirmed Hazard Toggle.
- Yes, they are. The question is rather, is Toadette the common names of all female Toads?

- No info concerning Duester is available at this point, but the inclusion of Kumatora and Boney could hint for Duester to be one of the new Assist Trophies.
- True, about time. This could give us Octolings as most likely. Look forward to Octoling Expansion release date and Smash. EDIT: Which apparantly is out, so, uhm ... I still hope for the Octolings.
- Fair enough, but that could also go the other way around. See Isaac and Ray for Smash 4.
- Sheik's new final smash goes well for Impa being an Echo fighter, I'll give her that much.
- Most likely in developement as returning AT.
- While I would say the same as Skull Kid. The Squid Sisters sort of got one of Tingle's gimmick, so I guess they need more time to tweek him for AT role update, but everything is up in the air, just as Skull Kid, for now.
- If Sakurai has something to say, you will never see a villain from the Kirby series. Even the likes of Marx and Nightmare would have been turned into good guys.
- IMO the best final smash he has had thus far.
- One for the base roster, the other DLC, could happen. Both are deserving, yes.
- With Alph just being a costume, I doubt they will focus on another captain at this point. Plasma Wraith must have done well on the Ballot, or I'd say he is impossible.

I highly doubt Nintendo wouldn't allow the devs to take voice clips of Bowser, DK, and Diddy from the Mario games.

What characters are people here most excited to try when the game comes out? I've been thinking lately that I might finally step away from Wario come this game as my main; I've been playing him for a decade now and kind of want to try something new. I'm leaning towards potentially becoming an Inkling or Ganon main right now, but that could change come launch.

I'm wholly dedicated to Fox, so I'll be playing him probably exclusively for some time after launch. I'll definitely be playing my old secondaries (Mewtwo, Ness, Robin, Pit, Olimar) for a bit as well.

And besides, it's now my responsibility to show everyone that Fox isn't as bad as everyone is saying.

It's not that unheard of for Nintendo to reuse voice clips though. This is especially true in the case of Rosalina, where a lot of her spin-off appearances after Mario Kart 8 have her reusing Laura Faye Smith's voice portrayal of her.

In fact, if Takashi Nagasako is truly voicing Ganondorf again, then there's no real excuse as to why his voice portrayal of Donkey Kong can't be used.

In most Mario games where she appears, isn’t Toadette the only female Toad in the entire universe? There are spinoffs with female Toads, but those seem to be no longer canon (if anything can be said to be canon in Mario, but yeah.)

I am 100% banking on a Smash Direct in November with a test fire tournament announced for the following week. They've pretty much been doing it with all of their major multiplayer games, and I see no reason why they'll stop now when it's worked well so far. Especially when this game (and Pokemon) are what they're relying on to sell systems this year.

Like Hades is a funny character, but it's limited how much that would shine through on a fighter since his humor is mostly from talking. His moveset potential is also pretty mediocre, pretty much being Falcondorf + Beam/projectiles.

Would like him as an Assist or part of a stage, but he just completely bores me as a character choice.

I disagree with you on the "easily" part. Also, visual weapons on her design was pretty important on her movement for Palutena and sets her apart from Zelda, so there's also that.

Dark Samus is a notable emission from both alt costumes and assist trophies, forgot to mention omissions and a few assist trophies

Nowadays Sakurai seems to prefer having playable fighters stick as close to source material as possible, so making up stuff is pretty much off the table now.

Palutena at least had the powers (which was really obvious in hindsight), And she still fights the way you think she would play. But Hades's non-specific potential is pretty generic Darkness/death stuff. His potential only lends itself to Falcondorf and/or a "Bullet Hell" design. That's the way he fight in his game.

Someone brought up a while ago that Dark Samus might still be an assist trophy and that that palette could have been removed since Assists are able to be KO’d and attacked. It is feasible I suppose that having the two of them running around could be confusing. I’d still like playable DS, and we now have two variations of Ike that could be mixed up, but it’s any sort of an explanation.

Doesn't really work, a defining trait of echos are shared stats. so he can't be heavier.
