Smash Switch Most Wanted Newcomer Bracket Challenge (Third-Party)- Game Over; Results Posted

Shoot! The four I was actually rooting for were Isaac, Rex and Pyra, Geno, and, to a lesser extent, Ashley. Down from four to one, but Isaac was the one I wanted most of the choices anyways, so-

Game 1: 1. King K. Rool (I don’t adore either of the choices myself, but K. Rool has a passionate following, and I think he’s overdue for Smash.)

Game 2: 1. Decidueye (Waluigi is a funny pick, but between the two, I’d prefer Decidueye.)

Game 3: 2. Isaac (Protagonist of one of my favorite GBA games, and he’s been one of my most-wanted newcomers for a long time. He doesn’t stand a chance this round, but hey, we can try!)

Game 4: 2. Dixie Kong (Don’t really think Bandana Dee is a good pick myself, so the only other option is Dixie.)

Forgot about the past 2 rounds, but here are my round 4 picks!

Game 1:. King K. Rool vs Ganon (As much as I want Ganondorf to be revamped, I think that we need more villain characters and King K. Rool would be a great addition to the villain roster. Even though he is lacking in relevance, he is saved by the fact that he was probably one of the most voted for in the ballot.)
Game 2: Lyn vs Skull Kid (I really like Lyn, I really do. I wish Lyn was in Smash 4 instead of Lucina too, but the fact of the matter is that there is an over-saturation of FE characters in Smash. Skull Kid may be lacking in relevance to some extent, but we need more villains and a new Zelda rep as well.)
Game 3: Marx vs Isaac (Isaac is a great choice, but come on... MARX.)
Game 4: Bandana Dee vs Ashley (Not really familiar with the Wario Ware series and Kirby is my favorite Nintendo franchise so you already know where this is going. Plus Bandana Dee has been overdue since the last game.)

Game 1: 2. Takamaru
K. Rool has more popularity and being DK's Bowser means he probably deserves to be in Smash more, but this thread isn't about who should be in the game it's about who I want in the game. I'm one of 12 people who has actually played Mysterious Murasame Castle and Captain Rainbow and I love Takamaru in both. On the other hand, I have played every mainline DK game and while K. Rool is cool I never got super attached like the other people on Smashboards.

Game 2: 1. Decidueye
Meh, I don't really care for either choice but I'll take the bird because it at least he was in a game outside of mini-game collections and sports titles. If Waluigi ever does something in an actual game sure he can join until then I'd rather leave him to be the meme he is.

Game 3: 2. Isaac
Another case of want superseding worthiness. Isaac is my number one Nintendo character I want in Smash. Also, I like Golden Sun more than Metroid and I freaking love Metroid. Hopefully, we will get both characters in this game but if not, I'd choose Isaac every time.

Game 4: 2. Dixie Kong
Another case of not caring about either choice but Kirby already has it's big three in Smash so might as well let DK have another character.

Game 2: 2. Waluigi (He's long overdue for Smash seriously. Plus I've grown to like his character for some reason.)
Game 3: 1. Ridley (Isaac is long overdue, but the truth is... I just like dragons too much to let Ridley slide and HE'S A VILLAIN and a new Metroid rep.)
Game 4: 1. Bandana Dee (Yes.)

Would really rather wait to see if Decidueye is a character with actually enduring popularity or just a bandwagon pick. I like its design but Smash characters should stand the test of time (lookin’ at you, Corrin)

Sorry big guy, Isaac would simply have a better moveset.
Game 4: Bandana Dee
The toughest pick, so I just went for cuteness.

Decidueye is great, but Waluigi has won me over, but it isn't easy picking one here.
Game 3. Isaac
I didn't have an extremely large amount of characters I wanted in 4, but a lot of them still got in except Isaac. More GBA rep and Golden Sun is a franchise I want to try eventually.
Game 4. Bandana Waddle Dee
Both Bandana Waddle Dee and Dixie Kong are characters who I think should be in as far as relevance to their respective franchises goes, and I pick Bandana Waddle Dee because I really like him. He also uses a spear.

Game 1: 1. King K. Rool vs. 2. Takamaru

Actually tough cause Takamaru would be a cool new series rep, and a retro one at that. The King gets this one though.

Game 2: 1. Decidueye vs. 2. Waluigi

Decidueye is a Grass-type final evolution, first ghost type Pokémon, an archer, great design and Rowlet was my Moon starter. Waluigi is a spin-off rep who’s never been in a main series Mario game and doesn’t have much move set potential imo. Also he killed off my most wanted Rex & Pyra. Screw you Waluigi.

Game 3: 1. Ridley vs. 2. Isaac

New series rep, great moveset (though Ridley has potential too I guess) and he isn’t too big. I’d like Ridley too but ultimately Super Smash Flash 2’s SSB take on Isaac says this one for me. Also I might as well help the Isaac crowd seeing as Ridley’s probably going to win.

Game 4: 1. Bandana Dee vs 2. Dixie Kong

Why oh why is there 2 DK reps in the quarterfinals. F*** off Dixie, I already picked K. Rool.
Then again, Bandanna Dee beats almost anyone for me anyway.

Of the characters left, I’d like to see Bandanna Dee beating Decidueye in the final but I’ve a bad feeling Ridley might get there instead.

Geez...this one is literally a 50/50 for me. Both of these carry equal weight in terms of series importance and need. I'll just go with Bandana Dee then.

Well, Captain Toad actually did far far better than I was expecting against Takamaru, so I'm not that disappointed. Impa stood no chance, and I'm just glad Dee and Dixie beat their competition...even though they're up against one another now, crud.

K. Rool vs. Takamaru: Okay, I don't really care for either of these guys, but I honestly think K. Rool's far more interesting than a generic samurai.

Waluigi vs. Decidueye: Flavour of the month Pokemon vs. second most desired Mario newcomer, yup. Waluigi gets it.

Ridley vs. Isaac: My sister is a huge Golden Sun fan and between the two I think Isaac would be more fun to play as with his bizarre adept abilities.

Dixie vs. Bandana Dee: What a Sophie's choice. Technically I like them about the same, but I think Dixie as a protagonist of her own game in DKC3 should take precedence over the player 4 of Kirby(or Player 2 if Rainbow Curse)

Game 1: King K Rool - the more interesting pick than another primarily sword user

Game 2: Decidueye - tough choice here but I think moveset wise, Decidueye would be more interesting, even if Waluigi would be pretty jokes.

Game 3: Ridley - tough choice again but Ridley's the more relevant character especially with Metroid prime 4 on the way and I think he would bring more variety moveset wise to the smash roster than Isaac.

Game 4: Dixie Kong - DK deserves more reps than Kirby considering the franchise sales (http://vgsales.wikia.com/wiki/Best_selling_Nintendo_games). Besides, I think Bandana Dee would be a pretty bland character to include and would just feel like Kirby with a spear without inhale. If you want spear/ naginata users in smash then there are better, more interesting candidates...

Game 2: 1. Decidueye (A very tough choice. I went with the ghost bird sniper mon because I think his moveset would be a blast. Really down for a proper archer.)

Game 3: 1. Ridley (No contest. Sorry Isaac.)

Game 4: Dixie Kong (Another toughie. But I have fond memories of DKC 2 & 3, so Dixie pulls ahead.)

Toughest choice so far, since I love and want them both. Ultimately though, Decidueye is my fourth most wanted character while Waluigi is my fifth.

Earth powers are much more interesting to me, and I'm not big on Metroid.

Bandana Waddle Dee vs Dixie Kong
My preferred DK newcomer option.

RIP Isaac, you had a good run but you can't go against Ridley and make it out alive. Anyway, I mostly want Ridley for his fans and find Isaac's potential to be more appealing.

This is the easiest one since Dixie is not even in my top 10 while Dee is my 2nd most wanted. Pls Sakurai

I have this feeling that I'll be disappointed at the results.

Game 4: Dixie Kong
Dixie & the Dee serve the same kind of role, they're here to give player 3/4 their own interesting character instead of some palette swap DK/Kirby, both have their fans and they're both relevant, in the end I just decided to pick the one who's been here longer.

Game 1: 2. Takamaru - I've changed my mind on this guy, I kinda want him quite a bit now. Plus, he represents a series without any characters, so he slightly edges out K. Rool for me.
Game 2: 1. Decidueye - I don't actively want either of these characters, so it could go either way for me. I know some people who want Decidueye though, so I'm going with Decidueye for them.
Game 3: 2. Isaac - It's painful to vote against Ridley, but Isaac is my boy. I'm thirsty for Golden Sun representation of any kind besides just music in Smash.

No comment. Just want K. Rool more, though both are strong choices.
Game 2: 2. Waluigi
This was a tough choice. I want both. What it came down to is that I'll probably mostly move on from Decidueye if he doesn't get in, even though his moveset has more potential, while I'll still want Waluigi. Waluigi is a fully realized character I will want to play as because he's Waluigi, while Decidueye is just "cool".
Game 3: 2. Isaac
Ridley might deserve it more, but I want Golden Sun love. Not to mention, I think Isaac would play much more interestingly.
Game 4: 2. Dixie Kong
Another difficult one. Both are deserving, relevant, would have ok-but-not-great movesets, and are my second most wanted newcomer from their respective series. What it comes down to in this case is that I think Dixie is ultimately more iconic and deserves the spot more for now.

Yep! Can't promise that it will be done as soon as this game finishes, though. I have more than 32 I want in the bracket, but thinking up 64 characters is pretty difficult. If anyone has suggestions, give me a PM!
