I want Crash in Smash as badly as anyone, but Banjo deserves it more. Both K. Rool & Banjo are highest priority IMO then Rayman, Bomberman, Crash, Simon Belmont, Shovel Knight, (not sure who else would be in this league).

Didn't get a chance to vote in this. I would have voted for Banjo & Kazooie and Rayman in the final round though, so I'm glad they won.

Well, E3 happened and we didn't get any third-party newcomers revealed. Just the third party veterans are back and Bomberman is an Assist Trophy. We didn't get any information about Banjo, Crash, Rayman or Shovel Knight. Well, it's not like a fan tournament would influence the game's development.

According to Vergeben, Simon Belmont is still happening. If true, I could see Simon announced at either a regular Nintendo Direct or a Smash Bros. Direct in the fall.

I'm thinking that any other potential third party characters, like Rayman and Banjo, are probably better off as DLC.
