I said major limit. If it was all cherry picking, Miis would be broken, and that would ruin all balancing properties that Sakurai wanted to implement in the first place. Of course, Id much rather have the Miis just have one unique move set and be done with it.Opening up customization would only result in the cherrypicking of the best moves for competitive play, and no items, Mii only, Final Destination gameplay. I'd much prefer a general balancing of the others, and no customizable character whatsoever. If Mii's were given their own moveset they'd be far more justifiable, though they're still not my cup of tea. Still, if some people are fond of them I guess I see the desire.
Still, liked EmberstoAshes just said, just look how graphically outdated they would be compared to everyone else. And I still don't like how they have circles for hands and feet.
Mii have limbs most of the time.
Nintendo Land has a rather soft palette and a much rounder feel to it - it was designed for Mii integration at its core. The Mii fits Nintendo Land because Nintendo Land was built around the Mii. SSB is a pre-existing series with a very different art style that I personally just don't feel the Mii gels with. There's absolutely no detailing to the avatars and there's bugger all they can do to make them look much less trashy than they do. They're a fine stand in for the games they're a prominent part in - I just don't think they're a good fit for SSB.Miis look fine graphically in Nintendo Land. It's not like this game is as detail-oriented in its characters as Brawl was anyway.
Considering they would probably look like this... (graphically, not costume wise)But the question is, can you truly say you'd enjoy seeing THAT fight alongside any of the characters currently in the game? It feels like they'd detract terribly from all of the graphical improvements.

Um, duh. How else do you think you play as Wii Fit Trainer?I hope they announce Wii Balance Board control options for Smash 4.

The difference is Ridley has seen considerably graphical upgrading throughout the years. The Mii's look a little glossier around the edges and are shoehorned into varying suits depending upon the game. The Mii's themselves have had very little done to them since their conception.Considering they would probably look like this... (graphically, not costume wise)
Yeah.
The picture was from 2006. Of course they will look better.
THE PICTURE IS FROM 2006!!!
My gosh!
I guess we can't have Ridley because 2010 graphics are too outdated!
Honestly...

EDIT:
Besides!
He meant the other picture.Nintendo Land is 2012
Oh geez. Its all about the faces. So Mario Kart online had Hitlers everywhere? I dont remember seeing one Hitler online.Oh, and another complaint about Miis, I don't want to see a bunch of **** faces and Hitlers online either -.-
You mean, the very first Mii?He meant the other picture.
I meant the original default Mii picture.Nintendo Land is 2012
Never happend in Mario Kart or any other online game.Oh, and another complaint about Miis, I don't want to see a bunch of **** faces and Hitlers online either -.-

Yeah, that one.You mean, the very first Mii?
I've seen my fair share of **** faced Miis and Hitlers online actually. Only reason why there wasn't more of them is due to Funky + Flame Runner. If Miis ended up broken with a custom movesets...expect those faces all day long online.Oh geez. Its all about the faces. So Mario Kart online had Hitlers everywhere? Ok, yeah I know which one.I meant the original default Mii picture.

Won't happen now.
Unless you're implying a lot of things about the Smash fanbase.
You're ignoring the point made rather than actually formulating a worthwhile argument. Mario is incomparable considering you're trying to form a correlation between my point and an ancient Mario sprite. Seriously. All I'm saying is the Mii's as characters have no personality of their own to speak of, no particular moveset within their games that other characters/items don't already perform (baseball bat, boxing gloves, all of Nintendo Land...) and look goddawful when compared to every other character on the roster. They are detailess avatars and in my opinion don't gel with any of the current art style, and with no actual personality to root for I can't see any redeemable qualities. You guys Mario doesn't hold up graphically, he can't be in Smash.
You are quite literally the first person I have seen that actually had that problem.I've seen my fair share of **** faced Miis and Hitlers online actually. Only reason why there wasn't more of them is due to Funky + Flame Runner. If Miis ended up broken with a custom movesets...expect those faces all day long online.
Personally, I think the rumor is false. It's improbable, but I think the dude saw the trailer early. Guessed Little Mac because of the boxing ring, Pac-Man because Namco is involved, and Mii because Nintendo tends to shove them in the crevasse of every game they make.Whether we like it or not, Miis are happening. This direct would be a perfect time for such a reveal too. However, I think this direct will highlight the games key differentiator, akin to Mario Kart 8's gravity gimmick. Although not as extreme, I wager it'll reveal new gameplay mechanics we have even yet to conjure.
Also, if Miis aren't in, I'll be delighted to see that "Leaky 3" rumor lay to rest (Do not reply to this and argue with me, not the place for it.). But also because they are so bland. But they are a big part of Nintendo History, so there's that.
As far as avatars go, we've got one in already in the form of Villager, and thankfully he's got a nice unique little moveset by the looks. If the Mii's were to join him that's two player-substitutes - characters with no established personality but what you choose to make them. Consider then the WFT's lack of personality (and I like the WFT, and her moveset, but again she's not a 'character' per-se) and I begin to question why we'd not just miss the Mii's entirely in place of an extra fan favourite. As aforementioned, oversaturation could also be a problem online - nobody wants to fight Mii's all day long.Really, most of the arguments against Mii I see are incredibly biased and don't actually make good points.
There's like two I've seen that stand up.
1. Sakurai viewing them as concepts according to a past interview (though that could easily change)
2. Possible Lack of Identity (Even then, it's a bit relative)
Look, do I want Miis?
Uh... Kinda? I want lots of other character more.
In the end I don't really care, but stupid and biased logic irritates me.
I was making fun of those saying the Mii looks terrible graphically and using a picture from 2006 as proof. You're ignoring the point made rather than actually formulating a worthwhile argument. You know, I don't have anything against Miis in Smash, and I don't like it when people say they shouldn't be in, but I gotta admit, that line was pretty good. Not saying Mii's are gay, but if you are a Mii, you seem like the type of person who likes to please other men sexually.
I'm going to play as the Mii so that I can beat you offNot saying Mii's are gay, but if you are a Mii, you seem like the type of person who likes to please other men sexually.
Call me even crazier. My only real beef with the mii's, and pacman to a much lesser extent, is that many have just accepted them as an inevitability for so long. Pretty much accepting them as fact, when I don't think any newcomer should be seen as that until we know for sure.
I would hope if the mii is in, that they would save it for E3 to be among multiple reveals since a direct aimed at us isn't quite the right place for it IMO.
Pretty much how I feel.Honestly, most arguments explaining why Miis won't/can't/shouldn't be included are not really that sound. You guys are missing the biggest issue with them. I strongly believe that they would over-saturate the online community, to the point where all of the other unique, interesting characters the team worked so hard on will almost never be used.
I've said this before, and I'm going to say it until those guys are either confirmed, or deconfirmed.
