To give a general idea of how much DI affects the percents, I tested Dsmash at FD edge in training mode with correct DI. I SDId the entire Dsmash up as well.

dsmash KOs eariler than I expected. But that is probably because mine is never fresh. I had never really tried edgeguarding with nair, but looking at the percentages I might mix more nair edgeguards into my game.
Good work btw joseph and T_W

Curious, I didn't know the dsmash was stronger then a strong nair but even so I think dsmash is more DIable then Nair so it might not make a difference

Do fair as well please, sweet spot bair, and the "stomp" one as well if you can :3

edit: Small question did you do your testing in VS or training mode?

Training mode, on a level 9 set to stop. I forget to put that in the op
So yeah, the percents are a lower than what it will actually be thanks to cpu di and training mode dealing less knockback

Also even on stop the computer DI a little but whatever it doesn't really matter anyways. I mean we aren't talking about killing % with DI here.

edit: ah, I didn't read your post well enough you did mention cpu di. My bad, sleepy johns.

He said training mode so of course its fresh and he said not with DI, I guess do these 20%s later and you'll get the kill on someone who has mediocore DI

Yeah I would test with DI but its tough to when you have to switch between controllers

Edit: I added the finished percents for Fsmash and Nair as well as Dsmash with DI for 3 chars. I will not do any more chars for that, it was just to give an idea of the percent difference between CPU and human.

generally i kill lightweights at 120~140

mid weights around 150~160

heavyweights i dont care if they go to 200% before they die, they hardly damage me anyway (wario is another story... good thing i can grab release usmash him if i get lucky. otherwise i kill warios at like 170 with either sweetspot bair or uair)

i usually get all my kills from aerial edgeguards

dacus and usmash in general for me are very rare

i hardly even use dsmash anymore

no

i usually play it safe

trust me i have gotten snake to 200 while taking 30 damage

thats just how i play

i bring ddd to like 140 then transform, sometimes as zelda i take too much damage

so sometimes i just stay sheik and get him to like 200 and kill him with fair

only taking like 40 damage or whatever

trust me sheik's speed allows that to happen

my kill percents are legit cuz i usually do it with fair

forced nairs are unsafe, sweetspot uairs and bairs are kinda hard to nail sometimes

yeah, doing this with sheik is sometimes needed once you leave ftilt into usmash realistic striking range and even if you’re in range if you haven't used the ftilt recently there's very little hope of pulling it off without having to depend upon your opponent to F up. Generally I think once your opponent is above 100% things are now greatly in their favor when you are using sheik because you cannot combo anymore ..usually.

edit: then depending on the weight class and if the chance present it's self you can go for the kill, at like 130-150-200% though.

Yo-howdy folks.

Um... this is so~ dependent on where you are on the stage like each small little bit effects the killing power of our (and any really) horizontal kill moves so so much with good DI. Just Up isn't always the best way to try for you should be aiming for the corners of the blast zone... Sometimes making a move go lower is going to save you even though it is traditionally a move that'll kill off the side.

So I say that to say this. you want to understand the killing power of these moves, it's not something you are going to be able to look at a paper an walk away with the fastest way to get it is from experince.

Okay.

Side Usmash? too good. kills way lower than fsmash and I think lower than nair as well. (dacus users know it right?) so don't ignore it as a killing punisher if aplicable when dsmash is an option. I used to do that.

I hope this is not a bad question but with the up smash and the down smash where they full changes version or just the non charges version.
