This is unrelated and probably nothing at all, but Bloodstained has teased a new playable character coming to the game, and in their road map infographic they list Wayforward along with the other teams involved.

Not expecting anything, but how cool would it be if they added Shantae to the game as thanks for all the Help WF put in to helping the game release on time?

But with the pace this thread goes, I think it's an inevitability that we will get there. I mean either Shantae get's announced for Smash right away and we will have plenty to talk about, or we don't find out if she is in or not till the end. In that case there is over a year left to talk, so we should pass 36 pages by then.

Also, SomeCallMeJohnny did a video on Seven Sirens. I haven't seen it yet because of physical copy syndrome, but it's cool to see him cover it so soon after release.

Too bad he doesn't really like it much. He focuses more on what the game isn't than what it is and honest to god he actually descends into a ramble about the fusion dances, wishing that they were the instant moves instead of the animals. Pirate's Curse's story has spoiled him real bad.

Much of the stuff he grouses about is subjective or can be worked around, like the at face value lax difficulty when you can simply restrict yourself to not turn in any heart squids or eat food, like a Nuzlocke. To me this makes the game feel like a Kirby game; winning isn't hard for the most part, but pushing yourself to do so in the most efficient or unique ways possible is where the real fun lies.

Really, Shantae had her ups and downs with Pirate's Curse arguably being the best of the series. Still, Seven Sirens is a breath back to the Metroivania 2D style of exploring and collecting new items with backtracking.

It was so good, I did wanted to return playing the Metroid Prime Trilogy after so long. The feeling of discovering something before and after certain upgrades does give the achievement feeling.

And by every game, you mean one?

Every game besides Half-Genie Hero (to an extent) plays like a metroidvania, to an extent. Just changing the exact abilities and mechanics used doesn't really constitute a reinvention in my book.

Still, it's like saying Super Mario Sunshine is a reinvention of 64 because Mario changed his moveset to use FLUDD, even though the core gameplay is fundamentally the same as what came before.

I want a Sakurai solo direct at his house with a cameo from his cat. If there's no cat cameo it will immediately become the most disappointing showcase ever.

They'll find a way to give us the announcement this month. I don't think the anniversary date being this Tuesday has anything to do with it, but it'll happen sometime this month. I just hope Nintendo has something else to share other than an ARMS character for Smash and Paper Mario this Summer.

pretty sure we are getting smash news this month. I think this fighter shouldn't have been as effected by the virus as the next. we will get an announcment for a sakurai presents next week, and we will find out the arms rep.

Now, will they also include the trailer for the next, who most likely was planned to be shown at e3? who knows.

I saw PapaGenos speak about the rumor from insiders that the E3 reveal was originally supposed to be 3rd party. Wonder if they've had to alter that thanks to the pandemic or not.

Its possible depending on how much sakurai needed to keep in touch with the owner. I mean, I don't think Sakuari was in touch with microsoft much, and even with grant kirkhope, they only just sent emails one in awhile

You know, I hope the toxicity of western Smash Fans doesn't sour the relationship between Sakurai and the West as a whole.
And I hope he didn't forget about the kindness of King K. Rool fans, who collectively thanked Sakurai for bringing K Rool back.

If Sakurai decides to ignore western wishes from now on...
That might be one thing that could prevent Shantae from getting in.
And it'd be the Smash fanbase's own fault.

Seriously hope this is not the case.
But part of me wonders what Sakurai thinks of the West, especially after how outspoken he was recently on how much the western fanbase burns him out.

There's liking something a lot and then there's obsession to the point you're intentionally harassing. This is where I believe it's nobody but trolls and not actual fans of the character they claim to wanting "very, very badly." I see this happen with Ed Boon on Twitter too. Because the Mileena character is trending as so many want to see her return in MK11, you get obnoxious people coming in claiming they're Mileena fans also but really just want to annoy everyone be it randomly blurting "Mileena when?!" at the worst possible moments or posting random K-POP videos set on autoplay.
