Sabi's NoA source I think knew about Banjo & Kazooie as early as last November, while the whole discord didn't find out until April 2 months in advance from their reveal.

Banjo was not the best kept secret, as was Hero. Joker and Terry though seemed to have very few insiders knowing about them. I think if snk didnt get leaked less would have known too. She really reimu or shantae or anyone not having many voices inside arent hurt

I guess. But are we really in any position to say they didn't know anything about these characters when most of us didn't know anything at all but the speculation talk going on in the chambers?

I don't remember. But the thing is: none of the insiders or credible leakers don't know the full list of characters that get into the game. Just because they didn't know about a certain character or dozen, that ruin their credibility as it would be impossible to have all that information unless you were Sakurai himself or the CEO of NoJ.

I think it's a more of a matter of audience when it comes to winning, which is something Smash also has a great supply of.

And smash is drawing in more people with more new challengers coming. (Even after Fighters Pass, there is still more DLC to come.) Sakurai is wanting to make this game the best for everyone for new and old players to play for years to come. Regarding limitations that are made by sterotypes and/or opinions to trigger people.

So while Reimu appears to be out of luck for FP5, Lloyd is still free game.

Don't hate me for saying this, but nothing about him strikes me as interesting. In comparison to someone like Isaac, he appears to be boring in terms of what he can do. He doesn't come across as someone I imagine being fun to play as.

Seems like another input character, though with two swords. But if that means being as fluid as Blazblue's Nu in the Project M mod, then that combined with the 3 levels of Artes might make for an interesting enough fighter.

Could also have Colette and/or Genis do a Tag Team mechanic or give him one 25% healing potion or something every stock.

Quote can get extra air if a "rocket launching" mechanic is used. Piranha Plant has moves. Something like Goomba, even, could borrow from Paper Mario. There's very little standing in "boring" characters' way using imagination.

Now that does seem like something WF would do, particularly if they make the Smash amiibo unlock something they add to SatSS later. Although the amiibo unlock would be kinda 'meh' if they did that so that the other platforms' customers don't feel left out.

At the same time, these are the same people who threw a hissy fit over Rocket League beating Undertale. They have already proven themselves to be not only short tempered, but also petty beyond reason. Like I said, I only voted for Shantae over there to "humor" them, since it will only be sweeter to see them lose their minds when she does get included.

As well, I am getting admittedly ticked off with some people (still) hating Shovel Knight and/or Steve for no other reason than the loudest vocal minority trashing Shantae for them. Sure, they're rivals to her, but they have done nothing more than what she has done herself: given us all damn good games. Shovel Knight is a damn good 2D platformer. Minecraft is a damn good 3D action-adventure game and is still alive even after 10 years of life. I love these games because they have made an impact with what they've done, and I love the characters in their games, even if Steve is a blockhead avatar. They have legitimate reasons to want to see Shovel Knight or Steve decking it out with Mario and Co, very much the same reason that we want Shantae to make it.

As for Doomguy/Master Chief/the other blood and gore characters, they do have their merits, though could they be censored reasonably for Sakurai to allow them in? With Master Chief: Absolutely, just remove the blood, have him use more Covenant weaponry that fires plasma or shards instead of hard lead, and we have a reasonable inclusion into Smash! With Doomguy/Scorpion, etc. it's harder for either of them, but not necessarily impossible. (even with Scorpion, since he was a part of a T-Rated MK vs DC Universe game, so he's no stranger to his gore being turned down)

I am extremely surprised by that given how they top Square Enix characters of all generations on their site polls.
I'm also surprised anyone uses the darn site for forums and socialization, still.

Regardless, bias just comes with the territory. Each site has a lean. So, as painful as those interactions are, don't put too much stock into juvenile Keyboard Warriors/Bullies.

The idea of the Jins was cool as well. I believe they will come back into the fold of the series at some point. Hell, I kind of believe the final boss of Seven Sirens won't be one of the Sirens, but a Jin instead. I kind of believe this since the whole concept of Seven Sirens will be deeply more involved with the genie lore then the past games.

But yeah, if there's anything that could be crazier then the Pirate Master, it would be a Jin.

They could just have a DLC mini pack with the bonuses for other consoles, or available both ways so when the amiibo stock gets low it won't lock people out of the DLC. Personally, I'd love to just have access to any of the Smash amiibo for costumes.

Because how much fun would it be if we could play Ninja Shantae but with a Sheik costume? I mean, I'll take a generic single costume from each major franchise as is. But the hypothetical is fun. Any of them could get separate game modes, but even a genie-fied version of a character would be fun. Like Peach's hip fabric would work like Shantae's gold details into pink pants etc.
