They did, in fact it was Double Dragon Neon, a different Technos/ArcSys property. It ended up being incredibly niche with the extreme 80's tone and I honestly felt like it had a kinda slow pace but it had REALLY nice music.

If both Shantae 5 and River City Girls get coverage during say Nintendo's E3, imagine if we get like a little mini section of the diret dedicated to their new projects capped off by an afterwards Shantae Smash reveal.I wonder how that worked. All these cross country projects is actually great. Including Cadence of Hyrule and all, games like Shantae have more and more chance to cross with japanese companies
That and Kickstarter funds.
I'd be surprised if they show any attention towards their non-Shantae properties at this stage, nearly all of them will be nuked from the 3DS and Wii U e-shops are the rate things are going.
They just have to show the attention in Shantae games. At the very least Mighty Switch Force could co-exist with Shantae like Donkey Kong Country does with Mario. Imagine Patty & Gendarmor pulling over Dribble & Spitz in space to check for their Octablazooka licence.
Now that you mention it, Xtreme Sports could fit in a little easier, since at least Fin & Guppi are closer to Shantae, art-wise.
Well, it's already reality. Shantae races on magic carpets and Beach mode shows her dabbling in surfing.

How much like Genie, though? Shantae has a known inferiority complex about her half-status so I don't think she'd be comfortable hanging out with one for long (unless maybe it's her mother). If you just mean his personality and mannerisms though, a friendly Slimegal might do the trick with her shapeshifting abilities.
I just want to say that have mixed feelings about this post. On one hand I like that you incorporated monkey's paw(Because Genie's) and RWBY(Because Ruby icon), but on the other you reminded me of the Internets desire to lewd everything.

Really, the character is pulling what the Shantae mermaid enemy's do, in that they are exposed but have nothing lewd. Still, you would not probably want to pull up such characters during work, so I still kinda count it.

I guess she doesn't have your typical Genie wish rules(She can answer any 3 questions ever 100 years as long as it's not about the future), but she's tied to a lamp and is literally called Jinn, so I figured it counts.
