Well, would you look at that, Bloodstained might have a lower price than the average Switch game:

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/20...ight_physical_pricing_wont_include_switch_tax

Although I do wonder how much profit WF gets out of this game, since they're helping to make it.
That's maybe about what I'd expect for it. I wouldve liked even lower, but it depends how long the game is. I like metroidvanias so there's good chances I'll get it. September is a ways away tho.

You know what, I'm in the mood to talk a bit about Giga Mermaid.

Although it's possible she was conceived largely to just be attention-grabbing eye candy for Half-Genie Hero advertisements, given her relative lack of importance in the storyline, she nonetheless garners her fair share of fan-art (both examples above being yet more japanese work) and opened the floodgates, so to speak, of the various monster races being more than just violent obstacles in Shantae's path; the mermaids getting a reserve after Ammo Baron's defeat is particularly eye-opening. What are the odds of other long-standing races like nagas getting similar treatment, or at least the mermaids and/or Giga Mermaid returning Shantae's favour at some point?

I think that is very likely, especially after how how popular Giga Mermaid got. It might even be a way to give certain transformations more use.

You know, I can appreciate the fact that WF doesn't overextend itself and generally doesn't try to do big-budget 3-D platform games compared to what's been said here in the Geno thread in regards to SE:

It's because gaming culture has changed a lot and the company still acts like it's the late 90's/early 2000's. Game development has only gotten more expensive and more complicated but the company regularly insists on making massive games with cutting edge graphics and most companies can't handle this on a regular basis anymore. Disney can do this with movies because they regularly shatter records worldwide but sales for Square Enix games haven't been super impressive outside of Japan for a lot of there games for awhile now and they keep losing money because of it.

Not to mention that Tuki is an ally to start with.

Huh. Sounds interesting.
I have the feeling that "Shantae is not in Smash" is going to become a meme in due time.

Anyway, good to know. I wonder what it is? If it's Christina Vee announcing this, it has to be something voiced at least.

Could be a new game or another DLC campaign. Maybe something related to Indivisible.
Idk, I don't really get that feeling here. Wouldn't game stuff be hinted at by Wayforward, not Christina Vee? And Shantae stuff relating to Indivisible is not really a surprise. This feels like something else.

If only it was Shantae 5. I think it's way too soon for that though.
Could be another kickstarter campaigned game.

Honestly, by that logic, anything Shantae related should be hinted first by Wayforward. Unless it's something fan-made, I doubt Vee would know something they don't.

Could be anything that's not a Smash reveal.

That is true, but I see Vee hinting at this instead of Wayforward as very deliberate. There is association there. You begin to think of the news less as a new game or DLC and more as something pertaining to the characters we have come to be familiar with, especially Shantae and Risky. And is Vee knows of it, they must have need of new voice work from her.

And it could really be anything(Except Smash). Wayforward has certainly been expanding with the Shantae franchise and I am excited to see what is next. Maybe we could get a show? That has certainly been brought up in the community more than once.

The idea of Shantae being inspired by the monster girls she encounters to incorporate new moves in her transformations is one that's been in my mind for a while, though I still think making them more fluid to use for navigation like the Pirate Gear comes first.

That and you could possibly be able to interact with the creatures on more friendly terms if you are in their form and be able to go to places associated with said creatures. Kinda like monster towns or something.

I mean, it didn't hurt Ridley to become a meme. If anything all the attention it got probably helped him get in this time around.

Anyway, it will be interesting to find out what this is about. whatever it is I'm always happy to get more Shantae stuff.

Please let it be a new game.

Or maybe it's even an animesque spin-off show--

There was this new tweet by Vee.

Oh, what on Earth are we supposed to expect then, a cameo in Bloodstained? I'm not sure why she'd want to announce something potentially minor.

Shovel Knight has been playable in 3 fighting games while Shantae hasn't been playable in 1 yet. So maybe she will finally be in a indie fighting game like Brawlhalla or something else.

Now I think you're confusing it with Brawlout. Brawlhalla only has Shovel Knight skins and Rayman as a guest character.
And Brawlout has Yooka-Layette, Juan, Hyper Light Drifter, and I believe the guy from Dead Cells, but not Shovel Knight (I think one of the trailers teased that as well)

HOW DID IT GET THIS MANY LIKES?!?!
It might be for one of the indie crossover titles.
After thought edit: it could also a remake of the first shantae, as it would not technically be a new game.
I hope it’s that as well :)

Didn't WF folks at one point say they didn't feel the need to remake the first Shantae game since they consider it a masterpiece? Although some elements could use alterations (particularly Capcom's affinity for zoomed-in camera views in the GBC days), I'm not sure if that would be enough to justify changing their minds about leaving as it is. Well, that and whether they got enough extra funds for it.

I would be just as excited for a Shantae 1 remake as I would be for an announcement for Shantae 5. I really want to see the first game get a remake in the graphics and style of Half-Genie Hero.
