To get back on topic with Shantae, how many music tracks at bare minimum would you expect to come with her?

Joker came with 11 songs.
Hero came with 8 songs.
Banjo came with 10 songs.
Terry came with 50 songs.
Byleth came with 11 songs.
Min Min came with 18 songs.
Steve came with 7 songs.
And Sephiroth is unconfirmed.

Ignoring the outlier of Terry due to SNK’s crazy acceptance of their music in Smash, and Min Min as a secondary outlier due to being a Nintendo series (and unlike Byleth, came from a series with no music in the game yet so they wanted to add a lot more presumably, plus there would be much less legal negotiations required to deal with), every character got 7-11 songs.

I’d imagine somewhere in that ballpark.

I’m still hoping that if Shantae gets a stage, and the idea of her wave of Mii Costumes consists almost entirely of Deluxe Indie Miis, they let all the indie songs play on her stage as well like an Indie Hub.

Some possible candidates for indie deluxe mii costumes could be, Shovel Knight, Lilac (Freedom Planet), Freddy Fazbear, Bendy (Bendy and the Ink Machine), and Hollow Knight.

I was watching papa geno's stream and one of this commentators said Sephi was coming with 4 songs, but I don't remember where they said they found that info.

Sounds like speculation more than anything. Remember that songs in trailers don’t necessarily correlate to songs that the characters come with. Well you're not wrong.
It was the theme of the Final Boss in OG FF7 after all. And very deservedly so.

But yeah, I have no doubts this theme will make it into Smash.

A chance doesn't mean it'll happen. So long as you know the chance exists, you can be more hopeful. But it doesn't mean it'll happen at all, so you have to be ok with the character not making it.

As for mii costumes, I can totally see Tifa as a mii costume, but not Shantae. Not saying it's impossible, it could be, but it just wouldn't work well enough, she fights with her hair, and there's no mii costume that can really represent her well enough.
Plus I have a chibi Tifa keychain, and I think she looks fine and cute even if it's not the right proportions

I know some people don't think about the Smash Ballot anymore, but I think it's still a critical relevant piece in deciding newcomers in Ultimate right now. Shantae was one of the most popular Smash Ballot requests right up there with K. Rool, Banjo & Kazooie, Ridley, Shovel Knight, and Isaac. Hell, I would go as far to say Shantae might have been a slightly more popular request back then because of all the hype surrounding Pirate's Curse and Half-Genie Hero being on the horizon.

Sakurai said that Ridley, K. Rool, and the Belmont bois got in because of the Smash Ballot and I'm betting Banjo & Kazooie and Steve got in because of it as well. The negotiations between Nintendo and Microsoft to get Steve in Smash started around 2015 when the Smash Ballot was going on. The Smash Ballot is still important in the newcomer decisions to this day and that could be Shantae's key that get's her in. Anyone remember the geder option in the Smash Ballot that asked if you were a male or female? I do. That alone could give Shantae the extra push as not all but most of Shantae's fans are the female demographic and she was the most popular female requested in the Smash Ballot aside from Bayonetta.

I still believe the Smash Ballot will be the deciding factor that get's our girl in because lately she has been getting all of this merchandise and promotional push in theaters for Seven Seven. Plus WayForward didn't have to have to start a Kickstarter thing to get money to make Seven Sirens as they announce it out of nowhere. Where could they be getting all this money? Maybe Nintendo is helping them a bit because they're going to put Shantae in Smash. After all besides what I mentioned above, Seven Sirens is the best selling Shantae game of all time outselling all the previous titles combined I believe.

I really do believe Nintendo could be lending WayForward money as well as putting Shantae in Smash to make the franchise bigger and more globally known. I think Nintendo would do this since they allowed a Indie developer to make a Zelda game crossover. To me, them giving the Zelda license to a Indie developer seems way more farfetched than Shantae getting into Smash yet it happened.

Rex is basically the ARMS situation before Min Min, it would just seem cruel to not try to get him especially with what Sakurai mentioned way back when his mii costume was revealed

Crash is the last really big iconic platformer that people see as needing to be in Smash.

Shantae has that online icon that always bugged me, and the silence from Matt every time we get a chance to get an answer from him about Smash beyond her spirit inclusion.

I'm liking all the new speculation here. That's more like it. But now it's time to express my concerns:

What if Nintendo and Sakurai don't care about us? I know I have taken that 5chan leak too seriously, but I still have some concerns. I also keep getting the feeling that they have little regard for Shantae and won't do anything or just add a Mii Costume, which is very unlikely in my opinion, so we're only rounded down to doing nothing at all. Smash is severely lacking an indie representative, and while Reimu is very popular in Japan, she is nowhere near as popular as a Smash request, and she probably didn't reach high levels of popularity in the Smash Ballot. Plus Shantae is the most deserving indie character due to the fact that unlike other indies, she had to work very hard to get to where she is right now. Her game on GBC underperformed, and yet despite that, she came back many years later and thanks to Half-Genie Hero, her popularity had been growing significantly. A character who has achieved all of this deserves to be in Smash. Iwata and Reggie both wanted Nintendo to embrace indies, the latter even said at TGA 2020 that indie games are the most important games in the industry. Nintendo and Sakurai have to fully recognise Shantae's achievements and give her the victory she deserves. Her games on Nintendo platforms are also considered the best versions, and her series sold 3 million units.

I am hoping Shantae at least gets in as the ninth Fighter. The re-release of her first game has still went unreleased as of now, which is one piece of speculation I am holding onto.

Yeah, and we still don't know if FP2's big sales will encourage Nintendo to persuade Sak to change his mind about ending Ultimate's DLC after two batches.

Are we talking about the actual original version from the classic game or the Advent Children version used in the trailer? Hero had the orchestral version of Adventure playing in it but we only got MIDIs in the end. Wouldn't surprise me if legal red tape strikes again here.
