I don't know guys. A third Fighters Pass seems extremely unlikely. Masahiro Sakurai needs a break from all the hard work, and given this fact, he may just end it after Fighters Pass 2. I am also doubtful that we would get two Fighters from the same company in the same pass. I don't want to be Debbie Downer, but don't get your hopes up.

I agree that Sakurai deserves a long *** vacation as he has done enough for the fans. But Nintendo might be ***holes and force him to make more DLC after Fighter's Pass 2. Not saying it's going to happen, but I'm just throwing the idea out there.

It'd be interesting to see what happens to Geno. I personally don't have much of a connection with SMRPG, but I'm honestly pretty curious about how he'd play in Smash. And I still find it pretty interesting that Geno and Shantae got pretty similar treatment when the game launched, two spirits and an icon thingy.
It kind of made me feel like they were considered, but skipped in favor of others, or possibly held in reserve in case any negotiations for other characters fell through. But my gut feelings have never been right yet, so... I guess we'll have to wait and see... again...

I'm more concerned about Sakurai's health and well being than Fighter's Pass 3. But Nintendo probably doesn't.

I am sure nintendo cares too, but some of these creators push them selves way to hard despite their bosses saying to take it easy. Oda from one piece is an example. got so bad Jump FORCED him to take weeks off every month or so

(Edit: I reread what was said, and I see how someone could open it up with some leeway, but if there's nothing in development formore, it's pretty hard to get dlc after)

And also, geno's chances are virutally nill now. People can be hopefull, but I really don't think another SE character will show up with just 3 slots left, that'd be giving one company way too much. I love SE, but yeah I think just reasonable to think geno's either a mii costume or not in.

And after this year many fanbases will be in the same boat. Not everyone will get a shot. It sucks, but we'll get what we'll get. Hopefully something nice shows up in the next ones.

To be honest, after getting 3 out of my 5 most wanted K. Rool, Ridley, and Banjo & Kazooie who I waited for since Melee, really asking for more would be greedy as hell of me. I feel like I won the lottery in this game with just those 3 alone.

Honestly the dlc phase was pretty rough for me, but I was also going through a lot, so not getting much that made my day was not fun. I was glad to see Min Min for the arms character, but when you can't really get into the playstyle, it's hard to fully enjoy it XD

Anyway, I'm not as attached to smash now, but I'd love to see something interesting (to me personally)

Some of my more wanted that I thought had a chance are in my sig. I didn't put Tifa because I want Terra more, but I think now they have basically no chance, along others from SE, which has a lot of characters I like.

I'd really like to see a female character that has a fun playstyle I can get into, that's really a more general want.

If this is real, then it's time to pull back all our hopes for Smash. It seems like even the leaker is disappointed, given the fact that he says "it won't be pretty". I'm not sure what he means by "there won't be any promotions from Mii costumes", but I hope Shantae gets spared by it even if it means she isn't playable.

I think they mean it won't be pretty because in that list the last characters aren't popular ones. Touhou is big in japan though. And kos-mos is known in some gaming circle, but not a big hitter.

He also said that the lineup is trying way too hard to play to the crowd, implying that Sakurai and Nintendo are only caring about their Japanese fanbase with little regard to their Western fanbase. So this is it? After K. Rool, Ridley, Banjo and Steve, we're left with nothing but Reimu as our indie rep?

See, the problem with that thought is that they also said they had nothing planned after the first pass. Then they announced the second pass a few months after that.

If Nintendo wants it, it will happen. If anything, since Sakurai has said on multiple occasions wanting To make his last smash game and probably wanting to move to new projects, a third pass could possibly be handed off to an assistant director that Sakurai would want to test ‘passing the torch’ to.

Or it would just be Sakurai again, the man can’t stop working.

They didn't specifically say there were no other dlc after the 1st pass like they did for the second. Pretty sure it was mentioned so that no one get their hopes for a third.

Crash and KOS-MOS I can get behind! Reimu would be alright too, I suppose, even if I know nothing about her games. But I'm not gonna take this leak as gospel just cause it predicted Sephiroth. There are FAR too many Smash leaks that show up on sites like Reddit, 4chan, 5chan, GameFaqs, etc. that one of them is bound to get lucky with one listed character every now and then. It's just one of the reasons I take these things with a huge grain of salt, no matter how good they might look.

You're pretty new to the scene. 5chan is not unusual, it's a board in japan that's been used. And a lot is anonymous just like with 4chan. You can't really get in touch with someone easily. And most of us don't care enough about a random (probably fake) leak
