To be honest, I don’t want to believe that just yet so I’m giving that a grain of salt in case and to be cautious you know. Also can you stop always believing in any leaks that only mentions Shantae? Because you know it might end up being false anyway so I’m just saying please be careful what you believe is all.
It's especially impressive given that someone named Shinobi leaked Banjo and Kazooie last year, while Nintendo themselves accidentally leaked the next Fighter being an SNK character, which turned out to be Terry Bogard.
Since it is unknown if we will get anything at TGA 2020, that may not be the case. The announcement of FP6 and FP7 were openly announced by Nintendo, while right now we don't have such an announcement.
Except all he did was making good guesses and nothing else.

When did I say I believed leaks that featured Shantae? I've been warning Robot about putting too much stock in those leaks.
In my defense, I don't really know what Verge is like outside of the Smash leaks I've seen him make...

I think Shovel Knight, Quote and Hollow Knight would be great choices for Mii costumes.
I'd like to see Rotty and Risky mii costumes, i think that would please the most fans.
I've always thought Shovel Knight would make for a good Mii Swordfighter. How about a Reimu Mii Costume to go along with that as well?

Dude, Cave Story main theme would be so awesome. It's so high energy that it would be perfect for Smash. And Quote/Curly fit the proportions of the Mii fighters very well. Just give them full head pieces so we don't have to see the Mii faces and we are good to go.
Again, I haven't been! I've spent the last week or so trying to temper people's expectations about that 4chan leak that predicted both Crash and Shantae coming to Smash just because one of the Animal Crossing tidbits wound up coming true. I don't believe it's real, so I don't know why you're under the assumption that I've believed any leaks that have come out in regards to Smash Bros. Unless this is about what I said about Vergeben. You know what, fine. I clearly underestimated just how unpopular he is on this forum, so I take back everything I said about him. I didn't realize that me saying that would cause so much confusion and misunderstanding. But I'm not one who just believes that leak strictly because "Shantae for Smash" was featured in it...
There was that one leak that said Shantae, Geno and Gardevior were coming to Smash, but I didn't believe it. Not just because it sounded like a wishlist, but also because Gardevior is already a summonable Pokemon. That was the second 4chan post that mentioned Shantae in Smash. The first being the list and the third being the one Shinuto posted. Unlike those two, this leak is clearly just a wishlist.

Meh, Geno is better off as Fighter 11. I highly doubt that tournaments lead to Fighter reveals. As Masahiro Sakurai said, anniversaries do not guarantee anything. In this case, we have Mario's anniversary lasting until March. It's also the 25th anniversary of SMRPG next year, but still, it doesn't guarantee any Fighters from the Mario franchise.
Don't look into it too much the English Event is just calling the tournament Fungi Fever.

Now it feels like everyone is referring to the event by it's Japanese name to spread false hope to Geno fans. It was already unlikely that this is a hint to Geno coming to the game to begin with, as Sakurai wouldn't blatantly tease characters with references like that.
Well you know Geno fans but I wouldn’t blame them for the fact they have been wanting Geno for over 10 years and I see why they’re really diehard and kind of desperate. Honestly I don’t blame them but yes, they’re looking at them too much. Mario anniversary, possible secret hint from any Smash announcements, etc, I mean they wish but none of them is the case.
Verge had legit sources. He had quite a few, and some of them weren't good though, he did get a few things wrong, but much more right. and knew the grinch leak wasn't real too. Some say probably even knew of steve, the character was in the works for a very long time.
It's not like this is exclusive to fans of Geno - if Nintendo put out an event called "Dear Beloved", with a focus on characters who have canonically been in relationships and only using Heart Containers as items, people would immediately take it as a hint towards Sora, while an event called "Dance Through Danger" that involves characters who dance or have danced, or have been involved in rhythm games, (Bayonetta, Mario, Joker, etc.) would certainly be seen as a hint towards Shantae.
Yep, the Geno fanbase is hardly the only that has taken certain things as hints towards character inclusions
