I love how Shantae is mentioned in almost every reply to that tweet. The Smash twitter and people are DEFINITELY aware of her support if this is anything to go by.

Nice to see our girl get some spotlight!
And since I’m sure someone on the internet will try and say being in a spirit event ‘deconfirms’ a character, Min Min was in the Spirit Event “Cruisin’ for a Bruisin’”. Because I’ve already seen someone try and say this deconfirms characters.
You just can’t catch a break when someone hates your character, huh.

Gotta love seeing Shantae getting the attention in this tweet! Even the gaming sites reporting on it know to mention Shantae making her appearance in this.
And I like how her first event is in one that lets people know where she originated, and not something obvious as her having a ponytail.

And they're still using certain...drawings to stereotype the majority of the Shantae fanbase. Using fanart to diminish chances means then you want no one at all 'cause everyone and everything in fiction has weird fanart. Wow, look at that nothing, all not-there, most demanded fighter, the best fighter! It's bad logic.

Part of the package to being part of Smash Speculation as a popular female character. Really, just ignore them since they do want a reaction from the fans in order to continue fueling the trolls.

Also, fan artwork for Shantae and her GBC origins. (As her humble beginnings started at the end of the GBC lifespan in exchange for GBA)

Every single character being asked for dlc.in smash has porn of them. Hell every character already in smash has a ton of porn. If porn was a readon not to have a character in smash then smash would have no characters

Im not sharing anything, im just saying anyone who tries to use that as an reason why she shouldn't be in smash is stupid. You know how much smut there is of crash, dante, bandana waddle dee, reimu, rex and pyra, and other highly requested characters? Hell byleth has a buttload of porn and nintendo still welcomed them in.

Yeah, but detractors use this against all female characters. Just ignore them.

I was wondering what people meant by fan art making a difference. And yeah it makes no sense, because any character especially female will have thirsty people drawing her. It doesn't change who she actually is, and since nintendo already has some art of her as a spirit, then it should be seen as no problem :)

I really don't know if Smash news will pop up there at all (99% chance of not), but this year's VGAs are at pretty much the same date as always.

Glad to see it pop up, but if you ask me, the big guns are gonna be brought by Sony and Microsoft. Almost exactly one month after both of their consoles launch, it's gonna be a BIG time to showcase upcoming games, and since its such a big time for both in their launch window I'd expect theyre gonna go BIG. If we get even one or two Nintendo announcements, they'd have to be big ones to really stand out. If we get more than that, I'd be surprised.

As long as the show itself is better than the relative wet fart from last year's. Only actual big gun in that one was Godfall.

I believe it was only mere coincidence. If Shantae was gonna be announced and delayed, think she would've been in by now.

It's been a year since I last saw the World of Light trailer and after rewatching it again, it's still exciting seeing Shantae as one of the few third party spirits in it, this big-deal-at-the-time trailer, that I can't help but still be ever hopeful. Between that, the Min Min inclusion destroying dumb rules and Shantae's re-acknowledgement of her existence in the new Gameboy theme event, Nintendo, dude. Ya gotta know what you're doing to us lol

Are there any other third party characters specifically appearing on Game Boy? I can only think of Kid Dracula, maybe.

Even then, Kid Dracula is part of the greater Castlevania series.

The only other noteworthy third-party I can think of is Toki Tori, and its developer Two Tribes is kind of dead.

Some are thinking that Travis is coming with the Creator of No More Heroes saying No Comment for a question about smash in an interview.
