Entering Route 213, I've reassessed my current team. With the 5th badge coming up, My rules on leveling allow me to level the whole team up to level 35. The experience share is glued to Reese's until he evolves into a Pikachu, so leveling everyone will be tedious.
Nonetheless, Route 213 was fine. Picked up a Trick Move, got denied entering a Restaurant and then Valor Lakefront where I can catch my next pokemon.
OF COURSE IT'S A BIBAREL.
After paralyzing him, I switch to Tank and slowly bubblebeam him to half health. I throw a greatball but he resists. Tank takes the third rollout and it crit hits, which takes Tank to nearly red. I use a Lemonade to bring him to full health. After he takes this last rollout, I'll reheal and be good.
Tank's health is fully restored!
Enemy Bibarel use Rollout!
A critical hit!
Tank fainted!
Tank just laid there. That crithax rollout would have OHKO'd my entire team. I could've sent in another sacrifice had I known, but how do I plan that for a beaver?
Tank spoke up. All of the pokemon came out of their pokeballs. This could mean the end of everyone, and they all knew it. He asked Megabro to come closer. I thought he was gonna try to bring him down to hell with him, but that wasn't the case. Tank was handing Megabro the riegns to the team. Megabro didn't even know how to respond. After facing constant harrassment and abuse since joining the squad, he was scarred. Tank had faith, though.
Tank passed on. Before I could even have time to respond though, there was still the matter of what to do with this Bibarel. We took a vote and decided not to kill him. He was caught and named Reigun. I ran back to the pokecenter to release the body.
Route 214 was next.
A wild Geodude appeared!
Holy cow. A worthy replacement for Tank. I need to secure this catch. I have to switch Reese's out immediately since Thunder Wave won't work. I go to Jopan for hypnosis. I can't let a selfdestruct happen and kamikaze both of them. The plan works and she is caught. I name her Cheer since I was watching Bring It On.
There's a trainer that owned the most annoying Bronzor I will ever face. This ***** knows Hypnosis and Confuse Ray and I didn't have any awakenings. Megabro evolved into a Floatzel after the battle. I also received a Secretpotion from Cynthia. I traveled all the way back to Route 210 and gave the Secretpotion to the Psyducks. They cleared the way. As it turns out, the next area has a fog and I don't have Defog. Sweet, I can't wait for the anguish.
There was more than anguish.
The second trainer I fought in the fog was a double battle. 3 of my team members were at half health. Out of the blue, they send out a Raichu and Gyrados. They were both at a high level 27.
I sent out Megabro and Reese's, inferior versions of their team. Megabro was at half health. I can't bother switching out, nearly my entire team is weak to water/electric and everyone is likely to get gangbanged. I heal Megabro to full health and use a Shock Wave from Reese's.
Enemy Raichu used Thunderbolt! (on Megabro)
Enemy Gyrados used Thrash! (on Megabro)
Megabro fainted!
This is the second Gyrados to take my soul on just stomp on it. Reese's just sat there. He was a mere child in the center of the crossfire. He was sure to die.
Go Chichi!
I use a lemonade to heal Chichi. I pray I can use another Shock Wave on Gyrados, which would kill him.
Enemy Raichu used Thunderbolt!
Chichi fainted!
Enemy Gyrados used Thrash!
It missed!
Reese's used Shock Wave!
Enemy Gyrados fainted!
Chichi was gone. I could smell traces of her remains but the bolt disintegrated her instantly. The Thrash missed Reese's. He was nearly in shock. A dragon over 100 times his size missed an attack that would have obliterated him from the face of the earth.
Reese's managed to kill the Gyrados. From here I send Cheer. Between paralyzing Raichu with Thunder Wave, I manage to slowly confirm the kill over the course of 4-5 turns (couldn't magnitude with Reese's on the field). Reese's grew to level 30 and still did not evolve. With the battle over, I must retreat and find a poke center.
After tracking one down, I release the bodies of Megabro and Chichi. My replacement options:
-Starly
-2 Golbats
-Unknown
-2 Bibarel's
-Wingull
-Psyduck
I decide on one of the Golbats and Unkown. I'm likely to need a sacrifice to the nuzlocke gods and Unknown seems like a good choice. I make the journey all the way back to the fog and plowed through to the next town.
After clearing a couple events and trainers, the next step is to fly back to Hearthhome City for the next gym. With the death's of Megabro, Chichi, and Tank... a lot of preparations need to be made. I decide to go fishing in every town/city I've visited that has water. I never caught a pokemon in any of them and decided I'd wait on such a move until I needed more options. With a tough ghost gym coming up, that time is now. To sum up my next hour:
Eterna City - Magikarp, named her Eterna
Pastoria City - crithax on a Magikarp
Celestic Town - Barboach, named him Celestic
I would've been really happy with the second Magikarp, but adding 2 water types is okay. It's time to train the entire team to level 35. This will take some time.

I decide to level up at Route 215, where it rains. The common pokemon involve Ponyta and Geodude. I start off with Cassie. I need a pokemon at level 35 asap and she's the closest. She evolves into Staraptor and has no issues.
Gyrados was next. I get to level 22 and a Geodude comes up. It would prove fatal.
Eterna used Bite!
Enemy Geodude used Selfdestruct!
A critical hit!
Eterna fainted!
And there goes my best pokemon and the only one who can handle the next gym comfortably. Jopan was up next. With a Shell Bell equipped, Take Down damage is minimal. He gained a level before a a Kadabra appeared.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? Immediately I ran to the poke center, released the bodies and assessed my options from the box. After much deliberation, I pick out Derp and Reigun. Derp will evolve into a Golduck by lvl35 and will actually be decent. Reigun is a sacrifice. Time wont be wasted on him.
Over the course of 3 days I slowly trained everyone to level 35. It was extremely tedious. Losing focus while multitasking is so scary since anything can happen mid battle and I die from auto piloting. Reese's evolved. Cassie learned Close Combat and was fitted with a Fist Plate. Cheer learned Earthquake.

Fantina will send out a none threatening Drifblim. I can use an X Defense, X Sp Defense, X Attack, and X Speed while also healing up. I don't have it listed in the rules but I consider it okay to use Battle Items as long as I'm only finding them and not buying them. Hopefully Vengence can just sweep from there. He might die to Psybeam but maybe he can do enough damage beforehand.
Let's Rock.
Drifblim proved weak. I managed to get off the following items that I was carrying:

After healing up, I fly back to Jublife City to Access Route 218. I pop a super repel for the surfing portion since I'm not yet down to catch a Tentacool. For the first time ever, I get to lead with Reese's. His Shock Wave is making quick work of these fisherma-

Byron is another thing, though. This gym sports Steel types. Cheer knows Earthquake but I can't lead with her because she'll die to Flash Cannon and she's too slow to attack first. Cassie might work with HP Ground. Derp can pull off safe Surfs. Outside of that, I'm at a loss of what to do.

Overall, I sprinted through back-to-back gyms with surprisingly little trouble. I also got a couple critical hits going my way for once. The future is looking bright.

Forgot, is running from wild battles allowed? If a pokemon learns SD at level X, then I wouldn't risk and run away from any levels X and above, unless there's resistances involved.

TGC 7 (April 9th 2016) MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT #5!
1. Sol (best Little Mac in USA) and Samsora (2nd best Peach in USA) have been confirmed for attending TGC 7! These two top players are on top of the already confirmed, Esam, MVD, PugWest, S2H, Meme and Joker.
2. There are only 14 days (exactly 2 weeks) left to register for TGC 7. Though the event is April 9th, I am cutting off registration for Singles and Doubles on April 6th so that all of you can see your pools/brackets/seeding before the event starts and we can make any changes if needed.
3. Online registration for TGC 7 is REQUIRED. There will be ZERO offline/in-person sign-ups. If you wish to attend TGC 7, please sign up at https://smash.gg/tournament/tgc-7-1 Please note that you MUST have a smashgg account in order to register for TGC 7. Its takes less than 2min to make an account.
4. TGC 7 1vs1 (singles) has a player cap of 192 entrants and it has already hit over 1/3 capacity. TGC 7 2vs2 (doubles) has a cap of 64 teams and has hit 18% capacity but will be at 42% once the already registered players confirm teammates. TGC series has an average of over 200 1vs1 entrants per event and 60 teams in 2vs2 and so this event WILL absolutely cap. Please don't wait, register now and guarantee yourself a spot.
NOTE: Remember to "invite" your partner through smashgg using only their smashgg username to confirm your team. If you do not invite your partner, you won't be allowed to play in teams.
5. There will be a $500 pot bonus for singles (1vs1) at TGC 7. If doubles (2vs2) caps by April 1st 2016 (8 days away), I will add $500 pot bonus to that event.
6. The venue now has wired internet and thus a stream, brought to you by FNS Trela, will be at TGC 7. Go to the TGC 7 smashgg page for more details on the stream.

So I have no idea if this is the right place to ask, or if anyone still frequents this thread, but I am not sure where else to ask. So my roommates and I have been playing sm4sh and to a smaller extent melee for a long time, and we are talking about wanting to try to attend some tournaments in the area. My question, are there any regular weekly tournaments for smash 4 in san antonio?? We would both really like a group of people to play with consistently but aren't really sure where to start looking, mainly for smash 4 but melee could be nice as well. What are the most popular weeklies here in SA, if there are any?? Thanks in advance for any help!
