this looks like fun, may go. I'm usually kinda skittish about public transportation outside of NYC but it seems fairly direct, however, since it's saturday apparently it runs once an hour to certain stops.

http://www.njtransit.com/pdf/bus/T1157.pdf

Coincidentally, apparently it's like a half hour drive from NYC, so as soon as i find out what my immediate plans are, i may set up a car pool from NYC to the venue and back, provided everyone coming spots me for gas. I'll let yall know prolly around thursday whether i can or cannot.

So what time does the venue open/tourney start? Unless I'm blind, it's not listed in the OP or anywhere else in the thread.

So i have a bit of question about the scrooging rule, let's say im playing MK. I get hit to the top left and decide to glide under the stage, then about halfway through the center of the stage I stop gliding and drill rush back to the left side to hit the ledge on the side that I came from. Would you consider that scrooging? At what point does the rule come into effect?

Just asking for clarification, vagueness tends to be a bit of a hindrance in rulesets, and wanna be sure that anything i do cant be taken as scrooging

Scrooging only takes effect if you fully complete it. The only way that will count to the scrooging rule is if you completely go to the other side of the stage. If you go back to the left, while coming from the left side to begin with, you did not scrooge.

Also, I am going to be changing the rule for penalty. The first penalty will be a stock loss. This is for timing purposes so they don't just get off with a warning. By saying it is a warning as a first offense, it becomes a viable strategy to save that scrooge to the end of a match or something, and not have anything done to you.

I forgot to mention this, but we need TVs. The first 7 people to bring setups will be discounted.

TVs = 3.00
Wii = 2.00

If you bring a full setup, you get free venue. Remember, this is ONLY to the first 7 people who bring setups

EDIT: I have also updated the rules of scrooging.

Ok, so here are a few things.

1) I am gong to add a ledge grab limit to doubles. Orion brought up that there is one for doubles, and after thinking about it, there should be.
2) We might host Brawl- if we have enough time at the end of the tournament.
3) Because of confusion, I am going to revamp the front page to make it look nice. This way, information can be found quicker.

4) Do not forget that we need TV's. First 7 people to bring setups will get discounts. Anyone after that will NOT receive a discount (Also, if you bring one and you setup is not in use, you will not get a discount)

ALSO: Don't forget if you need to spend the night, it's a $5.00 charge. You get to spend the night, and play as long as you want. We are trying to turn the tournament after when it is done into a smash fest. Only about 10 people can get spots, so if you want a part of this, post here.

I won't grab the ledge while teaming with Zucco. I'm going to support him throughout the match. That is the best way to do the Lucario gayness.

Honestly, I did not do this to ruin any strat of lucario what so ever, he just pointed out that normally there has been a ledge grab rule for doubles for a while now. Because of that, I am going to add one as well.

Unless anyone is kind enough to drive me here part of the ways, I have to rely solely on public transportation to get to this place. Google Transit is working wonders for me, but I would like to know if there is a particular way that I can reach the venue without being overloaded with buses. If anyone lives near Trenton, it would be awesome if I can get a ride with them.

Ok, I almost forgot about this.

As far as public transportation goes, getting to teaneck from anywhere past NY can get a bit difficult. if you are coming from NY, or from in that direction, Bus 167 from NJ transit takes you a few blocks from his house. If you take the 167, you have to take note that there is 2 of them, and both of the bus take a different route. If you are taking the 167 T, (T is short for Teaneck Road) You need to get off a stop before you come to a street called Degraw avenue. If you go onto Degraw ave, it will stop you near the mariott, and it is a far walk from there to his house, so make sure you get off a stop before Degraw. Once you do that, you walk straight until you get to Sherwood Avenue, and then take the turn to walk up the hill to his house.

If you are taking the 167 Q (Q is short for Queen Anne Road) You can get off directly on Sherwood Avenue, and just walk to his house.

To get the 167, You need to be coming from Port Authority.

As for anyone else, it might be in your best interest to try and catch a ride. There are only a few bus's that do run near his house, but I do not know them off the top of my head. NJ has a complicated bus system, so as you can see, it is hard to actually try to get from one spot to another without some help. You also know it's complicated when a person who has been living here for most of his life can't navigate through his own state without having problems lol.

If public transportation is too dicey, may I ask who is giving rides for this tournament? I would love to be at this thing, but a lack of a car really messes things up. I can make my way to whichever area is suitable for you to give a ride; I'll try and make it as convenient as I can. Send me a PM if you're willing to accommodate. I'd really appreciate it.
