I agree. But thanks to all his trauma he received from over working himself, he's more then likely going to stay dormant with the DLC content, and the likes of Mewtwo will be the only things likely to get for now. I still think Rayman would get a chance, but I don't know when he could.
Sakurai was received Trauma...um..wow...I didn't realize that I just thought that he just wanted to take break for a while after the game got released and then after that go back to add DLC after Mewtwo..but now I feel kind of guilty for even asking for more. I mean, the game is already great and I can't stop playing with it and even without Rayman I still think this game has a pretty strong roster even with the clones. Probably the best roster for the franchise. I mean this game has the largest starting roster we've ever had in a Smash game and even with just the starting roster it's still pretty dang good.

I've also had a theory as to why Namco-Bandai was developing the game is because maybe Sakurai doesn't see himself doing Smash anymore and probably decided to give it to someone that he and Nintendo trust in the industry that knows how a fighting games work because, I mean Namco-Bandai is like the king of having some strong fighting game IPs.

Sakurai injured his arm, remember? I believe Retro and HAL should take over Smash

Honestly, it really doesn't matter if Sakurai is working on it or not, I highly doubt that Nintendo will skip out on possible Smash Bros DLC. If Sakurai can't do it, they'll have someone else do it.

I really hope so, it shouldn't be directly on Sakurai's control.

Huh...That's honestly a sound theory to me, imo.

Didnt Sakurai left HAL Laboratory years ago? Why would it go back to them? I wouldn't mind if Namco was the new development team for it and just have Nintendo be the supervisor for it. It could go either way, honestly. Yes, I do know of his injury on his arm I just thought the trauma thing was something else that Sakurai got after the game got released.

Sakurai has tendinitis and apparently can barely use his dominant hand. I remember hearing that he had to use a track ball in his other hand to work. The guy does need a break, but he really shouldn't be needing to use his hand in a supervisory role anyway.

Namco can definitely handle DLC without Sakurai, or with his approval at the most. They already hired more people for Smash...

Sakurai doesn't own Smash Bros, Nintendo does.

They don't need Sakurai's approval to start adding DLC.

Regardless, Iwata went out of his way to get Sakurai to direct the last two Smash games. I doubt they'll start making DLC without his approval, at least not for a long while. I do think DLC is a strong possibility with the evidence pointing towards it, though.

Nowhere in my post did I say anything about you saying anything about Sakurai owning Smash.

I do hope for DLC, Sakuari isn't too involved. He should just the guy who says "that's good" or "improve that" and let the team do the rest.

Well he's technically still the director even with the game out. Nintendo/Namco Nintendo more so, and maybe fan requests, can only suggest who they can implement into the game. Sakurai is the one where they need to go to for approval because it is his game and his franchise. Nintendo only license the game. So really they still need his approval to see if the character is deservable for DLC. He was the one who created the game/franchise and has been there since the beginning. Where were you? Why do you think people keep bringing up Sakurai's name when Smash Bros. is concerned? It's because he's the creator and the director of the franchise so yeah, they do need his approval.

Not quite, Nintendo can override anything they don't like that Sakurai is doing. It's Nintendo's game, Nintendo's property, Nintendo can do whatever they want without Sakurai's "approval."

Kojima leaving Konami and Nintendo taking over Smash without Sakurai would just completely screw over Snake.

Unless by some miracle we can get enough people shouting for Snake and Nintendo hears us.

Not really sure how it would affect Rayman. Nintendo and Ubisoft are still in decent relations, contrary to popular belief.

Well, with all this Raymanifing Ubi's been doing lately, I'd hope they're still good friends. :p

I know you guys already took this poll, but that's not why I'm repeosting it here.https://docs.google.com/forms/d/17deELX3QVDofXksu8roKCl_kyREFSThygPSoEVT2eNs/viewform
I want you guys to SPREAD THE WORD. In other words, post a link to this poll on websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Miiverse, Rayman-related sites, and My Nintendo News. In fact, you should even show it to those you know. I've been going around character threads telling people to do this, so for the eighth time:
Spread the word. This poll is going to end at the end of March, so our limbless hero is going to need as many results as he can. If all of us want Rayman as DLC, showing this poll to other people will help increase demand for him. For instance, I've already showed this poll to my friends and they've taken it.
Please show this poll to other people.
Thank you.

Snake is currently the third most requested character. Right behind Wolf and Lucas, I think if we get those two Snake could follow closely behind.

You know what I just thought of, what if Kojima directs the Smash 4 DLC or even Smash 5? That may sound like a pipe dream, but Kojima and Sakurai seem very similar in how they work. If for some reason he actually starts working on Smash content, the only problem I see is Kojima majorly trolling Smash Bros. fans XD.

I've got the feeling there'll be a direct this week because that's when the Mewtwo date announcement would seem likely.
That and we need a March direct (Japan exclusive Xenoblade X battle presentation doesn't count).

I hope that Mewtwo comes this March.. in a Nintendo Direct that will say "at the end of the ND we'll send the Mewtwo codes".

And when we think that the ND is finished, this song starts:

Watch Sakurai troll the crap out of us and announces a second DLC character.
As unlikely as it is, I could actually see Sakurai doing that to us.

and it's rayman
i just don't see it. It would be more hyped if so but they just mentioned mewtwo for the first time since 50 facts just now.

I could see an announcement of more DLC at e3 though.

I think this must be a perfect rectangle, so there must be 3 characters more (counting Mewtwo). What 3 characters would you like to see?

I'm still begging for Sakurai to stick to a pattern. Releases game, bad mouths a character, announces them as DLC. With Mewtwo he said Melee was outdated and it's data couldn't be used. He badmouthed a specific character with a BIG fanbase. PLZ

We all thought that before the 3DS version came out, but that's more then likely more then 3 to appear as arrow icons have been discovered to ofter more character you could possible cycle through. Although that could have been resolved by doing the math right to get a perfect rectangl/square, whatever designers.

I don't know who to expect other then Mewtwo, so I can't suggest anything.

Expected some Rayman related infomations when I saw the word "HYPE" until I saw the link. But this also makes me incredibly hyped, a Mewtwo release date and some gameplay footage are overdue at this point. Imagine if there's a CGI part in his trailer when Master Hand taps a Master Smash Ball like a Trainer would do on a Mega Ring to Mega Evolve Mewtwo. Seriously that would be so hype.

Edit: meant "Smash Ball", not "Master" :glare:

I'm expecting and hoping for a new Nintendo Direct next week at this point. I'm tired of F5ing on Nintendo's Twitter Page.

Yeah, E3 2015 is my bet for a new Smash 4 DLC character announcement. Smash is such a huge deal when it comes to the roster I think E3 is the best time to reveal a new character.
