As a thought, maybe instead of just saying *UPDATE on the front you can post the date of the latest update. That way it will be easier for the rest of us to gauge when you have updated it.
Otherwise you'll have to be creative with how you let people know you've updated.

hey, so i found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WE3X9XxUBOI&NR=1

Given that like, this was months ago and Kalm is definitely way better, look at the 0-60% damage combo that goes to death. That was ****ing crazy, also at 1:00 MK gets a pretty good gimp in there, so this is a good video for things to avoid when going against MK with Link. I'd advise everyone to watch this video.

Why'd you bring that old match here <_<? Well, if people will benefit from it, then I guess it's alright. Just remember that, it was months ago.

Yea. sorry about bringing that up, but it does have 2 scary MK moments. I mean 0-60% -> death = not cool. And in the match-up forums people mentioned the dair gimping of MK, so I figured I would point that out at 1:00. Like, I think if we are going to improve as players, we need to make a video of things Link players should "not" do. Instead of like the Izaw style of "ggwtfbbqcombo", but something that eliminates mistakes, since Link can get punished so easily.

You're pretty good, I think you should just work on getting quicker with link.

I honestly dont understand why people think Izaw is so great. I watched videos of Izaw and hes ok but hes really not that amazing, his opponents aren't even good. I think Legans style of link is way better than Izaws and he plays way better people.

That doesn't prevent Izaw from being one of the best Link players... Legan and Deva are still pretty much the best Link players, followed very closely by Izaw, Finns, Blubba, and Arkive. Izaw's opponents aren't always good, but look at his tourney matches vs. Serpit. He's not bad at all...

Izaw also posted a lot of friendlies where the opponents weren't using their best characters.

I personally think Deva is the best, not to be on the guys nuts or anything, but he did beat DSF. Legan is taking a break from brawl anywayz, so for the moment I don't think it's even debateable.

DEBATED!!!

I think Izaw is definitely one of the best Link players. As for Deva... you cannot doubt he rocks you on any level, let alone Norfair. But as someone said in a different thread... Norfair is a Deva level, not a Link level. And clearly Deva understands that level extremely well (I dunno what would've happened on other levels against DSF, I'm just saying Deva's understanding of Norfair granted him a serious advantage).
Legan has been my favorite, and whom I consider the best. Although naturally (and to bring this back to topic a little) Ray Kalm has serious WiFi skillz. I think that he could best any of the other Links if they fought him on WiFi... but that will never happen so oh well.

Im not saying that Izaw is bad at all, I just wouldnt say that his link link is anywhere near the caliber of Deva & Legan. The matches vs serpit were ok but no one ever thinks what the hell a Link AND Lucas were doing in the semi finals of a major tournament. Especially since there was nothing special about either players. Link boards from what I see are different from other boards, the pro links are determined by the best wifi videos or who you idolize.:dizzy:

I think Izaw is a great Link player and contributed a LOT to the Link community really early. He deserves a lot of respect. But I don't think that he is at Deva's level. Deva is the most consistently highest placing Link in tournaments. Followed by Legan and ArkiveZero and Finns. Blubba has a great Link from what I can tell, but he lives in an area where finding tournaments is hard lol. Deva has the most experience out of all the Link players and he plays against top ranking players (frequently?).
Norfair is a great Link stage, Deva just got there first and has the most experience on it, while the rest of the entire Brawl community doesn't at all. As the game progresses, I'm sure there will be plenty of Link players that will utilize Norfair.
Ray Kalm probably has the best Link on Wifi.. seriously, his game is like built on Wifi. lol it's like he can control lag or something!

I fail on Norfair so much I can't even tell you. It's like my worst stage. I dunno, maybe my style of play isn't suited by the stage? I really have no idea. All I know is that I cannot play on Norfair to save my life.

Bring me to Delfino, and it's a different story.

Take my name off the list, BANNED tier is not a category. Anyway about the whole wifi thing, if you play wifi more than you play offline your wifi game can be your "normal" game kinda, idk in the summer my ifl competition was 1. not on my level, 2. No big tournies. So online was my only option if I wanted to get good with link and be considered one of the best and play people who gave me a challenge. It would take me from 3 matches or sometimes a whole day just to get back the feel of offline play, but when I got back the feel I was the same old link.

From my understanding Deva plays a higher level of competition (irl) than any other Link player and he prob goes to tourneys more frequently so I understand him not being big on playing wifi competively.....lol, wifi messes up your irl game. But for some of us who cant make the tourneys for what ever reasons wifi is the only option if you want to get known.

Good stuff Ray Im sure your good in person too and not just wifi good.

Well yeah it's just, I live in a town where smash virtually doesn't exist. I'm not old enough to drive, I haven't really tried to search for tourneys that much, and the last problem is.....my parents despise video games. With a passion. If they found out I was going to meet random people to play video games, they'd flip. So I manage with wifi. Or at least, I used to, and will continue to do so once it gets fixed.

Actually, when I started playing melee competitively, the closest tournament with actual good-pro players was a 6 hour drive from where I lived, and my parents wouldnt let me drive that far anyways. The thing to do is check regional zones for your area or city. Make your own thread even. People will post eventually. I got a small group of players in my area together, we started to have small tournaments just amongst ourselves, and eventually someone offered to drive to where the good players were and we all pitched in for gas and started carpooling. As far as parents, mine never really approved of smash either, and I used to lie and say I was spending the night at my friends house and that I'd be back the next day. That's pretty much what I do for chip now too xD. But man, the story I had to come up for 4 days when I took him to Axis in Cali was crazy. Dont think I'll be pulling one off like that for a while lol.

I.......am not capable of lying to my parents. Like really, I just don't have it in me. I'm one of those guys who never breaks the rules, but knows how to have fun at the same time.

Me too. :/ I can't do it. I don't like trouble. It's not my thing. I'd rather just relax and have a nice time than be an idiot and have some sort of beef (issue I like greaser dialogue lol) with my parents. I'd much and way rather be a good boy so Santa comes and gives Link a better recovery. And me that snazzy new iPod nano. :D

Why do parents hate smash? Ive been in online tourneys and my mom will come down stairs and get pms mode on me when she see's me playing the game. I lost to a falco in the losers final it was so gay I prob would of beat him (this was in june tho btw and I got brawl in may).

You know. . .you dont have to lie. You can say you're staying the night at a friend's house to hang out and play some games and be back the next day. . .it's actually the truth.

Hmm, that is actually true.

Okay, now to convince people to play smash! (I live in a town where sports is HUGE, smash virtually doesn't exist).

Then, I gotta find some tourneys. Then, I gotta find a driver. After that I'm set.

lol I'll never get this going....

Step one: Go check regional zones for your region and find someone that plays in your area. If there is no one, make a thread and someone will reply eventually, if you're in New York, it shouldnt be too hard lol.

Step two: If you dont see any tournament threads in your area, make one.

Step three: Get to know the players in your immediate area and play small scale tournaments with them.

Step Four: Either invite good players that are relatively nearby, about 6 hour drive max, to your tournaments, and if they never show, find someone who you should know pretty well by this point, and fine one of them that can drive and set up a carpool to the nearest tournament with pros.

It might take like 6 months to really get it all going, but by the end you'll basically be a pro Link.

yeah i'd put blubba above Kalm too, to be honest.. Arkive isn't too far behind Legan either. I don't know who would win between Blubba and Izaw though. And I don't know whether I should post this because it's a thread for Kalm's videos lmao. Kalm's good though. Come to Ontario events more man. I rarely do for any Brawl ones though.. do you play Melee at all?

Because playing Smash Brothers is objectively a waste of time, whether we like it or not :ohwell:

I think you better shutup. You might've 3 stocked me, but I've also 3 stocked you. Sadly I didn't capture a replay of it to prove it. Oh and weren't you the one that always goes around saying that Wifi doesn't prove anything?

LnkSpecialist..your not above me. I do beat you majority of the time.

Everyone needs to stop taking wifi so seriously xD

I'm a little lost on where the thread is going now, but if it's like player rankings or something, it would need to be divided cuz there's just some things that cant be compared.

Maybe a list with Arkive, Legan, and I for players that attend competitive tournaments.

A list of wifi only/mostly players like, Blubba, Kalm, Linksp.

And A European Tier List with Izaw and the guys from Norway/Sweden etc.

It's like comparing Oranges and apples if you put em all together.

And I dont know who would be above, Blubba or Kalm, but I'd say Blubba just because he's been in the scene a little longer. I don't really know though.
