The classic Megs probably has a 40-65% chance of being in, since he was a mainstay for both the (S)Nes eras, with an appearence on the GBA. Plus, if their including nostalgic favs like Pit in the game then I'd say Megs chances are pretty good.

Mega Man has fairly good chances in my opinion. But Capcom and Nintendo aren't as friendly as they used to be, what with Devil May Cry and Onimusha. Still though, Mega Man and Nintendo have always sorta stood side by side, so I'ma give the little Blue Bomber a 75%.

Sonic is the most likely person to get a 3rd party character slot IMO. The only reason he wouldn't get in is if SEGA doesn't let Nintendo have him. But that's very unlikely, I give him a 90.666% chance of getting in.

Let's face it, Sonic is one of the two biggest names in game history (the other being Mario of course), and I believe it's even been stated that he was the most requested character on Sakurai's poll. He would fit in smash very well and everyone wants to see Mario vs Sonic (though there never will be an official winner, just watching them duke it out will bring great joy to many fans). Both Sakurai and Miyamoto are completely for Sonic in brawl, and Sega would literally screw themselves over if they refused to let him be in. That said, the fact that Sonic is 3rd party means that I really don't think I can give him 99%, as there is a slight chance something may go wrong in the negotiations.

But I'm fairly confident in his inclusion, so he gets 88%.

Hmmm I am STILL not found of this whole Sonic in SSB happening but I give him a fair 80% change of appearing. I would find it very weird if Sonic wasn't in Brawl, and I'd sure laugh my *** of that day.. But yeah, his changes are huge.

I believe that Sakurai has personally mentioned he'd like to see Sonic, and it would be pretty stupid of Sega to not give Sonic this massive popularity boost. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that, IMO, there is no new, unconfirmed character with better chances than Sonic. So, I'm gonna go ahead and give him a very high mark.

Sonic is pretty much the most likely addition to roster at this point, not only among third-party companies but Nintendo's own roster of likely candidates. I mean, with all hints being dropped by various videogame magazines, various execs, the producer of Sonic and the Secret Rings, Miyamoto-san, and even Sakurai-san, it's pretty hard to imagine him NOT being in at this stage in the game. I'd say he has a 99% shot.
