Koarin, yes, FE could have 4 slots like Pokemon (which will probably have more in Brawl...), but the thing is that FE isn't as popular as Pokemon.

Like...seriously. Pokemon is only beat out by Dragon Quest in popularity. In Japan, where these games are made, at least.

I know nothing of Fire Emblem but I see Hector mentioned a lot so I'll give him 30%.

Also, about Dragon Quest...It's a worldwide game, unbelieveably popular in Japan, at least as popular as Earthbound in the US...I think that, if any character comes from Square-Enix, Dragon Quest is definitely something they'd look to pull from. Loto? Torneko? Both would be awesome. They'd sell the game better than Sonic, too...<.<

Two votes for Takamaru and three votes for Crono.

Only way Hector gets in is if FE gets 4 characters, and I doubt that would happen before DK, Metroid, Kirby and Starfox (which I think are more popular) get 4, plus there are the franchises that haven't even been repped yet, 20%.

Nominate Toad x5.

If they are going to do the whole "Villian" thing.. I would think Fire Emblem would have one also.
This would again decrease the chances of seeing Hector.

Outside of Japan, they're more popular. Inside, though, FE is very very popular...

And Devas, I think DQ exceeds all comparisons of popularity. The best selling system in Japan was PS2, right? The best selling game on said system (note: not just RPG, but GAME) was DQ VIII, by far.

It sold 'over three million copies within its first week,' and 'by January 31, 2006, total worldwide shipments of Dragon Quest VIII surpased 4 million, of which over 430,000 were from the North American release.' Quotes from Wikipedia.

Ok, I may have been wrong. Just for ****s and giggles I looked up Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.

I don't think I played that particular Fire Emblem but I know he wasn't the most deserving character in it. 25%

If a FE character were to get in it would not be Hector so unless is two FE characters are included which is highly unlikely then I think he'd get in. So I give him a 20% chance.

Hector's not happening - I can already tell you that. FE7 was the worst performing installment in the series after FE5 in Japan as far as sales are concerned, but even FE5 gained a considerable degree of praise, which has yet to be the case for FE7. Why bring up Japan? Simply it's because they still hold more clout than we do as far as Fire Emblem is concerned. Even with it's rabid fan base over here, FE7 still didn't make much of a splash saleswise. Face it, the only eason we're even CONSIDERING any FE7 characters is because it happened to be OUR first title in the series - had it been FE6, which was originally planned, everyone would be clamoring for Roy to stay and to include Lilina and Zephiel; had it been FE8, everyone would be in arms for Ephraim and Eirika. See my point? It's simply the power of first impressions at work here. I will admit he has the whole "ax wielder" thing going on, but that doesn't increase his chances by much. I'll say he has a 5% shot.

I nominate Mike Jones 5x.

Hector is a good guy, but compared to Ike he has little chances I think. Hector is an axe character, but Ike is just more populair (and a better Lord too). I give him 60%

An axe would be awsome and enough with the swords for the Smash series we have about four of them and people are still asking for more. I give him a 70% chance cause he could bring a lot to the table. If G&W and Pit can do it why can't hector.

Nominations: Lucario (x5)

The only thing going for Hector is the fat is he's the only FE Lord who can use an axe, nd I don't think many other nintendo characters in general do. However, as it's been pointed out, FE7 (the game Hectors from) didn't do too well in Japan, and Hector is really only popular outside Japan. While Sakurai did say he'll take other areas into consideration, I'm not sure he'll adda character simply for the international audience. Hectors saving grace is that he's the only axe wielding lord, which gives him the uniqueness factor. And while 4 FE characters are fairly likely, there are so many other potential characters even among the Lords, so Hector has a lot of competition for a spot.

Overall, I'd give him 15%.

Fire Emblem's big, but not huge. I can't see them getting more than three characters. Marth would make sense to keep in, and Ike's the second, natural choice. After that, I find Lyn and Black Knight to just have more personality than Hector, and they also seem more major, though I wouldn't know, I've never played a Fire Emblem game. The only reason I see to include Hector is to have an axe-fighter, and that's a feeble point.

Hector's Chances: 27 %

Nomination:

3x Lucario (it's about his turn)
2x Midna (and she'll be next, methinks)

I am entirely unfamiliar with the Fire Emblem series, and I've never heard of this guy. As such, I think that he has little to no chance to make it in. You see, they're going to want characters that are both popular and suitable. I've never touched an FE title in my life, and even I know about characters like Ike or Lyn.

On the flip side of that, I know nothing of the character, so for all I know he could be the most suitable character out of the franchise. It's not really for me to say.

I'll give him about 40%, for the benefit of the doubt.

I think there are better fourth generation Pokemon as well as Pokemon in general but Lucario's cool, has a movie, and is pretty popular...So I'll give him fifty percent.

Five nominatory votes for Takamaru.

We won't really know how popular lucario is in the USA until D&P come out here. Popularity is a huge aspect, so I really don't know how to place him. He seems like he'd be fun to play, a ninja type thing would be fun to play, and he's in one of the movies. The fact that he's in a pokemon movie won't matter much, though, since there are so many others that make it too. Even if he is in a leading role (not sure, but that's what I've heard), it won't matter much, since there have been plenty of other movies, and nothing got in from them (except maybe mewtwo, but I think the first gen games were more to blame for that). Still, 4th gen may need a representative. I give Lucario 33%, but I think it's highly dependent on what happens in America.

But, when SSBM came out, Mewtwo was the only featured movie Pokemon that was vaguely anthromorphic. All the others are birds, too unanthromorphic, and Celebi followed what Mew did in the first SSB. All the featured Pokemon from the first four movies appeared as Pokeball Pokemon as well. Of the movies released since then, the only Pokemon that are vaguely anthromorphic and are featured are Deoxys and Lucario (Groudon I guess is but it'd probably be put in with whatever Kyogre and Rayquaza do). All the others fit into the legendary trio/duo groupings or the Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, and Manaphy line.

Oh, okay, Ferro De Lupe. I'm gonna change my vote then since nobody else seems to want him...

Lucario is cool looking and has potential in Brawl. He seems fast and he can shoot pluse bombs for long range. He combat style could be similar to Sheik's in the sense that she is a ninja. Also a very unique moveset with all sorts of new 4th gen moves. I'm very confident that he will be in on the fact that he is popular and talented. 95% chance of getting in.

I mean he a ****ING NINJA POKEMON doesn't get better than that. Look at him in this pic. (i know it isn't a exact look of him but still cool.

I nominate: Starfy(x2) and Bowser Jr.(x3)

I would have done Midna but she most likely to be next.

Nominations for Crono, just for Devas. <3<3

And Lucario? I'm not a huge Pokemon fan, nor do I think they need any more representation in Brawl. So, as I'll probably be biased, I'm going to not vote for the day.

[Edit:]

Although to those who doubt Pokemon's influence on Brawl games...

I think Lucario is pretty cool for a Pokemon and the movie definately helped his popularity, but his chances for Brawl are still a bit of a letdown. Odds are, we may only get as far as 3rd gen, what with all the Legendaries to stuff in Pokeballs and things like Blaziken and Deoxys standing in his way (as much as I loathe Blaziken being playable, it would probably happen). But there seems to be a huge legion of fans behind him, and this could change everything.50%
