It doesn't help that his game was never released in Japan. When dealing with retros, I think Sakurai would rather have obscure characters that have at least been in major selling regions. That's why Takamaru, Mach Rider, Muddy Mole, and even Balloon Fighter would more than likely be in before him. It's also why I'm skeptical on the inclusion of characters like Prince of Sable, but that's beside the point.

Considering pretty much every mentioned retro character has a better chance than him it's not very likely. He doesn't even have a trophy in Brawl to slightly show Sakurai even thinks about him. He's also basically unheard of to most people/players.

SSBF isn't around to update the primary post, so I'm basically doing the job for him until he returns.

Anyway, regarding Mr. Stevenson, his likelihood is a 0.25 from me. I'm not very familiar with that character, so I don't have much to say for him.

A forgettable Retro. I know Sakurai likes to include them, but this one is very obscure to the point that he'd be completely random. At least the Ice Climbers had some recognition prior to Melee.

I repeat these ratings, which conveniently coincide with my own feelings toward Stevenson.

What MSG said. SSBF isn't around to run the game anymore, so Opossum is running it now, but he can't update the OP. We have to wait for a Mod to do that. So for now, it's better to just keep a close eye on the recent posts to see if the day has ended or not.

I really have no interest in Mr. Stevenson. I think there are far more more appropriate retro characters such as Takamaru, Mach Rider, Lip, Balloon Fighter, etc. His game was never released in Japan and, while that might be an advantage, it's also a disadvantage. As well, his game was fairly forgettable, known only among retro and Gumshoe fans, and creating a actual move set for him would be a stretch since he really only runs and jumps while aided by the light gun.

  I think Mr. Stevenson is one of the worst picks for Smash Bros.
  I had never heard of Gumshoe before visiting these boards and I think a whole lot of other people around here never did either. On top of that, his design makes him hardly stand out. The gameplay of Gumshoe gives very little room to create a move set for Stevenson.
