Once you start getting graped by people, you'll return to snake. We all do. Unless you main MK, in which case you'll simply go to MK.

Guys I'm temporarily resigning Snake.. I have absolutely no fun with him anymore lol (does not mean community cv is cancelled)

Now you know why I changed to DDD..Snake just gets so boring after a while.

snake can get boring but not as boring as the penguin

actually more than anything snake just annoys me, I never get bored I just get really frustrated by him. I don't like playing the game as "I'm a terrible character with ****y tools but I can live forever!". I'd rather play a lighter faster character that can control the tempo of the game more

i go for long periods of no snake, too. you just get bogged down is his gapping weaknesses, and they can really start to get to you.

take a month or two to learn another character, then come back to snake fresh, and you'll love it.

trust me.

Nah D3 isn't boring at all because he has really stupid moves. Waddle Dee Toss, (<3 Gordos), Jet Hammer, F-Smash, Inhale..all of them are just funny. I get at least one F-Smash kill a set now I've gotten so good with it lol

Plus I like a character that actually fight in the air.

That MU is boring. I'd do Snake vs DK though. Super fun.

I can agree with this. I am finding Snake fun again now that I am focused on my :dedede: and :metaknight: I just feel like I am going to need a refresher course on Snake though.

DDD has interesting and fun gimmicks but I just find his base mobility to be really hard to deal with, too slow so I get sick of playing as him after a game or two

snake is amazing when you make super hard reads on bad/midlevel players to do ridiculous things to them, it's just stressful using him against better players because they usually don't have the bad habits that allow you to do those things to them

Hope so, I've been working with Snake for years and he's the only one I can actually tourney with as of now. I kinda want to bring DK into tourneys too but I'm hopelessly lost on experience/MUs and I don't really feel like getting ***** out of bracket when I can do well with Snake.

I don't feel much of a difference in mobility between Snake and DDD so either way I'm playing a fat sack of everlasting obesity.

I will agree the rewards for a good read as Snake at mid level play is sooooo funny. At high levels you see a BIG decline in how much stupid **** you can get off.

I DO enjoy moving with Metaknight though. There's some sort of rush I get when I'm chasing people and comboing and applying pressure. It's so much fun. After playing slow *** characters exclusively for almost 3 years its really liberating.

yeah, I always used to play MK more defensively, lately I've been playing a lot more of a pressure game and it's so fun. this is actually more like how I played in 2008 before I was mercilessly beaten into being a campy *** lol, but now I'm a lot better at covering options and being safe so I can make it work sometimes

I get what you mean. When I started using DK I loved his superior mobility and the fact that he can rack up damage almost as fast as Snake. His amazing ledge game relieves me too, because you guys know what dat ledge life is like when you're a Snake main..

I will NEVER jump on the metaboat! NEVER. I have resisted over the years and I have seen comrades fall victim to its alluring deliciousness. I have witnessed fellow Snake mains leave the way of manliness for a pink marshmellow in a suit. MetaKnight is NOT my destiny!

Bored. Anyone suggest some new animu to watch. Shiki was last suggested and I got that outta the way. Anything new and interesting?

Also, I don't mind playing snake, but it's nice to change things up with a character that can fight in the air.

I hate watching unfinished shows cause I'm impatient and don't like to wait... but I guess I'll start watching anyway.

Deadman Wonderland.
Looks interesting but I wish these japanese people would move away from the middle school/ high school heroism. I guess so as long as they don't act like ****ies (see Katekyo Hitman Reborn) I'm fine with it.

High School of the Dead
I saw the first episode. Production is **** incredible.

Once I'm caught up in the anime, I'll probably move on to the manga.

^This. I prefer to be able to move a character quickly around the stage as fluidly as possible. This is why I enjoy falco and shiek much more than snake at times.

lol A pocket DDD will beat DK. Seriously, DK vs DDD is bad even without doing the standing CG. Whenever I play DKs as DDD, I simply have to run away the whole match keeping DK at ends with ftilt, bair, grabs, and SideB. DK will live long, he will hit hard if he gets in on DDD, but getting in on DDD is hard if you run away. Although, I feel like DK is that away against pretty much any character that has some means to attack him without approaching.

You have to have a snake mind to play snake. If you don't you never will be a top snake. He has his own way of thinking that you can't just develop if it doesnt already naturally suit you.

I gave up on MK lol. He's no fun. Snake/Marth/Falco suits me far better.

I just hate approaching, I'm really bad at it. At least Marth isn't bad at it.

What do you mean by this? I realize he's quite different than most characters, but a whole different mind?

I don't really know how to explain it...it's like music. Everyone can learn music, to the extent of breathtakingness. But only those so naturally inclined, can ever be truly amazing with the pure emotion they are able to produce at whim. You just have to see each and every situation differently imo. Could you condition yourself to recognize common situations and the best response? Ya, and that'd help a bunch...but you will only get so far that way.

Also, i agree marth>metaknight in fun level. Nothing like a tipper fsmash to kill someone at like 70

that's not snake specific, some people are naturally talented at the game and don't need to practice or study as much as others, you see that with people across all characters

I didn't say it was. And that however is not true. The only way you cant be a master of this game is by not committing the time and effort and also if you don't have better players to play with. It also helps if you use "your" character. Like, i'm 100% sure many top players could never ever be a top snake. The slipper just don't fit. And that's what i was referencing. The natural tendencies to be able to produce situations with your character and effectively bring about innovation that requires a certain State of Mind.

There are some people who learn to be great through their character. There are others who learn to be great by excelling at the concepts of the game.

Yes each character is different no doubt. But Im prettty sure there are people like Atomsk who if they were interested enough could play any character they want at a competitive level.

Everyone is attracted to a character(s) at first. I mean we've probably played enough fighting games and such before this to determine the style of character we want. But there are some point who just could play anyone because they fully grasp the game's concepts. I know several people like this.

Your "state of mind" shouldn't be character based it should be player based and the rest will come naturally.

Despite how things might actually turn out, I think anyone can work their way into any level of achievement that has already been obtained.

For example, say you have a 42-in waist pair of jeans. While you might not be able to fill them to the rim at your current point in time, you can eventually if you eat enough junk food and do not excerise at all.

Imagine there are two people. They do not have the same skill level, and we can apply a quantitative amount to their current skill level. Let us say they have skill levels 42 and 67. By my belief, the person at lv42 will be able to achieve any level between his current lv and the other person. The reason? There is someone there who can help him raise his level.

The other person who is at lv67 has no one near him to help him achieve a higher level. The lv67 guy won't be able to improve unless he is some sort of gifted innovator who can raise his lv by himself.

This is similar to what kuro said. You can take any player in this game and with enough time and effort raise them to the same skill level as you. However, in order to surpass the maximum lv set by others, you have to come up with "something" different.

Playing Snake seems like that. I can have other people teach me how to play snake and use their same old tricks all the time, yet my maximum success is determined by the level of others around me and what else I can contribute on my own. If I cannot add anything to how I play this character, I can never break away from the pack. However, I might have more success if I switched characters. Not because I learned how to play this character at a level others set, but because I managed to be an innovator with the character. In this theory, everyone should have a character suited to their own talents that they can achieve bet results with because they can add to that character instead of simply copy what has already been done.
