Yeah, I know. I was just thinking about what if he actually pummeled coins that mattered out of his opponents.

Coin mode in Brawl also includes dollar bills, btw. :)

I think there's a flag that lets moves do "coin damage", which is similar to darkness or fire. Basically it's a gfx everyone can have.

Neko I second a good discussion about the changes to stages. Potential stages, and a revisit to your discussion last time of the way they would be handled in competetive play.

I for one like more competetive stages. I like what the new Norfair, Hyrule Castle, SSE jungle, Skyworld, Summit have to offer.

My understanding is that you guys intend on using the S.E.C. to add the melee/64 stages, and maintain all Brawl stages. I would suggest doing this but make as many of the Brawl stages competetive stages.

This would include Norfair, Spear Pillar, Luigi Mansion, Eldin etc. Maybe a discussion could be how to make these stages competetive. Maybe not for tourney play, but you could play on them and have a competetive match without game breaking stage mechanics.

I have a Idea for Spear Pillar.

Make the bottom part of the stage not there, I.E. delete the collisions. Then if possible remove all the Pokemon's effects except the one that breaks the stage off at the various points. Then you would have a stage that is fine in layout, Flat with two vertically moving platforms. but every 30 or so seconds either the left, center, or right of the stage breaks away, thus changing the edges and the layout of the stage to create a fairly unique stage, but the stage gimmick isn't dehabilitating to anyone. It simply changes the stage like PS2/PS1/FoD/YI/Lylat do.

I think Temple: M should be retextured with Skyward Sword styled graphics, maybe with some other sky islands in the background. It's already floating in the sky after all.

The spear pillar idea is pretty close to SP- if I remember. Luigi's mansion should just be moonside, the B+ 4/5.0 version. Bridge of Eldin has walk off edges, so idk how to fix that, I'd say screw it.

It was still fun and played much differently than any other stage, just add some polish imo.

I honestly doubt it. If this project is done well, it will stand side by side with Melee.

No doubt.

You're way of thinking disgusts me. GET OUT OF MY SIGHT.

If done right I think Side by side will lead to a replacement at some point.

if done wrong it will be a side event...like Brawl :troll:

I think the main problem will always be that it's a mod.

I've told countless people online that you don't need to hack the wii to play it but they just don't want to believe it. I remember Vigilante (I think it was him) trying to get PM at a local tourney or something and he got rejected because it was a mod.

there's mod who have become populat competitively... like dota...
... so when there's a new release and people see that it's actually getting quite legit, i don't think that will be that much of an issue...

Every time I see "dota" I think of the Basshunter song. *googles* Something to research when I'm sober, I see...
Ran through parts of the stream and he says at the end he's Bobby Seige. He's the bushy-eyebrow guy =P

He also says right at the end that he knows what PM is but doesn't think it's very good; he "loves the idea and thinks it's an excellent tribute, but..."

It wasn't rejected, the tournament happened, it's just that not many people played.. I don't think I even played either at that time since I was already playing all 3 smash games and already my focus was wearing down as if I played melee 3 days straight so ya... lol.
