Yes, VGBC will be streaming the smash portion of UFGT. Pools are bracket pools and Top 2 make it out, just like Evo's pool system.
those kind of pools are weird, because are they really technically pools?
like I thought a pool is to describe what are basically self-contained RRs that are then seeded, or something like that. this is more just like a more organized way to compact brackets than actual pools

There's nothing wrong with social media in and of itself, but rather it's how it's made and used. Using a format that the youth knows well and enjoys and allows them to express themselves with a lot more freedom than an essay would does a much better job of making the learning experience engaging than 3000 word essays ever will.
Schools don't need to teach you basic life skills as part of the curriculum. You can ask your parents, since that is their responsibility. Also a lot of schools on the college level offer resume clinics on special days(Here it coincides with the biannual job fair) where they evaluate your resume and tell you how to improve it.
Bracket pools take much less time than RR pools. This isn't an issue in relatively small regionals with maybe a hundred entrants, but when you have 600-700 people to manage you end up with an astronomical amount of pools and these RRs stack up pretty high. It's not optimal, unfortunately, but it helps things move forward at a satisfactory pace.

He use Marth but he doesn't play alot anymore. He plays more traditional fighters mostly KOF13 and SF4 also Omaha has alot of decent players that dont travel whatsoever.

Amen to this. I'd honestly go as far as to say it's not the teacher's job to actually teach you things. They'll show you the ropes, assign homework and test you, sure, but learning is entirely your responsibility. So, they're more like instructors than actual teachers.
I've always been of the mindset that knowledge comes from researching and experiencing things on your own, rather than it being spoon-fed to you. A majority of my learning in school came from spending free time in the library just reading anything I found interesting, from world encyclopedias to Zoobooks.
never argued against that, but again, it's still moreso a convenient organization of bracket sections than they are pools. I'm whining about semantics, though, so

A friend of mine mains ness and started implementing footstools into his game some time ago. The first time you get footstoled DJC dair out of your shield is pretty startling. I think it suits Lucas a lot more though, with his insane dair.

So the fact he's doing an assignment by basically learning nothing, researching nothing, and getting an A for it because he used pictures sounds like a good thing?
That 3000 word essay will teach him more about Reagan and his times than this weird assignment about nothing ever will.
The thrust of my point was if the school is just wasting everyone's time, not teaching the kids anything of value, then teach them something practical and useful that you know about as an instructor.
Otherwise, let them out of school and do something else. But if they are stuck there by law, please don't waste the time on busywork.
Yess yesss everyone do footstools on people shields and body them. I'll be happy once people actually start doing this. Shielding isnt safe in PM at all. Even less than in melee against spacies, its disgusting. Expect a Diddy shield pressure video before the end of the week

It all depends on how the teacher handles the assignment, and I will agree that if that is all the work he did and he does get a good grade, then the teacher didn't do a very good job. However, an assignment like this can do exactly the same job as the essay while being more engaging and not requiring dry, extensive writing constrained by arbitrary word counts, so long as it's done in a meaningful way.

My region's top player likes to stand on platforms and shield drop uair. So it's on my to-do list.
Right now the only time I ever footstool is during combos, like after a shffl nair as Ivysaur in example. Free tech chase and if they CC'd my nair, free dair or uair.
But the first thing on my to-do list is pretty 20XX already. Do you guys know about the OoS Option Selects ? During the animation when you let go of your shield, you can jump, but you can't attack. Except if you powershielded (or perfect shielded). So it goes like this : attempt to powershield -> release shield on the next frame -> attack on the next frame -> wavedash back on the next frame, or shffl on the next frame.
If you shielded, you will wavedash back or shffl (with a minimum of two frame of delay that may make things safer on your opponent's side). If you powershielded, you will attack instead. I call it the "facecheck". But OoSOSs is a fun name already so idk =3
