I tried traditional 2D fighters long after getting used to Smash. I've been spoiled by the amazing movement that all the smash games have.

Getting used to the freedom of movement is what's keeping me from trying other fighters. Though the only other fighter I'm actually interested in is Marvel. Someday, maybe..

The closest traditional fighters that has similar movement IMO can get to smash is anime or airdashers like Guilty Gear, Blazblue, Persona 4 Arena and other games like KOF cause of the multiple types of jumps and Marvel. Smash is unique though so folks are gonna get spoiled.

I'm not giving up though the transition is a super rocky one.

Good luck and have fun cause you'll need it for Marvel. That game will get you salty very quick later down the line I assure you.

EDIT: You cats don't be scared though cause playing multiple fighting games helps you overall as a player but smash skills dont really transfer as much unless it's universal stuff like spacing and such, just think of it like a different style of movement depending on the game. Also there's alot of players who came from smash who are big now like LordKnight and Chris G somewhat.

Just trying to gather the most recent opinions on character placement and then I'll make a tier list combining these results with tournament results. Im posting in a lot of threads so there can be more more opinions as that will reflect more accurately. If you havent voted yet please do! (just 3.0 opinions please)

The game was quite dreary before, but I think it's been fantastic as of late with the changes.

Transitioning to new fighters is hard if you start off with Smash, at least that's how I feel.
I can only play anime fighters like Melty Blood and what not, but I sure do love to watch Marvel despite sucking at it.

^This is big one and the patch helped quite alot plus it's not a Superman and Black Adam fest anymore. The game is at Evo because of the patch and newfound interest with a possible moneyhat. If you wanna watch hype Injustice with the patch I suggest you watch this match.

Falcon's Knee is awesome, but works best when used at the appropriate times: as a punish and as a combo finisher.

This is very true. I remember Dacidbro saying in a interview a while back when he went to Blazblue after leaving Smash he got his ass beat alot. I did as well when I was starting to learn Soul Calibur and Tekken especially Tekken and 3d games are a different beast compared to 2d cause of sidestep, your options that you possess and characters having alot of moves at your disposal.

No, I was just wondering. I'm sure neither of us wants a saboteur to ruin the tier list. This is a good idea. Maybe having this up will put pressure on the PMBR to make an official tier list.

A: It's impossible to perfectly balance a game of 41 characters. If you've seen Apex 2014, you would've heard matchups being discussed often.

B: All that is irrelevant anyway. There are characters better than others, and I want to know what those characters are.

I'm not alone then I have trouble playing other fighters besides smash but i'm pretty nice at melty and Persona. I love me some melty tho.

You can't expect the backroom to foresee how the meta will evolve while making the game in order to make a tier list. Specially when they might change something in the next update. I'd rather they spend their efforts in whatever they are doing for the next release. **** is gonna be so hype, can't wait!
