every single one of the lists are just jokes, you probably shouldn't have wasted the 3 minutes it took to post those, as they have no relevance to anything at all besides what the specific power ranking players THINK of other players and if their opinions happen to be biased, then so be it.

darc being 14th on the main list is ridiculous
hes better than half of the people above him

tope being on the main list at all is ridiculous. tope, you're not good. you don't prove otherwise.

i dont even know why you bother updating the list if all you're going to do is live in the past anyway. Neo doesn't play much at all. When he does, he loses. KM is awesome and chill as **** but he doesnt come to much to prove that much.

power rankings, aka=popularity contests and personal bias

anywho, anyone wanna get ***** in sc?

I had no clue the list was going to be released so soon. >_> the individual regional lists don't look so terrible but the overall list is garbage. Cort needs to be higher imo >_> he placed 4th at pound 9th at VLS and 4th at SCC. Darc is too low v_v. Plank should be on it LOL. i love Neo but we took bum off because he doesn't really go OOS. Well i might be wrong but Neo really doesn't either right:(? and even if he did i dont think he placed too welll at pound 3 so its kind of unfair to have him so high on the list compared to people like darc who go OOS and usually place higher >_>.

Edit: Last 3 biggest tournaments are SCC, VLS, and Pound3

SCC VLS Pound 3
1st-M2k - Azen - Mango
2nd- PC - Chudatz - M2k
3rd- Mango - KDJ - PC
4th- Cort M2k - Cort
5th- Chudatz, Wobbles - PC, Drephen - Chu,Vidjo
7th-Forward, Ken - Chillin, Darc - Azen, Dark Rain
9th Chillin,Azen, 2 WC ppl - Cort,kirbstir, 2 non EC ppl - Hax, 3 non EC ppl

Notable facts: Chillin defeated Cort at VLS to take 7th place. Chillin placed 17th at pound 3. cactuar placed 33rd at SCC due to a bad hair day LOL. EggM placed 13th at both VLS and Pound 3.

I agree that the lists are probably biased and full of ****, since we had that long discussions over it, but Tope is good. I dun see how you can say otherwise. ;_;

I guess we should take KDJ off too >>
I was thinking the same thing, but KDJ did attend VLS which is being used as a weight in the power rankings. Then again, rankings should be based on consistency and participation first rather then a single high placing.

Darc should be higher up.
Eggm is good.
Persona 3 is a great game.

Velocity shouldn't be on it.

Scar and I should be a little higher.

Spam should be right below Eggm. Spam destroyed Plank, always beats Scar, beat Eggm twice, beat Cactuar's secondaries...
Sheik, Falcon, and Luigi are not my secondaries. Also, I was playing at my friendly level.

1. M2K - Obvious
2. PC - Obvious
3. Cactuar - Obvious
4. Eggm - Obvious

5. Hax - He's been on the scene proving himself for a while, just took a major regional for him to really be noticed.

6. Tec0 - He's somewhat inconsistent. Had decent showings at the major regionals and does well within tri-state.

7. Teh_Spamerer - Not very active, making it an issue to put him on a power ranking. If he were more active he would probably be around Eggm.

8. Jman - He's better than you Scar.

9. Scar - He has his own list of Scarcomplishments posted pretty much anywhere that he has access to. I don't need to elaborate.

10. Vanz - Vanz could easily be higher on the list, I'm just waiting for the general opinion about his placement. He has a couple of noteworthy wins including Bum and chillin (?).

This next bunch is NOT in order.

Alukard - I can't rank you because you choked hard (or I just ***** you) while playing me so I don't have an accurate placement for you. I don't really know what noteworthy wins you have either.

Swift - No offense Swift, but I actually have no idea why you are on the list as I don't have much experience vs you and I don't really know what kind of results you have had in tournament.

Sensei - Sensei is like... retired. I don't really think he should be on the list. Lack of overall activity, plus he tends to play joke characters in tourny when he goes now.

Lord Knight - About as inactive as Sensei... He's good but doesn't really play. ****ing Melty Blood stealing our smashers.

Ryoko - Ryoko is only active in super local tournaments really. If he were an active OOS player, he would probably end up near Eggm. He has the potential as far as ability goes, he just doesn't play.

Pakman - Gimped by his love for low tiers. Has the potential as a player but hasn't really proven himself.

Velocity - Weak performances recently. Not really much else to say. He's roughly even with Pakman imo.

Inui - I can't really place Inui because I find him incredibly easy to fight in tournament. Possibly the least threatening player in this entire list of people. No offense Inui, but you are garbz. (I've played you enough that I know your style.)

So the people who were really good and smart at Melee will mostly continue dominating. *looks at Chu's biweekly results*

xzax stop trying to argue with Cort on this. The good melee players will be the good brawl players for quite a while. It's more about our ability to manipulate the opponent and spot openings than the difference in techs between games.

Of course you can become good. Just don't expect to anytime soon unless you spend thousands of hours perfecting strategies like M2K did.

Wow, nice post PC. It's too bad you didn't make a single post in the tri-state ranking or the regional ranking threads. I don't see how you are gonna make this kind of a post AFTER the fact.

You know you were chosen as a panelist right...? LOL so you had a chance to change this, and you didn't bother. Now its done, and you are giving us your opionion. LOL

I didn't know it was so hard to tally up tournament results derpaderp.I really had no say in Tristate regional thread because i don't really know any of the NJ/PA players so basically cactuar and you were responsible to that. I don't think there's too much of a problem with the tri-state ranking only the EC as a whole. I don't go anywhere besides smashboards and AIM i talked to cactus about the powerankings and me and cort always talk about who we think is better Ect. Cactus even posted previously saying he wished he'd of known that the list was going to be posted. I don't think cort or darc knew as well. which is probably why north east is so poorly ranked in this list.

can someone plz enlighten me on how spammerer is even being brought up?(PLZ BY ALL MEANS CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG) he has not attended a major tourney in the time frame and has not participated in the majority of his local tourneys. I'm not the most active guy but I was in NJ a good amount of time all last summer and I hadn't heard anything about spam playing in tourney up until SPOC just recently where he played well and got 3rd. I also have been keeping tabs on series such as tunes biweeklies, SPOC, and smashtality(RIP) and have only seen spammerer participate a handful of times(by handful i mean 2-3 times). If KDJ shouldnt be on the regional list then spammerer shouldnt be on the tristate.(KDJ should be on regionals tho because he wouldve won pound 3 =D )

EDIT: Lord knight is a better argument than spam is imo
EDIT2: Acutally wtf why isnt LK up here hes def better myself locally, i think he should be top ten.

I guess I should be posting my tourney results and my notable wins etc like inui, due to the fact that this list may be redone because of its premature release(umm sex pun). But i dont care that much about my ranking. I feel that the players shouldnt have to go out of their way to do such things because if the panelist havent put the time in to check/ask then they probly dont think its worth their time and its probly not worth mine.(either that or everyone is lazy)

I'll just say major tourney-wise I'm very comparable to that jubilee of names cactus constructed. TIA is a program that has such tourney data about Super Smash Bros Melee for the Gamecube Nintendo(GCN).(im aware that major tourneys arent the only factor so save it)

i posted this in the other thread, but will anyone really care about this list in 2 weeks? honestly? i kinda stopped caring about melee a little before pound 3, though it seems like lots of people still play all the time. most good melee players will be playing lots of brawl anyway, so melee technically wont be as competitive because not many people will keep practice, and seldom people will actually improve. i think we should just all play brawl!
