I would be happy to start some drama. I have played tournament sets with almost everyone above me. I am 3-1 with Tec0 in tournament, and haven't lost a set to Ryoko, Vanz, or Swift in anywhere within recent memory. I have, however, beaten and outplaced them in almost every tournament we have both attended.

JMan is **** vs CF, and a great player in general. I think he should be above me. But every single tournament placement minus Pound somewhat clearly demonstrates that I should be way higher on this list.

Pound I got *****, but I mean I think it's safe to say we can counterbalance that with my VLS placement. I ***** Vidjo's *** and got 13th, losing to Omni and Chillin, and I sucked at the vs. Fox matchup back then. Plain and simple I should be above Swift and Starz, I am confident that I would outplace Tec0 and Vanz in 80% of tourneys (and have already done so a LOT), and if Ryoko were even active I'd put him on that list too.

But I <3 you guys and am grateful that I'm even on the list. I just disagree, and claim with overwhelming evidence that I'm easily top 10 tristate. Easily.

Also, IMO Pakman>Swift, Starz, Inui, and Velocity.

Lol, glad they made lists, Melee should still be very popular even when Brawl comes out.

Yay?

Lol I guess I can't complain >_> whatever :)
You have the legs of an olympain god. Now, what does that have to do with this topic you ask? well, the answer is simple, it has nothing to do with it because neither makes sense and both suck horribly.

Scar - >_> 2 of those you won were pools matches :chuckle:

Meh it is true you placed better than me in a lot of tournies I sucked at the later half of the season >_> compared to the first half.

If only melee lived for a little longer I am a bit more confident in myself and would love to see a rivalry between me and you.

Starcock - LMFAO you are amazing

Scar, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't vidjo give you the set at VLS? I'm not sure if that was a joke or something, but you made it sound like you actually did something noteworthy in VLS brackets. And at Pound you didnt make it out of 2nd round of pools. Also, doesn't Inui have a positive record vs. you?

Not trying to be a ****, I'm just pointing out some of the possible things you may be overlooking. I would also like to say for the record that the tri-state list was finished and has remained untouched for about a month. And as for your placement on it, I believe Cactuar put you there because you had not been performing really in tourney. I just figured he knows your place better than anyone, so I didn't object to it.

I think just like every other player that improves at the dramatic rate you have has always been frustrated by how long it takes to be recognized as a strong player. I know that with future tournaments you will prove yourself as a stronger player than many of the people on this list.

Wow. Wish I had some warning about the list getting posted. I was planning on changing some of the tri-state placements.

Imagine how accurate this list would be if it was updated more than once every 8 months? But hey, what do I know.

At this point no one cares enough about melee in all of MD/VA, cuz everyone is so hyped up on brawl. Personally, I would just say people that are interested in melee should simply create a panel and work on a new tri-state list if they are dissatisfied with this one.

Everyone is unorganized and couldn't be trusted with a slice of molded bread. I think you would do a fine job on fixing the list. Scar's list is tastey and maybe spot on, with minor tweaks.

Spam should be 5th if you're going to count him. He trashes everyone. He's too good.

Also, where am I, buddy? I thought you said we were pretty even. I beat Chinesah this season, made brackets at VLS, beat Lord Knight twice, beat you twice, beat Velocity, beat Sensei, beat Tec0, beat Pakman, blah blah blah.

Edit: Also I almost beat Shiz in tourny. Took him to the last stock of the last game.

But, I suck.

Darc said he was lazy on the NE list along with Thorn disagreeing and Dazwa saying its old.

Cactuar wanted to change places on the list along with Scar having a more accurate list in my opinion and JFox saying the normal list is a month old.

I know there will be many disagreements with a rankings list but lists that weren't updated for at least a month?!

Bum has been to probably 10 + tournies this season. Teh Spamerer has been pretty active in the tristate area the past couple months. What are people going to do about this.

Velocity shouldn't be on it.

Scar and I should be a little higher.

Spam should be right below Eggm. Spam destroyed Plank, always beats Scar, beat Eggm twice, beat Cactuar's secondaries, beat me three times, beat Lord Knight, beat Tec0, beat Vanz, blah blah blah SPAM IS A BEAST.

teh_spamerer is easily as good as Eggm. He's mad underrated since he doesn't travel. He beats OOS people anyways. He trashed Plank and he beats all of Philly besides Cactuar.

thx for even considering me...

im just curious as to the factors that made vanz higher than myself. We are in the same crew so its no big deal or nothin, but i just wanna hear bout performances etc that made it a decisive choice. I actually am not around to see vanz in tourney that often so im just wondering. once again thx for the consideration

As far as list's not being updated in a month, that blame falls on NE and solely NE.

Tri - State came to an agreement 17 days before the release date, not a month.

MD/VA came to an agreement 8 days before the release date.

They came to a consensus earlier than the rest of us.

EDIT: Keep in mind these lists are supposed to take into account all happenings since July of last year.

Swift, I believe his doing well at NYC weeklies was what kept Vanz so high up. Its true Vanz had placed less than expected when it really counted, like VLS or Pound. However, this was overlooked because panelists felt just from playing him and seeing what he was capable of that he was better than what he had shown OOS.

Inui, you should try to stay off the topic of spam. (pun intended) As for your placement, I agree with you, but I'm just one person with not so much influence.

I thought I should just clear up my previous post. I said earlier that the tri-state list was made a month ago, which was a quick frustrated estimation which was in fact inaccurate. And although it felt like a month, it actually was finished on Feb. 14th. So thats more like 2 and a half weeks old. The list did take into account Pound results. (hence Scar's low placement, and Hax high placement) Of course it was not totally based on this tournament, but Pound and VLS did hold quite a bit of weight (naturally).

I think I should mention that really for both lists, but especially the full region, they were made off of players impacts on the panelists, not simply with results but also personal experience with these players. In many ways this made the list seem less valid in the minds of its critics, but in some ways it balanced the weaknesses that you will often find in a list made purely based on results. (For example, if this list had been more rigid and result based, you would not see Chinesah above Cactuar because of how poorly Chinesah placed at VLS. However, panelists chose to look past that [especially specific panelists from specific regions] because they understood that players sometimes just have an off day)

Yeah I see where you're coming from. I just think I've already proven that, and simply by looking at placements at basically every single tournament besides Pound, I think you would know that. Unless Pound was like the end-all be-all point of comparison.

i had no say in the other 2 lists, but as far as md/va and regional lists go, i think they're pretty accurate. raftbuilder, you have to realize that this list wasn't conceived based on just this voting period; there was a list in place, and that list was shifted due to the results of this voting period. honestly tope has results that are similar to yours since the last list, and he was 2 spots higher on the last one. you have an excellent record vs g-reg, however vs the rest of the top players on the list, his record is better, and he was also higher on the last list. and if you think you're better than any of the other players higher than you on the list, then you're just getting too egotistical

I don't understand how you can say the regional list is accurate when Darc is 14th. LOL I mean for God sake the kid got 7th at VLS losing only to KDJ and ChuDat. (and beating both Eggm and G-reg, who are ranked above him)

I know that I said that in the discussion and everyone overlooked it, but its really the most inaccurate thing about the regional list IMO.
