Muk. So I evolved my Sentret into a Furret for HM slaving and caught a Gastly.

I then proceed to soft reset the game to go to the Pokewalker menu without saving.

It seems like all luck based parts of the game happen more often. Multiple people here have found a shiny and another has seen more crits than usual.

Anybody else experiencing stuff like this?

My Pokemon caught the Pokerus (if you haven't seen from the Gold/HeartGold Dual Play thread):

I've also been getting a lot of crits and freezes. :/

You usually use two different pokemon in order to get egg moves. (ie I got my electivire to learn fire punch, ice punch, and CC thanks to my female electabuzz breeding with a male machoke with those moves after my male machoke's mother breed with a male hitmonchan.)

SB, where did you get lanturn?

I found out you can catch Steelix in the wild but I think I'm going to pass. I'm having a hard enough time catching my eevee up to the rest of the team. It looked like Steelix's wild level was 23 but I might have just been tired, if it's 27 I might give it a shot.

Current team, Feraligatr, Togetic, Ampharos and Eevee.

SB, where did you get lanturn?

I caught it as Chinchou in New Bark Town using the Good Rod you get in Olivine; I cut straight through Ecruteak and went to get the Rod immediately lolol.

And yeah, the Gym Leader music in Kanto is pretty epic (just beat Lt.Surge ... I mukking hate Double Team ). I think the Kanto wild encounter music is the best though, IMO.

For some reason whenever it looks like I'm about to OHKO my opponent, he usually survives by 1 hp

Right now I'm busting my balls to defeat the elite four... yeah, the member with dark types keeps defeating me. Any advice for me?

Use items. Best advice there is for in-game stuff. Blow all your money on Full Restores and Revives.

Now walk back to route 31. There is a 5% chance you'll hook a Poliwag.

And lots of healing items.

You also better have an electric move. If you don't you're screwed.

I personally prefer Quagsire for a water Pokemon over Poliwrath/Toad, its so much easier to get and so much more awesome :3

I beat Lance using a combination of Lanturn's awesome defenses, Discharge's paralysis and Pilowsine's Ice Shard (and some Gatr Ice Fang).

And lots of revives.

So try something like that?

Flash is lol; you don't need it for anything in the main game. Just Dark Cave and that other cave in Kanto near the Power Plant (I'm guessing).

Rock Smash is necessary in SOME places, but it's mostly just for items, and is equally (if not a bit less) unnecessary.

For those who need help on the Voltorb Flip Game in the Game Corner, I found this tut on google

This game made me realize three things...
- ExtremeSpeed Dragonite sounds cool
- Kingler needs to be better >_>
- Giratina's orb should be tradable..

I picked Giratina with the Arceus event just because of that.. not that I care, he is the coolest <_>

Oh yeah, did anyone do the trade quests? I did just to do it, and man a nickname threw me off.

I'm getting them all to around level 10 and then continuing to Routes 30/31
