So, does anyone who currently has this game want to check look and see if Wide Guard is on a counter for all pokemon on your team that have it? If it's not you could theoretically have a doubles/triples team that can never be hit.

It's TM 95, Bark Out. Dark Type, Special, 55 Base Power, 95 Accuracy, 15 PP, 100% chance to lower the foe's Special Attack by 1 level. Apparently it was locked in the capsule to prevent Team Rocket from getting at it or something.

Seriously, stoked about breeding pokemon with dream world abilities. I know I already mentioned it but you guys have no idea how much time I spent breeding pokemon in the last few games. Speed boost Blakizen with baton pass. :D squeeee!

In other news serebii has no mention of the "swimming googles" in the new item list. An awesome item may not even exist now.

Has the item that boosts the defenses of unevolved Pokémon been mentioned yet? There's a lot of potential for pre-evos in defensive lines (such as Chansey and Duskull), since they get a 1.5 boost on both defense and special defense, though in exchange for the item slot. This means they can take hits better than their evolved forms, but lack Leftovers recovery, while having weaker offensive stats as well of course. Porygon2 seems like one of the best users for it since he was already viable anyway (Porygon-Z being another potential evolution of Porygon rather than 2 would have made more sense).

So anyway. Elite 4 was extremely difficult for me the first time. Then once you learn their switching in patterns, you can gay them hardcore. I just switched in a my Fire Ghost after luring in one of those fighting types for a jump kick. xD

The "Prevo Stone" or whatever it's called does indeed appear to boost the defenses of any Pokémon that hasn't hit its final evolutionary stage.

I could see it being useful for the 2nd stage of the Ghost/Fire line, if not for UU then at least on the chance Shanderaa is banned.

Also I was in the POST-GAME BW WILD and I came across a MOTHER****ING LEVEL 60 HERACROSS and he was like CLOSE COMBATIN AND MEGAHORNIN MY ENTIRE TEAM TO SHREDS and I'm like **** yeah this guy is amazing and go to catch him. I keep on throwing Ultra Balls and they like shake once, and then I go back to my roots of Pokemon playing and FREAKING SMASH A AS I'M TRYING TO CATCH HERACROSS. Caught it on the first try when I did that.

Wrong. Skarmory is a basic Pokemon.

Stage 1 Pokemon are Pokemon who have evolved once.

As far as I know it's a 1.5 boost regardless of the place in the evolution line, so second stages can get it too as long as there's a third stage.


As interesting as it sounds, it might not see any success if the metagame is going to be even more offensive than Gen IV. So far all I see is ways to do a lot of damage fast and no defenses to stand up to it, so I wouldn't be surprised if most games end after six moves. >_> This can be fun as long as it's not as overcentralizing as Gen IV with several Pokémon on every team and some arbitrarily banned.
