I wouldn't be too fond of a 3D Smash. If anything, I can just personally see myself getting a headache playing a ridiculous game like Smash when items are on. I'm sure the analog stick won't be a problem, but the buttons might.

Resistance doesn't look that good graphics wise, but oh man...Uncharted and Killzone look amazing. Then you got LBP, and that Gravity game in the beginning looks interesting as well.

The touch features look decent I guess. I could care less about that stuff IMO.

Again though, I do hope battery life is good on this thing.

I think while the PSP is aimed at "serious gamers", I feel like it has that aspect of "gadget" where as people are in awe of the capabilities is has and would buy it for that aspect than the gaming aspect. I know people who had PSP's originally more to watch movies/go on the internet/pictures/ etc.. rather than actually buy a game for it.

I'm still waiting for some more appealing titles to come out for the NGP personally to be more interested. I think the main hold the 3DS has on me are the titles... and even then I'm still waiting beyond launch to get it just so more comes out.

Anything made by sony is always crappy until 1~2years after it's out. (Quoted from Finalark, but it's true)

The PS1 and PS2 were pretty good early on. The PS3 and PSP definitely sucked for awhile though. lol I would say it took the PSP 3 years before it was worth owning.

^ sameeeeeeeee.

And truthfully I only ever bought one game for it. I mostly downloaded PSX games and made them portable hahaha. Or downloaded the PSP game from PSN instead of actually buying the UMD.

PSP was also hackable and you could dl PSP games as well. Wonder if that will be the same for PSP2.

And I wonder if 3DS is gonna have something similar to the DS' R4. Downloading games and storing it on a microSD card, which in turn is inserted into the R4, which runs the games.

Thing is ,the PSP2 has amazing specs. That said, the battery will suck for now. I predict a year or two after launch it'll be an epic handheld though.

As for 3DS, I just want to wait and see if they make a LD Zelda one on OoT release.

I had a PS3 since the March after its release, and it was a much better experience than when I boughy the PS2 not far after release.

Launch games are usually shaky at best.

^? What. I don't hear much about PS3 hardware failures. PS2 did have that gay Laser lens issue. 360 has that RROR. Only problem I hear from Wii is that dual layered discs mess with the laser lens as well.

It's spelled "RROD." And some PS3s get the YLOD. (Yellow light of death)

Yeah, that was a typo on my end. R and D right next to each other lol.

I've heard about the YLOD...but how common is it? I mean...no one I know with a PS3 has suffered it. Wonder if they keep a stat for these kinda things.

It wasn't ANYWHERE near as bad the the RROD. In fact, it was completely isolated to one specific model, and I think the 360 still has occurrences of it.

What is there to talk about with this hand held? Sounds great on paper. But we have so much history to go on to tell you WHY this isn't going to fly and be marketable. Is this thing gonna be a phone? Because by the time it will be released, phones will be able to do just about what this NGP can. I mean, my friend is playing a game called Dungeon Defenders on his Droid and it looks something akin to World of Warcraft.

While I am excited for it, I'm gonna approach it as I did for the original PSP. Keep an eye on it, and when it has something worthwhile to play, purchase it used if possible.

Cell phones are still far away from playing games seen on the NGP. Infinite Blade is great graphically on the Iphone, but it's very limited on movements and length.

Same with Dead Space

I wouldn't say far away. Those devices evolve and grow extremely fast, as technology does.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do but they'll never release the numbers/stats.

Not sure, haven't heard anything yet on it happening with the new "S" models. (But that's because it hasn't been out for a full year yet.)

Yeah okay, far away was a bad way to put it. Excited to see these dual core processor phones. If anything though, I want to see a smart phone that can last battery wise more than one day.

Android phone manufacturers will be releasing Dual-Core with 3D and Quad-Core later this year, early next year. As soon as game manufacturers realize that the hardware is getting better and better, and the markets for games for cellphones is growing and growing. Something like 32% of the cellphone market owns smart phones. 26% and 25% own Android-based and iOS-based phones, respectively.

I think it's fair to say the idea that there will be one handheld, or even two is slowly dying. Even Sony knows this and is releasing an app that plays PS1 games (while emulators do exist, I think this platform will soon add Minis).

YLOD. And it wasn't near as common as 360, but it wasn't exactly uber rare either.

Also, until last year, there were not really enough PS3 games to grasp me either, and PSP had the similar function.

Off topic, but I really want to get two Psp3000(for me and my girlfriend). The only downfalls are, is that if PSP2 has a successful launch, I made a stupid mistake, and I'd rather get a 1080P 37" TV over the PSPs. As much as I love the PSP games atm, I'm actually thinking waiting for PSP2 might be a good idea. Just incase the launch is great... >.>

Again, I wouldn't worry too much about about the PSP2. Sony launches generally suck with unimpressive launch titles and high prices. I would just get the PSPs if I were you, give the PSP2 time to prove itself as a worthy console.

Yeah, but the 37" TV is so tempting. Working 37hour weeks with 7 games to beat as is makes me want it even more over another gaming console/system/w/e

I know, personally I would prefer a console over a TV but in the end it's up to you.

Actually, I could use a new TV right about now.

^ I'd agree, if I didn't need to beat: MH Tri, DKCR, FFXIII, Star ocean, infamous, Dragon age, and play SSFIV/MvC3. This also isn't counting pokemon black/white. Also factor in I work 37 hours a week xD. Prolly get more outta the TV

This thing looks like it would be awesome provided it gets games that I'd actually be interested in. Right now the list of games that are currently in development doesn't really appeal to me.

The sheer power of the NGP looks amazing and I can't wait to see what can be done with it

The console is actually pretty good in comparison to the IMO mediocre PSP line-up. They have really impressive visuals with many new features for it that it getting me to consider a NGP plus the line-up looks okay with a few good-looking games. My only concern is the price, which is hopefully going to be set at $300. If so, sales battles will be interesting.

Hold your breath, the only two titles previewed that look any good are Uncharted and Resistance. Sony consoles are generally poor and overpriced upon release but take time. The PSP has a great library if you're willing to play something that isn't the DS' super-mainstream library. I think it will take time for the new handheld to pass it up.

I haven't paid attention to what games are coming out on release, but assuming that demo video with the generic pop song was showing release date games...LBP and Resistance look solid as well.
