K i Fixed my wii, there is 100% less freezing. so it wont freeze at all 0.0

Its set up so that ALL original textures, i.e green link, pink kirby, green yoshi are all the same. So if you don;t want to use a crazy hack just pick default character.

I never got around to changing the csp for anything else, so its pretty much a mystery what its going to be.

I have no stage textures as of yet, but i'll probably get some. And no music hacks, which i probably won't get.

some textures include

basicly all the crazy vertex hacks that look nothing like the original character =] So I think itll be best used as a practice wii. or you can simply remove the sd card to play normally.

I also have a dazzl and a lappy, and all the required cords/splitters.... but have no idea how to really work it.
I can help you out with that.

Btw, I don't mind if you team or not Kuraudo lol. I can just team with Level 9 Weegee c:

did you just say it's kind of far from burnaby? you are probably one of the closest people to the venue if you live in burnaby dude.
It is when I've only lived in Burnaby a few weeks. I know its actually not that far. >_>

Such as if something went wrong and I got lost or something, it might be a factor.

But you're right, I don't really have much of a right to complain.

would the CPU be paying for his own entry fee then?

I teamed with a CPU G&W and we pulled off some insane combos. It's like his reaction time is 1 frame. Buckets everything on a moments notice and usmashes if he'll have a frame advantage from the hitstun of my attack.

Alberta people, get into contact with me so we can figure everything out. I can house all of you. I have a couch and a decent sized futon so that should cover 3 to 4 people for sleeping areas the rest will have to settle with the floor. We can have a mini tournament at my place to determine this!

How would Dan get to Meta's place, unless it's on the way, he can't expect to be dropped off there...
if I have the address of the place you guys are staying at I can go pick him up. if it's in abbotsford, I can take the freeway there. as long as I don't go during rush hour it shouldn't take too long.

For the sake of getting the number of sets (best of 1, 3, or 5) needed to be completed:

(assuming a bracket of an even 32 entrants):

Brackets: 62 or 63 sets (depends on if GF goes to set 2, where 59 are best of 3's and 3/4 are best of 5's)

Pools, 8 pools with 4 per pool: 12 sets per pool, 96 sets total.

Pools, 4 pools with 8 per pool: 56 sets per pool, 224 sets total.

So that said, 4 pools with 8 per pool, even with best of 1's, will have more games than the entire brackets (winner's and loser's).

Just doing the math so you guys know how long each pool system will take.

So that said, I think that no matter which system we use, pools should be best of 1's for time purposes. I honestly believe that 4 pools would be more ideal for seeding purposes, but 8 pools may be more convenient for time purposes, especially if we want side events.

So my friend and I who live in BC but not in the Vancouver area might be coming down for this. We live in a small town with pretty much nobody to play but each other and we've never been to a tournament before but I think that we're not too bad even without the major experience. We've wanted to play competitively for a while now but have had a bad location hold us back. IF we do end up coming I'd like to ask that whoever does the pools/brackets to keep us separate(imagine spending a bunch of money and traveling like 8 hours just to play each other).

I would love to have a few Wiis hacked with Infinite replay and little to nothing else, so we can save matches without forcing people to put up with textures or anything in tournament.
Yeah we can bring this. His wii is hacked and it doesn't have textures/music/in game changes. It just has the replay hack and automatically goes to the settings of 3stock 8 minutes.

Will there be any melee setups at this? I'm not good at it but I'd love to play some melee especially seeing Blunted and Meta going to this. I'll even bring a GC + melee if there will be some interest in it.

for the tl;dr

Two more entrants in singles, one more team in doubles, a infinte replay hacked wii with brawl, really wants to be seperate in brackets/pools. Not 100% confirmed though. I'll probably post within the next couple of days saying how sure we are of coming.

We always separate people from the same areas to different pools.

Trust me, I've had a bad experience in Tri-Smash 2, where my first match was against liverymen (a guy I play against all the time from the same city), lost, then played my next match against Hillary (a guy who I also play against all the time... as well as it being stupid GaW dittos...), and got eliminated. So my entire brawl experience as far as tourneys go was playing against people I play against all the time >_>

We'll make sure it doesn't happen again.

Oh, and don't worry guys, I will actually try this tournament (I won't throw my matches to play melee lol). I've got 4/5/6/more characters I plan on bringing out this tournament, so watch out :p

The thing about going strictly by # of sets is that brackets will take relatively longer than it looks simply because after the first few rounds, the number of sets going on at a time decreases steadily. Playing the last 10 sets of the bracket will take way longer than playing the first 10 sets of the bracket because of this, and this drags it out considerably. Pools don't have this problem because we can make use of all the TVs at our disposal throughout the event. A better way to look at this would be to count the number of "rounds" each event would take, where a single round consists of all the sets that can be played in one period of time (roughly the time it takes to play one set). I already calculated a set of 8 pools of 5 to take 7-8 rounds to complete with 11 set-ups; pools of four would take 4-5 rounds to finish. Pools of 8 would, of course, take significantly longer. I just ran quick test bracket to see how many rounds a full 32 bracket would take, and it came it to 11-12 rounds, depending on Grand Finals. We get to the point where we can't use all the TVs at around round 4, and we quickly get to the point where 4 TVs is enough to run the bracket.

It would be nice to have Bo3 pools. Though it is time consuming, it doesn't actually take any longer than the bracket will. My goal is to get this tournament done as efficiently as possible so we can do all the things we want to do without running out of time, and depending on how long it takes to do doubles, we may be able to do Bo3 for pools.

As for the idea that 4 pools will be ideal for seeding, I'd have to disagree with that. There is going to be a heavy emphasis on seeding by region for this event in addition to the standard seeding my skill/pools. Having 8 1st seeds instead of 4 1st seeds gives us more freedom to move people around so people don't get stuck having to play a bunch of people from their own region, which is going to be a huge deal.

Great! =D You have my 100% guarantee that the two of you will not have to play each other in tournament. I always take the time to seed both pools and brackets properly, and this includes making sure people from the same region don't have to play each other. I've made a mistake or two in the past, but with only two people, I'd have to screw up pretty badly to let the two of you encounter each other in the bracket, and especially in pools. :chuckle: You have nothing to worry about.

That Wii is pretty much exactly the kind of thing I want for this. That would be greatly appreciated. As for Melee, there will be chance for you to play some friendlies, but only when it doesn't get in the way of the tournament. This means no Melee during singles pools and early in the brackets for both doubles and singles, but once we no longer need all the TVs, it won't be a problem. We will keep everybody updated as TVs become available.

What town are you from? and I'll bring a melee set-up to play later in the day probably. we'll likely only get to play it once most of the singles bracket is over with.
