Bounty List
How it works
I'm trying out something new to hopefully motivate lesser-known players (or OoS players) to beat big-name players. If you beat one of the players on the Bounty List in a singles tournament (winners or losers bracket) and your name is not on the Bounty List, then you receive the bounty prize for that player. Simple as that!

Brawl Bounty List
Dojo - $10
UltimateRazer - $10
Gnes - $10 (slain by Dphat)
LeeMartin - $5

Melee Bounty List
Darkrain - It doesn't matter, Randall won't let you win anyway. (slain by DoH)

General Rules
  • 3 Stock for Brawl. 4 Stock for Melee. 4 Stock for Brawl Minus.
  • 8 minute timer.
  • Items are set to "Off" and "None"
  • Matches are best of 3. Winners/Losers/Grand Finals are best of 5.
  • Controller port disputes will be resolved by Rock-Paper-Scissors or higher number with G&W's SideB.
  • Brawl: First round stage will be determined by stage strike system. Melee: Random with one Stage Strike or use Brawl method.
  • No player may choose a stage they have already won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players.
  • In teams matches one team will get ports 1 and 4, while the other team gets ports 2 and 3.
  • Make sure you fix your controller and your tag before you start playing. If a match is to be restarted due to controller functions, it must be agreed upon by both parties.
  • Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action.

MLG Rules In Effect
  • No use of Marth’s grab release infinites against Lucas and Ness.
  • No use of King Dedede’s grab infinites against Bowser, Donkey Kong, Luigi, Samus, and Mario.
  • No use of Metaknight’s infinite cape glitch.
  • No pausing a game without the other player's permission.
  • No use of an action that freezes a game, or otherwise disrupts standard gameplay.
  • Any infinite move must end before the affected character reaches 300%.
  • Players may request a blind pick of characters for the game 1 of a match.
  • [Stage Striking] For game 1 of each match, the higher seeded player/team must strike three stages from the list of starter stages. The lower seeded player/team must then strike 4 stages from the list of starter stages. The higher seeded player/team must then choose the game 1 stage from the remaining starter stages.
  • [Time Limit] If the timer runs out, the winner of the game will be determined by the following criteria in this order: stock and percentage. If stock is used to determine a winner, the highest number will win. If percentage is used to determine a winner, the lowest number will win. If both stock and percentage are tied, sudden death won’t be used and a tiebreaker Round will be played instead. In a tiebreaker round, stock will be set to 1, the timer will be set to 4 Minutes, and the same stage and characters must be used.
  • [Ledge Grab Limit] If the timer runs out and a player exceeds the ledge grab limit for that game’s stage, that player/team will forfeit the game. However, if the timer runs out and both players in a 1v1 match, or at least one player on each 2v2 team, exceed the ledge grab limit for that game’s stage, the penalty will not be enforced (instead, use the [Time Limit] rule above). The ledge grab limit on Norfair will be 45. The ledge grab limit on all other stages will be 35. The ledge grab limits only apply to games/tiebreaker rounds in which the timer runs out.

Other Rules
  • MikeHaze rule: No yelling or making abrupt noises at your opponent. This applies to EVERYONE, players and spectators. Simply talking to the players (and Exodia moments) are exempt.
  • Chibo's Video-for-the-masses rule: You cannot refuse to be recorded if you pay money to enter an event.

MLG Rules In Effect
  • [Ledge Grab Limit] If the Timer runs out and a Player exceeds the Edge Grab Limit for that Game’s Stage, that Player/Team will Forfeit the Game. However, if the Timer runs out and both Players in a 1v1 Match, or at least one Player on each 2v2 Team, exceed the Edge Grab Limit for that Game’s Stage, the penalty will not be enforced (See Gameplay Rules #16). The Edge Grab Limit on Norfair will be 45. The Edge Grab Limit on all other Stages will be 35. The Edge Grab Limits only apply to Games/Tiebreaker Rounds in which the Timer runs out.

Other Rules
  • Ledge Grab Limit Rule: Brawl Only. Characters are allowed to grab the ledge a total of 50 times per game. If you think that your opponent grabbed more than this, check the stats after the round. If it is exceeded the limit even by a single ledge grab you will lose your match (not the set). However, this rule can be ignored if BOTH players agree.
Might want to clarify this, Zac.

Unless it means:
1) You, under no circumstance, can grab the ledge more than 50 times during a single game.
2) If it goes to time, you lose if your edge grabs exceed 35 (45 on Norfair).

Are you trying to say, "You cannot grab the ledge more than 50 times per game, AND you cannot grab the ledge more than 35 (45 on Norfair) times if the game goes to time, or else you lose"?

It makes sense, I just wanted to know if I was reading it right.

San Antonio may show to this. We need to show Dallas that we love them too.

I'm not sure that I totally understand the new ledge grab limit rule.
Just break it down and read it piece by piece. It'd help.

"If the Timer runs out and a Player exceeds the Edge Grab Limit for that Game’s Stage, that Player/Team will Forfeit the Game."
This pretty much means what it says. It also implies that for teams, it only takes ONE player to exceed the Edge Grab Limit for the team to lose the game.

"However, if the Timer runs out and both Players in a 1v1 Match, or at least one Player on each 2v2 Team, exceed the Edge Grab Limit for that Game’s Stage, the penalty will not be enforced"
If both players in a 1v1 exceed the limit, there is no penalty.
If AT LEAST one player on each side of a 2v2 exceed the limit, there is no penalty.

"The Edge Grab Limit on Norfair will be 45. The Edge Grab Limit on all other Stages will be 35."
Self explanatory.

"The Edge Grab Limits only apply to Games/Tiebreaker Rounds in which the Timer runs out."
All of the above only apply when the timer in the match runs out.

=====

So basically, the jist of it is:

1) The rule only applies when the timer hits zero
2) If you breach 35 grabs on any level, or Norfair's 45 grab limit, you lose that game. If you're on a team, the entire team loses that game, even if just one person breaks the limit.
3) If both players do it, no penalty. If at least one person on each team does it, no penalty.

Understand now?

EDIT: Ninjad by Espy, curse you =(

[Time Limit] If the Timer runs out, the winner of the Game will be determined by the following criteria in this order: Stock and Percentage.

[Ledge Grab Limit] If the Timer runs out and a Player exceeds the Edge Grab Limit for that Game’s Stage, that Player/Team will Forfeit the Game. However, if the Timer runs out and both Players in a 1v1 Match, or at least one Player on each 2v2 Team, exceed the Edge Grab Limit for that Game’s Stage, the penalty will not be enforced (Instead, use the [Time Limit] rule above). The Edge Grab Limit on Norfair will be 45. The Edge Grab Limit on all other Stages will be 35. The Edge Grab Limits only apply to Games/Tiebreaker Rounds in which the Timer runs out.
The Ledge Grab Limit only applies if the timer runs out. The Ledge Grab Limit rule trumps the Time Limit rule: If the timer runs out then first check ledge grabs. If neither player exceeds the limit then use the Time Limit rule.

[Singles] If exactly 1 person exceeds the ledge grab limit, then the forfeit that game.
[Singles] If both players in a 1v1 match exceed the ledge grab limit, then neither player forfeits. Instead use the time limit rule to determine the winner.
[Doubles] If RED team has at least one person that exceeded the ledge grab limit while BLUE team's members did not exceed the ledge grab limit, the RED team forfeits the match.
[Doubles] If at least one member on both teams has exceeded the ledge grab limit, then neither team forfeits. Instead use the time limit rule to determine the winner.

19.If a Game is started without the approval of a Referee it will be restarted.
So... are we going to start having like... referees to monitor the match?

13.For Game 1 of each Match, the higher seeded Player/Team must strike three Stages from the list of Starter Stages. The lower seeded Player/Team must then strike 4 Stages from the list of Starter Stages. The higher seeded Player/Team must then choose the Game 1 Stage from the remaining Starter Stages.

14.After the Stage has been selected for Game 1 of a Match, each Player may select one Stage, from the list of Starter Stages or Counter-Pick Stages, that can’t be chosen for Games 2-11. The lower seeded Player will be given the opportunity to select a Stage first. The higher seeded Player will then be given the opportunity to select a Stage.
So bans are made before game 1 is started, I presume.

What would the referees have to monitor, Aero?

There's nothing on the rule set that requires it.

Who all from Austin is planning to go to this? I probably have a ride to Dallas, but I would need a ride back to Austin. If anyone would able to do that for me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

As far as the referee thing goes, just take it to mean this. Don't start your match until its called from the person who's runnning the bracket. Don't go to a TV that your game wasn't called on. If there's people there and they aren't playing tournament, kick them. If there's people there and they are playing tournament, YOU HAVE TO TELL THE BRACKET PERSON! DON'T JUST GO TO THE NEAREST OPEN TV!!!

This is a problem and it drives me insane. >.< I'll kick you in the shins. D:<

That probably bodes well for San Antonio.
Gives us more time to possibly show.

Should change the title too.
