Problem is that your explanations earlier were too vague, which led to others believing the more perverted manner that is usually associated to touching another person of the opposite sex. Most (if not close to all) women who are touched without enough reason to see you as a friend (not acquaintance) or their boyfriend will end up hitting you for such a push. In here though, perverted is consistent about 95% of the time. It used to be 99% 2-3 years back though.

As for speech, it does not really matter considering that everyone is raised in different places, environments, etc.

"Touching her" as vague as you first mentioned it yeah lingo nowadays describes "touching her" as a suggestive act towards the recipient and not literally all cases of touching her (poking, hand on shoulder, massaging). Most cases society sees the hug as a friendly gesture. Massaging aforementioned by Vale is mostly a gray area. If she single then yeah no problem. If she got a man, you must be on his cool side for him to let you massage her cause it may or may not be viewed as an intimate thing depending on what society you grew up with.

And yeah, I grew up differently with the concept of assuming personal spacing and unnecessary contact. If my interest got a man, I stray away from any potential drama by not causing any misinterpreted contact.

But this hypocrite **** I will not take.

Whole massage thing still seems odd, specially if any of these girls have a bf. also just "have a reason" is still too broad since this reason for touching could still be a perverted reason.
