I was exagerrating. Plants can't feel pain, they just have defensive mechanisms to perserve themselfs. Some people have taken that to mean plants have some sort of way of feeling pain, but in practice, using an instrument to try and pick up a signal... No signal picked up. So plants don't feel pain.

When it comes to plants crying, its ethylene (something a plant produces under stress, like leaf plucked off) and the ethylene produces a sound wave from vibrating.. And more stress = more sound wave picked up. This is actually helpful in determining the condition of the plant, but i dunno if you can count this as "crying" like an animal or human.
