Also Bowser Jr wasn't in Yoshi's Island that was Bowser as a baby, Bowser Jr is Bowser's eighth son from Super Mario Sunshine and New Super Mario Bros they are DIFFERENT characters.

Because he's the guardian of Star Road and without it's power Mario would never be able to defeat Bowser, thus evil would reign in the Mario Universe!

No not in the slightest. They could just ignore that game, Nintendo is absoloutly horrendous at keeping a consistant storyline for any franchise but especially Mario. Originally he was the older brother of Luigi plumbers (or carpenters) from Brooklyn, New York of Italian decent that stumbled into the Mushroom Kingdom via Warpipe. Then he was a twin with Luigi and they were born in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Also Yoshi's Island 2 screwed up any consistancy with the DK storyline as well but we all (by which I mean me and some other nuts) know that Nintendo is out to butcher and destroy the DK franchise.

Well Baby Bowser was around the same time when Mario was a baby unless he didn't age at all not a single but in 40 odd years for him to be the main villain in SMS than he has to be a seperate character also the fact that both anyone with a brain and Nintendo confirmed them to be seperate could have something to do with it.

He could work with the paintbrush and as Shadow Mario as his morph but otherwise he's a waste, and a difference could be that he thinks he's a badass these days unlike the Yoshi's Island days.

Aside from Toad (who I think deserves it more than either of them), I find the two of them to be the most deserving from the franchise.

At worst, we'll only get one new Mario character. Brawl won't have less than five and Doc ain't one of them!

Mr. L was basically a hypnotized Luigi in this sweet costume. He was actually one of the main villans and heroes in Super Paper Mario. Oh and here is your precious picture.

I want to clear something up ALOT of people think.

WHen someone suggests just 1 mario charater (Bowser Jr, Waluigi, Geno, Daisy...etc) half of the negative responses are "THERE ARE TOO MANY MARIO REPS!". Well I want to make something clear, there will be more, whether you like it or not. 3-5 more wouldnt even suprise me.

Now, how many Mario Reps were in Melee?
5 actual reps with Mario icons (Mario, Dr. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser)
2 with other icons (Yoshi, DK)

How many are in Brawl so far?
3 actual reps with Mario icons (Mario, Peach, Bowser)
4 with other icons (Yoshi, Dk, Diddy, Wario)

So there. 7-7. Already we got people going "TOO MANY MARIO REPS!!!" But that isnt exactly true. What is wrong with the following pattern?

I have no problem saying that Mario was overrepresented in Melee, and hoping that they'll correct that mistake for the future. Here's hoping.

That said, they're running out of good charecters for Mario, the trend you have, while true, is unsustainible, expect a logrithmic or maybe even negative parabola trend.
