Toad could make it in, here I'll make a moveset!
A=Toad attacks with his mushroom head
A side= Oh wait! I forgot he can't do anything! Silly me!

I know, I know. Not that funny, but still. Toad has no moveset and putting in such a generic Mario character would be like putting in a Koopa. Actually Koopa has a shell that could propvide a move set. Koopa for Brawl! just kidding
A moveset can be made for any character. When the first Smash Bros came out, Fox had never left his Arwing in any game, but he was still included. The creators of the game just had to be creative, that's all. Toad actually has more of a moveset then Fox did at that point in time.

Make one then. Go on.

I just find him to be unoriginal, even compared to Daisy and Waluigi. He's just Baby Bowser with a giant paintbrush. He also pretty much replaced the Koopa Kids.

And I hate his voice. SO much.
Toad wont be playable, get over it.
I will never accept that until Sakurai says, "Toad will not be a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii" in those EXACT words!

*goes mad*

What's so good about Bowser Jr? He looks exactly like Baby Bowser but wears a mask thing with crayon drawn on it...
He holds a freaking paintbrush! He would be a completely original character and if they used the popular idea of having him transform into Shadow Mario he would be one of the only characters that can transform.

He holds a paintbrush in ONE game he is in...

Shadow Mario? Definetly not a fan of that idea...

Does he have a unique moveset...without the idea of Shadow Mario?

LOL. I'm not taking the time to make an entire moveset. He could have moves from Super Mario Bros 2 and sports games (like Peach), as well as creative, unique moves that the developers come up with.

Oh, so he can't use his paintbrush cause it was only in one game? Well then, I guess I better phone up Sakurai and tell him to take F.L.U.D.D. out of Mario's moveset because it is only "in ONE game".

I think the pain brush is more than enough to work with for an original moveset. And shadow mario can be just be an attack not necessarily a transformation.

Truth be told, I'm not wild about the idea of Jr getting in. I don't know why, but something just seems... 'wrong', about it - like he just plain doesn't deserve it or something. Not to say that he doesn't have any accomplishments in his own right - he's definitely done more than those like Daisy and Waluigi - but he just doesn't strike me as an overly deserving character. Call it opinion, or whatever, but that's just how it strikes me.

I mean, Jr didn't even get one mention on Sakurai's poll. Even Petey managed to get at least one, and he's a boss now.

There aren't that many deserving Mario characters left - don't you guys think we should at least go for the character who would get the most positive fan response, if nothing else?

Toad isn't generic and look in the Toad thread for many many movesets.

I think Bowser Jr.'s inclusion in this game depends largely upon Mario Galaxy (which I know little to nothing about). If he has a major role in that game I'd expect him to be in, if not I wouldn't.

Toad literally has a 0% chance.

LOOK! There's Toad!

I only see Geno getting in. Smashbros is 100% fanservice anyway. This is why I see Geno getting in waaaay over bowser jr, because nobody likes him.

I too see Geno getting in over Bowser Jr. but I would prefer the little tyke. And whadda ya mean nobody likes him?
I see Geno getting in over Bowser Jr. ...After all, was Bowser Jr. even on Sakurai's poll? Maybe...but definetly not as high as Geno...

...and do you really think that the Square thing is really going to stop them?

I wouldn't say NOBODY likes Jr. He's just nowhere near as popular as Geno.

Straight-up, at every gaming convention, tournament and so forth that I go to, I call out "Who remembers SMRPG?!" and every time, nearly everyone cheers out, then goes on to talk about how kickass it is.

Jr didn't show up on Sakurai's poll once. Geno??? >_>

There is an official thread that contrains all the official threads...use IT instead of search...

Look for Toad under the Mario section of this...

http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=111421
Oh, thanks;). I mainly try to say away from the support threads (being jumped by crazy fanboys aint my cup of tie) but I want to see what others have to say about Toad.

Not generic?!? Be realistic, there isn't just one Toad, there is tons! Generic means common and you find like ten in every town in Paper Mario.
Pikachu!!! I choose you!!!

If I didn't know any better I'd say you're calling Pikachu generic. This is a Mario thread, I know, but yes Pikachu is generic but he has a moveset.

Hmm... do I smell an invalid argument?

Of course Pikachu has a moveset... he's in the game! Toad ISN'T! That's why he doesn't have one.
And, yes, both Pikachu and Princess Peach's man-slaves are generic, but Pikachu just happens to be the mascot of Pokemon. And, in fact, Toad is a character. We realized that in SMB2... and every other game that features him as a character.

But, personality, I don't see Toad in Brawl. I don't have an argument against him, but I just don't see him in it.

Yes, that was the smell of my rather stinky, lame argument. You don't have an argument against Toad? I'll help you with that. We saw Peach use her trademark, human-shield against Bowser and Toad's only used things that could mistaken for attacks in sports games. Having a moveset based entirely off of the sports games would also mean Shy Guy, Daisy, Waluigi, Koopa, Dry Bones, Boo, and other characters I'm way too lazy to name would ahve a shot at Brawl.

There is a singular Toad, I'm going to assume that you are a Geno supporter because it seems every other person around here either loves or hates Geno. Now remember in Super Mario RPG when he says "I'm the toad". Also Wario's Woods, Super Mario Bros 2 and Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga all have the singular toad.

Going, going, gone! There goes my point! There may be only one official Toad but there is multiple mushroom headed characters that are typically refered to as "Toads". I'm apologize for misleading you.
P.S. I actually am neutral on Geno.

Yeah there probably will be, and they will be among the worst characters added to brawls roster.

Geno i'd be fine with anyone else is just a wasted spot to me. Mario is a great series, but we don't need tons of filler characters for brawl. It's not an issue of "too many mario characters" it's that all the good mario characters are already in .

He's obscure because he's from a game that was from like 11 years ago... And Bowser Jr has a paintbrush and unlike Geno he is important to the series.

Old school games were a lot better than most of the ones that have come out today

Wow that's a biased statemente, just because he's from an old game doesn't mean he's obscure or not important to the series, certainly Sakurai's Poll could disagree with you, if it was like that Ice Climbers and Pit would have no space in the Brawl roster, and Bowser Jr. should've stayed as Yoshi's Island's bad guy, nothing else.

How is he at all important to the series?

Also Bowser Jr wasn't in Yoshi's Island that was Bowser as a baby, Bowser Jr is Bowser's eighth son from Super Mario Sunshine and New Super Mario Bros they are DIFFERENT characters.
