The blood-sucking ReDeads are simply more creative. Zelda doesn't need too many sword enemies, and I like the addition of zombie-like creatures to the series.
Agreed.

LoZ doesn't need too many sword enemies, but at least more Armored enemies with a relatively strong health which means difficult to defeat, Imo.

Despising the Mortal Draw attack and Iron Knuckles, the enemies of LoZ series are still relatively easy to defeat. >_>

Man, I was wondering why this thread wasn't sticked yet ?

Imo, this thread should be sticked due to the Kholdstare's explanations and conclusions about the origin of Bongo Bongo.

I disagree. It's a great thread that introduced many new theories and explanations, but it is not worthy of being stickied. If you look at the other stickied threads, they are all general Zelda threads that cover very broad areas of discussion, like "Favorite Zelda Poll", "General Zelda Discussion", or "News Thread". "Origin of Bongo-Bongo" just doesn't fit; even the OoT discussion thread isn't stickied, because the discussion is narrowed down to one game. The topic of this thread is narrowed to one small section of one game. I've enjoyed this thread just as much as anyone else, but I don't believe it has the potential to be stickied.

I unsticky threads that are entirely dead, such as SWF: Project Zelda and the Timeline Discussion threads. Those that get stickied, as Phantom said, are general, contests, and/or important threads, but as they make up the face of the room, we should not have unnecesarry dead weight up there. Stickies should also represent the common interests of the community itself.

I understand now Phantom/Spire. It's ok guys.

But, I have to say that this thread contains one of the best (If not the best) explanations of Bongo Bongo I have ever seen.

Makin movies makin songs & FIGHTIN ROUND THE W
Yeah, that really does make sense. Maybe there may be a connection as to why the Windmill drains the well when Link plays the Song of Storms? This really makes me think that the seals these people place on things aren't what they're cracked up to be. I mean, Ganon escapes over and over again and now Bongo Bongo escapes? They really need to get stronger seals...

I think this is one of the best theorys on the site (personally of course).

BTW is the shado realm the same as the twilight realm? If so I think it would make sence if bong-bongo was the guardian to the path of the shadow realm. I think of him as a gate ceeper.

Now about the Sheikahs' extinction, I believe they were wiped out during the Hylian War. "Here is gathered Hyrule's bloody history of greed and hatred" may have been written because Hyrule's races exterminated the Sheikah.

I was literally just showering and thinking about how the Sheikah are somewhat reminiscent of the Jews, and Ganondorf, of the many world leaders who've exacted death and tyranny over such populations as the Jews—with Hitler as the prime example.

It's interesting how Zelda started off so innocent, and over time, has become more and more in line with our own world. Termina has certainly helped this distinction.

How about you quit being such a ******* with billions of grammar problems. I can't read half the **** you write dude! This is about bongo bongo not another topic.

@Topic
And are we 100% sure it was Bongo Bongo that came out of the well? I mean it seems like the most viable explanation but nobody ever confirmed it as Bongo Bongo. I mean it could have been something else right? We didn't have the lens of truth at the time, and I doubt Bongo would fit in the well so I mean what evidence do we have?

Any ideas on who else it would be? Also, it seems to be his spirit, not in the form fought in the Shadow Temple.

Just adding onto volvagia's orgin in the oot manga volvagia was actually links pet that Gannon had possesed and made evil. As for some other things the arbirator grounds kinda remind me of the spirit temple. Also I love the bango bango theory one question I have is why is bongo bongo so big if he was orginally a regular person. Also I remeber my friend went through the shadow temple for me I was so afraid of it I still have yet to go through the shadow temple...

Link having a pet dragon.... And him naming it "Volvagia"...

Our theories are correct: Link is a pervert.

No, Volvagia isnt Link's pet. Volvagia was around YEARS before Link was even born. It was said that Volvagia was a horrible dragon who was plaguing the gorons. It was then that a great goron hero with the megaton hammer defeated Volvagia.

Dude, he thought you were talking about real life not zelda....

And this is clearly off topic of Bongo Bongo, we should change it to Origin of bosses.

Good read, Khold.

On the subject of Volvagia, not much anything is said about where she actually came from, except that years before the Imprisoning War, she became a threat to the Goron race, but was eventually bested by a hero who was Darunia's ancestor with the Megaton Hammer, until she was revived.

I'm not sure if she has any relation to Barba (the dragon boss from Zelda II), but I doubt she has relation to Stallord; Stallord's stature is significantly different, and he's found in a different area.
yeah, great read

Bongo Bongo is probably a twilight creature, look at Zant, the way he moves when you battle him, eccentric battle strategy he uses and Bongo Bongo uses music or should I say death music. *gasp*

I just realized, Bongo Bongo can't be a twilight. I don't think the twilights are that evil when they have Midna ruling it.
Man, this boss is a mystery to talk about. I need more creative thinking!

But I do have to say this, Bongo Bongo is a really cool and scary boss to fight. Just reaching to the Boss Door is just deadly!

Good theory, never really thought about it myself the same with some of the others.

Although about Twinrova, aren't they the twin witches who possessed the female leader of the Gerudos (Narbia or something, forgot her name) and then fused together to be Twinrova, how are they Gannon's mother? And which one because both can't be his right?

I think bongo bongo serves as a sort of cerberous guarding the gate to the shadow realm (twilight realm). although defeated, link didnt need to venture any further into the dungeon so he did not enter or unlock any twilight dangers.

I agree with this completely. (The topic Creator) I'm surprised OoT was E for everyone.

I just realized that the creepy images on the walls in the Shadow Temple may be two hands lifting Bongo Bongo's head...

See the portraits on the walls? The fact that BB's head is missing leads me to believe that the Sheikah drew portraits of two hands lifting the head possibly as mockery of BB, following his execution, as a warning to other races, or both.

They were his surrogate mother or adoptive mother according to Navi. So in other words Ganon is either an orphan or his parents ditched him.

The portraits on the wall don't show any eyes. Perhaps Bongo Bongo was blind and made the Lens of Truth to let him see. Being blind and a drummer? Perhaps he played the bongos for money in Kakariko if he couldn't get a job because no one would hire a blind man. After he made the Lens of Truth, he could then see. With the ability to see, he steals the Hover Boots to sell for money, but is caught and punished.

Too crazy to be true?

It doesn't explain the Well, though.

I don't think he was blind; he probably used the Lens of Truth to conceal the chambers where the Bottom of the Well now lies. Bongo drums could have possibly be played for necromantic rituals or something.

First, I think that the Shadow Temple was used as a prison during the Hyrulean Civil War that started (in my opinion) forty years before the events of Ocarina. Thirty years after the start of the war, it ended shortly after Link was born and left in the care of the Deku Tree. Link was about ten when OoT began.

On the topic about Bongo Bongo, I believe he was a man who lived in Kakariko above the well. He was a warden- type person in the Shadow Temple. He built the torture chambers and cells below his house and added a tunnel to go to the Shadow Temple quickly (by the events of OoT the tunnel has been closed off by the Sheikah). He also created the Lens of Truth and issued them to guards at the prison so they could see through the traps and avoid the toils people without it would have to go through.
Eventually, it was discovered that the man was a spy for the enemy tribe(s) in the Civil War. As punishment, he was given a very slow and painful death. First, his lower body was chopped off (possible explanation as to why BB has no legs?). The Sheikah worked their magic to keep him from bleeding out as they continued. Next, his hands were severed and, finally, he was beheadded.
The Sheikah discovered the tunnel going back to his house and the torture chambers, and it was consequently sealed off. Next, his house was torn down and a well was built. Impa sealed the traitor's spirit at the bottom. All the Lenses of Truth were ordered to be destoryed, but someone saw the possible benefits and kept one for himself.

Although, now that I think about it, that seems like a pretty good idea for a fanfic...
