Imagine a time when One Piece was finished.

What if Oda drew fights that had no reason to happen during the story but people wanted to see happen anyway 'after the end'?

We don't know exactly how strong these "*******" chefs are, but the Schibukai are world known and not a group of people to mess with. Granted there were some weaklings (Crocodile), Mihawk is the BEST swordsman in the world, so it would be insult to him if ******* chefs were able to give him a rough fight, let alone beat him.

I do think it's insult to Zoro that when he's not sleeping or getting lost, he's training. You never see stuff like that from Sanji or Luffy, and yet, Zoro holds no clear advantage over the other guys.

They're both on the same level and will probably stay that way for the rest of the series. Oda wouldn't have them be friendly rivals if one overshadowed the other in power.

I just think it's an insult to Zoro to have him tied with Sanji or be close to him in skill. If Sanji is not a fighter, he's their head chef, who supplies them with food. What does Zoro do if he's not fighting? Aside from sleeping, and diving into the water whenever Chopper decides to jump off, he practically is useless. I do admit, i favor Zoro more in terms of personality and character, but at the same time, I feel he doesn't have much uses if Sanji can fight at the same level as him.

Its been heavily hinted (but not confirmed) by Oda and other people within the story that Zoro is the first mate/second in command on the ship.

^ True, but he has never displayed the skill to be a strategist let alone a natural leader. Truthfully, if Luffy went out, I would envision Nami leading the crew, because she knows what to do. Zoro may have the title, but that's all.

Edit: Actually, the one time I saw some leadership/second in command action from him was when he convinced Luffy to let go of Going Merry despite Usopp's protests. Or was it him telling Luffy to deal with the fact Usopp left them? I forgot.

zoro is always beating the person slightly stronger than sanji's opponent, though that's not really saying much

i would argue that zoro is slightly stronger, if only because he has facial scars, which everyone knows trumps facial hair (see: luffy)

luffy - buggy
zoro - kabaji

luffy - arlong
zoro - hachi
sanji - shark guy

luffy - crocodile
zoro - mr 1
sanji - mr 2 bon clay

luffy - rob lucci
zoro - kaku
sanji - wolf guy

i think oda has already made it a point that zoro is 2nd in strength but sanji is very close. their rivalry is entertaining, but i think most readers would automatically assume that zoro has a slight upper hand. its like a goku vegeta type thing, except not as heated

The difference in strength between Kaku and Wolf Guy wasn't by much, which is disappointing. Don't get me wrong, I love the humor Zoro and Sanji give in their arguments, but the difference in strength should be a clear cut obvious. If there was a comparison I had to make in terms of strength levels, it would be that Zoro is Trunks, and Sanji is Piccolo. Both strong and capable, but Trunks would wipe the floor with him.

Zoro offered to take Luffys pain so did Sanji
But when Zoro hit Sanji in the ribcage Sanji got knocked out. so if that Knocked out Sanji Imagine what Luffys pain would of did to Sanji

Well...after Zoro went total ****** after that...he was knocked out for a long time lol. Though I do agree, I always felt like Zoro owned Sanji in the stamina/endurance department.

For the sake of character, we should allow Oda to not explicitly acknowledge a more-than-likely Zoro superiority.

discussing it is kind of useless

Then we shouldn't even bother discussing predictions and story lines. Yes Oda has all control over what transpires in the OP universe, but discussing and debating questions like these are fun.

Sanji's goatee makes him look...********. Hope he shaves that thing.

Haha, well, I'm just not feeling it. Nami looks great. Robin looks more mature. Franky...well...at least Oda kept his fressssh hair. Other then that...I'm just confused about him. Usopp looks great. Chopper is still super naive (which is annoying). Still indifferent on Brook, though he look super tall now?

Read the latest chapter. Good stuff for the most part. Now I just want them reuniting finally, and sailing off.

defeating pacifista with ease now. maybe they were imbued with some kind of fruit power o.o cuz sentoumaru said luffy used haki to defeat them. but it seemed like zoro and sanji defeated them with brute force (unless they can use haki now too lol.) or maybe haki just makes u stronger haha

Virg Theory time! Gather round kids, and I'll tell you a tale!

When Rayleigh was teaching Luffy about Haki, he broke them down into three categories: the Color of Observation (Mantra), the Color of Armaments (Shield), and the Color of the Conqueror (Hella ****ing balls-to-the-wall Invisible Mind Explosion). He also states in Chapter 597 Pg. 16 that people tend to gravitate towards one. We also know that Luffy is one of the few to have the Color of the Conqueror and, like Shanks, Rayleigh, and Roger, it's going to be his bread and butter because of it. It's the most powerful of the three and he's going to take advantage of that. Now, I believe Sanji and Zoro have also learned Haki in this time (there is no way Ivankov and Mihawk are haki-less at their respective strengths) and each, while knowing both, will gravitate towards one of the other colors. If I had to guess, I'd say Zoro would learn Observation and Sanji would learn Armaments, but it's just a guess. That's not saying they will only learn one form, but will just specialize in one. They're the Big Three of the crew; they have to have all bases covered.

Hey, I'm currently on episode 220 of the anime, but I'm having trouble finding a good stream for it. Up to this point I've been using the ASpeedy mirror of animecrazy.net, but all of the recent episodes are becoming desynched with the sound for some reason. I tried using the other mirrors, but they either have the vids taken down, broken, or are suffering from the same desynching problems. :(

So, does anyone know a good site that I could go to? Preferably one with good quality and with subs provided by the Kaizoku-Fansubs group (because they have the highest quality subs/videos out of the other groups I've seen).

I'd really appreciate it! :)

watchop or gogoanime is the only site that I know that has good streaming One Piece episodes. I went to watchop to catch up with all the One Piece episodes I missed since they have them all listed.

Also, reading the One Piece manga now. :3

Well we know Luffy has shown flashes of Haki when he is pissed, but I think so has Zoro. Two thoughts that come to mind are Ashura and when he cut through Mr. 1 (steel). Unless that's not haki and just some crazy mumbo jumbo Oda gave Zoro. In any case, yea, I'm sure both Zoro and Sanji will be specializing in their respective Hakis. They just didn't need to put on a show like Luffy did lol.

I wonder if the other crew members are gonna learn haki. Assuming they go by the same formula of each member fighting a strong opponent, you figure those opponents will have haki. So, the only way to beat an opponent who has haki is to learn haki yourself?

Do you guys suppose Usopp is as strong as Luffy from 2 years ago now, or a bit more better/still weak?

I strongly doubt that. Usopp does not look like he would be able to take on Lucci, Crocodile, Moria and the many other people luffy defeated or fought. Still we'll have to wait and see.

Usopp is as strong as his gadgets and items are. With that being said, I'm sure he's got a bunch of new stuff up his sleeve. Granted, I also think he's one of the best fighters if the situation is right for him (Like when he fought Luffy).

It will be interesting to see how future fights play out. The normal formula has been where each crew mate takes on one opponent. I can see a lot more 2 vs 1 fights. Perhaps Chopper and Usopp teaming up to fight a strong guy, or Brook and Franky. Robin has yet to fight, so I'm sure Oda will keep her out of that, and I'm sure Nami has some crazy weather shenanigans.

Oh and Usopp may not be super strong, but I'm sure he would have no problem taking out those blood thirsty pirate brothers...bunch of scrubs.

Off topic: Does anyone ever feel tired of the same old formula when it comes to anime? We have a clear cut main character who ends up being on top of everyone (Goku, Luffy, Naruto, Ichigo, etc. ), and then you have the other allies who start out on their level, but slowly become further and further away in strength. Does anyone know of an anime/manga where the main character is relatively on the same level as his allies throughout the entire series?

Robin has yet to fight, so I'm sure Oda will keep her out of that.

yea its gets pretty annoying to see how much stronger the main characters get over the starting cast. But its best to wait for us to see how strong Luffy is over his crew

if luffy can selectively activate gear 2...does that mean he can increase blood flow to his brain and become remarkably intelligent for a short while?

I feel zoro would have the attcking haki, best example why is him cutting through mr1. Also I remember in a episode of the anime they gave zoro conqueror haki, now i know that was a filler part but i sort of feel like they might of gotten the ok from oda to do that which means he to might have that power.

Also before people were arguing who was stronger zoro or sanji and i dont see a argument for sanji being stronger at all. Zoro is always the guy facing the #2 man of the enemy's crew, Zoro's dream is to be the strongest swordsman sanji's is to see the big blue. this i feel is the defining difference between these two and the reason zoro will always be the stronger of the two

edit: i am also getting tired of the main character always getting so much stronger then the rest of his crew, i hope the time jump has made zoro strong enough to be close to luffy level again.

Also i hope robin learned attack haki she would be so broken if she can snap spines in half with haki

zoro has always been close to luffy's level. he has equal levels of pain endurance/determination and when they fought at the beginning of the arabasta arc they were pretty even. luffy just gets the stronger opponent because zoro is indebted to luffy and respects luffy as a captain, and luffy has a stronger lineage which makes him more infamous

zoro pushes himself to cut steel and endure ridiculous amounts of pain: color of armaments

sanji is always planning a step ahead: color of observation

i dunno i think those would suit them better

that's a cool theory though
