White beard wasn't as God like as portrayed but he was pretty ****ing bad ***. In a 1v1 fight, he could take any pirate ANYONE. Too bad he had to die D:

If he weren't old and dying, I think he was probably as close to god-like as anyone in One Piece (excluding Roger, since we don't know too much about him at this point).

have you guys noticed how much better one piece has gotten? compare the manga and anime of how it was back then to now and you'll see a big difference.

its been gradual for the most part, but during impel down i really noticed "wow this storytelling has really gotten godlike"

and thats when i decided to reread the manga haha, the alvida and buggy stuff was so simple and comical. everythings really complex now but we grow as the story grows

yeah that what i mean, if oda could have his way one piece would be longer but he is not allowed to add things which aren't ultra important so he puts those ideas in the anime. right now im in the thirller bark arc so i wonder if im close

hehe it's not that they're 'no longer evil.' they are still the same people, they just abandoned their obedience to the world government. in fact, that makes them 'evil' in the world government's eyes.
