I personally don't know why the creator ever said that not all characters would be returning. Why can't they just let all of them return? Then everyone would be happy. There's more than enough room for tons more characters.

Because there are people like Y Link, Pichu, Doc and some others that were a waste of time.

Yeah, clone characters. But it's been made pretty clear over the years that some people prefers these clones over the originals by huge amounts. Falco for example. He has tons of fans. As does Roy. I don't want anyone to be disappointed with this game by removing their favourite characters.

I am sorry but the last I checked, almost everyone hates Roy and likes Marth better. Falco is a cloned moveset but plays way differently then Fox as for some other clones such as Roy. Just about the same moveset(except regular A)and he sucks.

and yeah, i guess there are about...oh, say 10 people that still like to use roy more than any other character.

even though they are clones, however...they have still become a part of the smash scene, and it will be painful to not see them on future character select screens.

Anyway, I really want Young Link to return. Really badly... not as Cel Link either, as proper Young Link... I was happy on Melee to see Young Link in there, because he's the true Link, he's been on all Zelda games except 1, & Adult Link has been on 2 Zelda games... So why can't Young Link be in it too?[/rants]

Apart from that, I do think that all characters should return, maybe with different movesets. Like Ganondorf for example. His moveset doesn't suit him at all, whichever way I look at it really. It's a clone of Captain Falcon's moveset, they couldn't be less related as characters...

I personally think that Ganondorf should be given an all new Ganondorf only moveset, & his old moveset be given to Samurai Goroh for people who liked his old moveset.

sorry but i think young link was fun at first just to see Link as a he was but i mean he wasnt really all that good leave cute to Pikachu and Kirby and give me some rock hard characters lolz jk but i'm glad they he said that some will be gone for the reason if they didnt say that what would any of us have to talk about lolz

Indeed. WW was a very good Zelda, despite its general easiness (a curse that seems to be here to stay, as TP was even easier) and had what is probably the most epic final fight in a Zelda to date. Plus the graphic style is cool beyond belief.

But about that people... I think there was a quote that put it best: "When Wind Waker came out, a large percentage of people rejected it on the grounds that it wasn't a sufficently gritty and realistic take on the adventure of a fairy boy who collects hearts and magical gems"

I prefer OoT over WW too. Not because WW was cel-shaded, but because OoT was dark, had a better storyline, and everything was memorable. When someone mentions WW, the first thing I remember is... sailing.

Anyway, it looks like OoT isn't going without any representation this game either. From how it looks in one of Zelda's screenshots, Zelda still has Din's Fire; therefore I see her still having her OoT-based moveset. I'm still unsure about Sheik though, because though she has her OoT moveset she's still donning her TP look.

And on a faster note:
I'm on the side of every character staying
Best of luck if your main/best gets the boot
Cel-Shaded Link > Young Link
Fierce Deity Link > Any Link ever

I know. That's what I meant. Original link was not attempted to be realistic. Any representation of him afterwards was always a cartoon. Pretty much the first Zelda that attempted to endarken things a bit was OoT because before that, every Zelda was nothing but a fairytale, and awesome at that. And people seem to think WW is too "kiddy" for a Zelda, which, having played every Zelda that came after Zelda 2, is, to say the least, confusing to me.

what do you mean young link's a waste of time?! they don't need to get rid of him just luigify him and make him WW link. think of the possibilities, he could change the direction of the wind with his >B to send enemies flying in that direction, he could have the counter attack he had in WW, and as a final smash he could use that sword spin attack where he goes all over the stage and hurts everyone in his way, and he could wear his pijama's that he used on the second quest as a costume.

i dont know what everyone has against clones it's not like they're exactly the same thing. marth has strong areal attacks and is a fast character compared to roy and does more damage with the tip of his sword but roy has kind of weak areal attacks but really strong ground attacks does more damage with the center of his sword and is cosiderably slower than marth which makes the way you control them completely different roy is just harder to master than marth.
