Anyway on a more serious note. I really think im done with this game on a competitive level. Im just not good and my playstyle wont allow me to be good. I was playing TUSM earlier and even though i knew this all along it really stuck out tonight. This game punishes you for being offensive. There were matches where i did 200% more damage(i checked the stats) and still lost. I mean of course these were just friendlies and i wasn't really trying or anything(tusm probably wasn't either in his defense) But i mean it's not like my playstyle is going to change drastically from friendlies to tournaments. Maybe in tournaments i wont go for spikes and kill myself before 50% But thats all that will change. I just honestly don't have the patience to just walk back and forth looking for a opening. The only char that i can play with my playstyle and win is mk(which im not going to do) I honestly will never be good playing a fighter where being offensive puts you at a disadvantage. I always said that i hate when i lose with peach even though i outplay them and blaming the loss on her lack of ko power when in reality im not outplaying anyone as my style of play isn't the right way. Im kidding myself if i think i would win playing like that. Arrg.

Maybe you're playing the wrong character. I play Marth and I am aggressive. I also **** almost everyone I play with MARIO lately, and I am aggressive. You just have to get better. Being offensive is possible. You just can't rush recklessly, there's a difference

Kendall, I know exactly how you feel. You too, Evan. The game is too one-dimensional the way it is now, and heavily favors a defensive playstyle. It's pretty ********. There doesn't seem to be any quick fix, and nothing ever feels like "enough."

Meh, it all depends. As a game by itself, it's amazing. Competitive-wise, it leaves much to be desired.



OK. I would rather see a game where more than 3 characters win tournaments, and even three is being a little lenient. I used to think Melee was all Fox and Falco, maybe some Marth and Captain Falcon, but now I ealize that many more characters are tournament viable (See: Genesis). Balanced Brawl, though nothing more than a novelty, similar to that of Brawl+, aims to increase the usage of more characters. I mean, even Brawl+ did a good job of that, but that's more for people aiming for a........"better" game of Brawl.

You know what, I think that's the motivation I was looking for. I'm gonna "quit" Brawl too. I'm going back to Melee.

lmao, most of the top players except Ally are aggressive. Don't play defensive characters if you don't want to camp. There are a lot of viable characters in this game, seeing as there are only like 4 MK players that are S-Class, and our nearest one is moving to Ohio.

Melee is amazing though. I wish I was good, and had people to play with.

@Xzax: You play MK. All of your arguments are null and void. You sold your soul.

@Evan: Eh, I've been feeling kind of "meh" about Brawl since before Matt's. I had that week or so where I felt like playing it, but besides the whole skill issue, it's just not really that fun anymore. I'm sticking around the Pika/Zelda boards for the community (and you guys, I guess, but I can see y'all offline, lol) and to finish up a few projects, but when it's a chore for me to practice and try to get better, that means I'm not having fun and it's time to quit. Maybe not forever.... and I'm sure I'll still play. But definitely not on any hardcore level.

I don't want to start bashing Brawl and being a killjoy for people who still like the game, because I loved it too at one point.... not gonna hate on anyone for not losing that. But for me, it's starting to become more and more obvious how not fun Brawl is on a competitive level compared to other games. Watching tournaments for Melee and Street Fighter got me more excited than Brawl tournaments do at this point. That's sad, because I don't even play those games.

SF is SUSPENCEFUL, which is probably why you enjoy watching it (I love watching SF) Melee is just fast, and especially to an untrained eye, everything just seems aggressive, random, and explosive. I can understand a preference of these games. I myself am extremely versed in Brawl, and enjoy spotting and picking out top level mindgames and movements that are probably boring to watch if you don't understand it, or if it's just not your cup of tea.

Wow your dumber then I thought. Practicing and working on things doesn't change because I use MK. MK isn't uber broken and still takes some kind of skill. And if you say spamming nado or anything like that you are truly a fool.

Chibo bans MK from his tournaments, the state will lack and people will decrease. If MK was out to be what you make him you wouldn't be hated or argued about banning MK. Your just a little ***** and can't handle MK. Grow a pair and get better Mark. Ban MK from your tournies and guess what will happen, people will loose exp. vs MK and then the state will lack as Vex has said. But if you wanna keep him banned, F YALL IM GOING TO NJ

Um the point is Chibo is a little baby and cannot handle a character that is obviously not bannable. If the SBR banned him and Chibo made it offical Philly would ban him, then its ok. But he supplies us with no good reasons and it all seems like he wants to benefit himself. Who here hasn't heard Chibo ***** about MK before, like c'mon.

I like arguing with Chibo because its funny to look at the crap he can pull out of his ***, very entertaining.

I don't understand why you joined EC xzax, thers like no point because nobody in that crew is going to give you any kind of respect at all. They're not going to include you in their crew battles and their not going to team with you.

Unless your just the lazy type that gets attention for just riding the crew and doing absolutely nothing theres no reason for you to be in that crew.



You say that but you can't tell me that its easier to get into crew battles if your in EC then if you were in ToS. You just told me yourself I wouldn't be included but yet I've got the #1 or #2 spot in the ToS line up now.

That's because you're not that good, lmao. That has nothing to do with the quality of either crew, both of which are fine crews. Enemy Controller is more powerful in terms of average player skill, especially considering the resources at their disposal, and hence your current power level would not quite cut it on their roster for a crew battle.

Possibly. Idk. There are times where i feel like my peach is CRAZY good and i want to show it off. Then i play TUSM and i get psyched out cause he just stays there and do nothing and i feel like (ok fine if u just stay there im going to rush in and whoop that dumb *** penguin) And then i get shieldgrabbed 50 times. Arrrrrg. Then my anger from those matches goes into other matches where he will beat me falcon/ike etc(he and i both know he can't really beat me with those chars) I just get to angry sometimes. I need to work on that.(Where is my paramore cd at?)


I know my peach has gotten better. Rush used to 2 stock me. We go even now. I used to get 2 stocked by marth's. I've beaten way more then i loss to now. I even took terrance and xzax's mk down to last life high percent with peach. It's only TUSM'S stupid *** penguin.

I think xzax is better but the way u put it you make it seem xzax is 20x better then him. Fact is xzax has it easier cause he plays mk. You can't deny that and thats bascialy what mib was saying. Matt devotes time into the one character he uses. Others do the same with one or multiple characters. Doesn't take anything away from the player if they are good with top tiers if those are the characters they choose to use. We all have the option to choose the same chars from the roster. No MK johns, it's just sad at this point. MK may not have a horrible matchup, but a lot of characters have close matchups with him. Even trash like sonic. Step it up people
