Smash Legend
I should have mentioned that Geno (along with his task) is a central part of that game's plot.SMRPG was basically the first in the Paper Mario series, before he was made paper.

Elaborate.I think making Geno playable in Smash 4 might have some problems.
Brawl was too limited when it came to characters. Max reps for SSB4 should be 6 or 7!
Pikachu
Pokemon Trainer
Mewtwo (Buffed)
Lucario
Jigglypuff
Plusle & Minun
Generation 5 Pokemon
They should have did this when they made brawl. Have 4 be the max is just too limited.
Oh and Mario and Zelda could be...(Don't know much bout Zelda series)
Mario
Luigi
Peach
Bowser
Bowser Jr./Shadow Mario
Dr. Mario (Fully Decloned) or Geno
Rosalina
Link
Zelda/Sheik
Ganondorf (Let him use sword)
Toon Link
Toon Zelda/Tetra
Midna
Tingle (don't know if i spelled it right)
His popularity may say otherwise. And he only had one big role in that game, so what? He made a cameo appearance in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. That just proves he at least had SOME value.Geno does not deserve to be in Smash at all. He was in only one Mario game. He was important only in one Mario game. He is not important to the whole Mario franchise, Nintendo, and Square Enix. He is not even a recurring character in Mario spin-off games. Look, if Geno magically gets his own spin-off franchise before SSB4, he is not getting in.
The only important role ROB ever played was as a driver on Mario Kart DS.Lol Ice Climbers + Pit were only in one game (I think)
Not counting Smash games, Pit's game had a sequel on :gameboy:.Lol Ice Climbers + Pit were only in one game (I think)

This can explain the popularity for any one-timer (like possibly Midna) or characters who appear in only a few games (Captain Syrup).
Square Enix can go to hell.He got a cameo in Mario And Luigi, but beyond that, the reason he hasn't appeared is likely due to Squenix still holding the rights to the character.
You are ignorant if you are gonna use that argument as a counterpoint.Lol Ice Climbers + Pit were only in one game (I think)

You guys say Geno is so awful, and yet all you can do is say "He was only in one game, it will never happen". That's not any evidence against him at all. What is so terrible about Geno? Just that people like him?
Fanboys? No. Yaoi Fangirls which seem to plague the fanbase? Yes.If Smash 4 has to have a rep from Sqare Enix, then it should be Sora, because he doesn't have a ridiculous amount of fan-boys.
On the bright side, SMRPG got a re-release on the Virtual Console, unlike certain games referenced in Smash (*cough*Earthbound*cough*). It may not be much, but it's something.Geno:
a) Is unrecognizable to most people who would buy SSB4. Sakurai has said that he does not want to put an emphasis on Japanese-only characters. Why? Because no-one outside of Japan would recognize them. Geno is in a similar position. (Anyone who reads this post and immediately flames me about how Geno is not Japan-only cannot read)
b) Did not appear in Mario Hoops. This may seem minor, but he seemed like an incredibly logical inclusion in a game partnering Square w/Mario.
c) As has been said before, he appeared in two games in a series w/how many? Gotta be over a hundred by now.
d) Geno did not do well on the Melee polls, and nothing happened to increase his popularity between Mele and Brawl.
Why does no one suggest Crono? I mean, his game got a re-release for the DS, for crying out loud!If Smash 4 has to have a rep from Sqare Enix, then it should be Sora, because he doesn't have a ridiculous amount of fan-boys.
Sure, but at least people will know that he exists.SMRPG is not the only game that got a re-release on the Virtual Console so it is not anything special.
those will be on DSiware, I believe.Sure, but at least people will know that he exists.
On a side note, it's a shame that portable games haven't been emulated for the VC...![]()
That's great!those will be on DSiware, I believe.
Here you go:this may be off topic, but could you give me the link to MYM6? I wanna post all my movesets.
Well, so much for that, then. They wouldn't know that he's symbolic of the Nintendo/Square alliance that was made back in the day, either.Yes, those people will know Geno exists... and they will recognize that Geno is not important to the whole Mario franchise since Geno doesn't appear in Mario spin-off games... so they would wonder why the hell is Geno doing in Smash if he is not even one of the faces of the Mario franchise.
a) Lucas. Reconsider your point.Geno:

If the game is symbolic, everything in the game is symbolic, including characters. The name is quite irrelevant.Geno is not symbolic of the Nintendo/Square alliance back in 1996. Super Mario RPG, the game itself, is the real symbol of that alliance. It is called Super Mario RPG, not Super Geno RPG.
But see, while they may symbolic, they were not original characters created for the purpose of the game. Characters like Geno, Mallow, Boshi and the Axem Rangers were. Also, there are only four true faces to the franchise: Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser, all of whom were already accepted into brawl. So ****, it's time to include characters from the Mario series who AREN'T faces for the franchise. Characters such as Paper Mario, Bowser Jr/Shadow Mario, and Geno.Chrono would be okay, I guess.
Edit: Well, if characters from SMRPG are symbolic, then we already got three of them in Smash. Mario, Peach, and Bowser. At least those three are some of the faces of the Mario franchise. Geno is not one of the faces of the Mario franchise.
I don't really think that Toad even uses a bazooka in the Mario games (unless I'm mistaken). It was a throw-away quote in SMRPG, for all intents and purposes.I prefer toad over anyone.his playstyle would be fun. he would have bad jumps, but he would be as fast as captain falcon. he could pluck out teammates who are stuck in the ground. this would make toad a valuabble character in SSB4. and mabye alot of people will main him. this time, toad won't leave his bazooka at home. I will have fun using toad!
throw away quotes are like loop holes for me. and besides, Toad + bazooka= epic winI don't really think that Toad even uses a bazooka in the Mario games (unless I'm mistaken). It was a throw-away quote in SMRPG, for all intents and purposes.
It would be neat to play as him, though. It's too bad that he jumps like ****.
What if this is the last Smash?Anyway, expecting new Mario characters in each successive Smash is a high-risk gamble, as we're running out of notable series reps from there.
