Brawl was too limited when it came to characters. Max reps for SSB4 should be 6 or 7!

Pikachu
Pokemon Trainer
Mewtwo (Buffed)
Lucario
Jigglypuff
Plusle & Minun
Generation 5 Pokemon

They should have did this when they made brawl. Have 4 be the max is just too limited.
Oh and Mario and Zelda could be...(Don't know much bout Zelda series)

Mario
Luigi
Peach
Bowser
Bowser Jr./Shadow Mario
Dr. Mario (Fully Decloned) or Geno
Rosalina

Link
Zelda/Sheik
Ganondorf (Let him use sword)
Toon Link
Toon Zelda/Tetra
Midna
Tingle (don't know if i spelled it right)

That would be in a perfect world. (Although you may replace Midna with Vaati)
@ Geno stuff
Please don't put Geno in my Smash Bros.:(

Geno does not deserve to be in Smash at all. He was in only one Mario game. He was important only in one Mario game. He is not important to the whole Mario franchise, Nintendo, and Square Enix. He is not even a recurring character in Mario spin-off games. Look, if Geno magically gets his own spin-off franchise before SSB4, he is not getting in.

His popularity may say otherwise. And he only had one big role in that game, so what? He made a cameo appearance in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga. That just proves he at least had SOME value.

You guys say Geno is so awful, and yet all you can do is say "He was only in one game, it will never happen". That's not any evidence against him at all. What is so terrible about Geno? Just that people like him?

These articles may explain it:

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EnsembleDarkhorse
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/EnsembleDarkhorse/VideoGames

This can explain the popularity for any one-timer (like possibly Midna) or characters who appear in only a few games (Captain Syrup).

He got a cameo in Mario And Luigi, but beyond that, the reason he hasn't appeared is likely due to Squenix still holding the rights to the character.
Square Enix can go to hell.

Lol Ice Climbers + Pit were only in one game (I think)
You are ignorant if you are gonna use that argument as a counterpoint.

Ice Climbers may have only one game but that's exactly how many games the whole franchise have. That automatically makes them the most important characters in the franchise with only one game.

Geno hails from the Mario franchise. How many games does this franchise have? More than 100. Geno was only in one Mario game. He is not important to the whole Mario franchise.

That's the big difference between Ice Climbers and Geno.

Oh, and R.O.B. was important to both Gyromite and Stack-Up where he was used as a controller to play those games. R.O.B. is basically the mascot of his own franchise even though it only had two games.

Geno:

a) Is unrecognizable to most people who would buy SSB4. Sakurai has said that he does not want to put an emphasis on Japanese-only characters. Why? Because no-one outside of Japan would recognize them. Geno is in a similar position. (Anyone who reads this post and immediately flames me about how Geno is not Japan-only cannot read)

b) Did not appear in Mario Hoops. This may seem minor, but he seemed like an incredibly logical inclusion in a game partnering Square w/Mario.

c) As has been said before, he appeared in two games in a series w/how many? Gotta be over a hundred by now.

d) Geno did not do well on the Melee polls, and nothing happened to increase his popularity between Mele and Brawl.

N88_2004, don't forget that Japan-only DS game called Itadaki Street DS. It had Mario characters and Dragon Quest characters, but no Geno.

Edit: corrected the spelling of the DS game

On the bright side, SMRPG got a re-release on the Virtual Console, unlike certain games referenced in Smash (*cough*Earthbound*cough*). It may not be much, but it's something.

Also, Sakurai commented on him 4 times, which shows that he might have some level of interest in him.

But hey, don't take my word for it.

If Smash 4 has to have a rep from Sqare Enix, then it should be Sora, because he doesn't have a ridiculous amount of fan-boys.
Why does no one suggest Crono? I mean, his game got a re-release for the DS, for crying out loud!

Well, it's either him, or Chocobo.

SMRPG is not the only game that got a re-release on the Virtual Console so it is not anything special.

Yes, those people will know Geno exists... and they will recognize that Geno is not important to the whole Mario franchise since Geno doesn't appear in Mario spin-off games... so they would wonder why the hell is Geno doing in Smash if he is not even one of the faces of the Mario franchise.

Well, so much for that, then. They wouldn't know that he's symbolic of the Nintendo/Square alliance that was made back in the day, either.

Oh well. :ohwell: It would've been nice to see how pimped-out Geno's look would've been in Smash...

I mean, seriously, just look at what Pit's design went through between the 1980s and now.

Anyway, new subject. Let's try to settle on the ideal title for the next Smash. The ones that I thought of are the following:

Super Smash Bros. Showdown
Super Smash Bros. Clash (it would make a neat, subtle reference to Mario Clash, I believe ;) )
Super Smash Bros. Tussle
Super Smash Bros. Rumble
Super Smash Bros. Chaos
Super Smash Bros. Collide
Super Smash Bros. Fight
Super Smash Bros. Duel

Well, that's all I got.

Geno is not symbolic of the Nintendo/Square alliance back in 1996. Super Mario RPG, the game itself, is the real symbol of that alliance. It is called Super Mario RPG, not Super Geno RPG.

a) Lucas. Reconsider your point.

b) That's true, but it's highly likely that Square didn't want the character in due to being so unknown. What I did get from this point (which is valid) is that Square Enix must not care to increase Geno's popularity.

c) Two of the best games Nintendo ever created for their system, mind you.

d) Pics or it didn't happen

Crono would be great if Geno doesn't cut it. Sora? HELL NO. He has more fangirls than Geno has fans in general.

If the game is symbolic, everything in the game is symbolic, including characters. The name is quite irrelevant.

Chrono would be okay, I guess.

Edit: Well, if characters from SMRPG are symbolic, then we already got three of them in Smash. Mario, Peach, and Bowser. At least those three are some of the faces of the Mario franchise. Geno is not one of the faces of the Mario franchise.

But see, while they may symbolic, they were not original characters created for the purpose of the game. Characters like Geno, Mallow, Boshi and the Axem Rangers were. Also, there are only four true faces to the franchise: Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser, all of whom were already accepted into brawl. So ****, it's time to include characters from the Mario series who AREN'T faces for the franchise. Characters such as Paper Mario, Bowser Jr/Shadow Mario, and Geno.

Geno is not a good face of the Mario franchise. If we are going to add characters who aren't faces of the Mario franchise, at least pick the characters who are recurring and play major roles in several Mario games like Toad and Bowser Jr. Geno was only in one game and he is not a recurring major character.

Toad and Bowser Jr. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Geno

I prefer toad over anyone.his playstyle would be fun. he would have bad jumps, but he would be as fast as captain falcon. he could pluck out teammates who are stuck in the ground. this would make toad a valuabble character in SSB4. and mabye alot of people will main him. this time, toad won't leave his bazooka at home. I will have fun using toad!

I don't really think that Toad even uses a bazooka in the Mario games (unless I'm mistaken). It was a throw-away quote in SMRPG, for all intents and purposes.

It would be neat to play as him, though. It's too bad that he jumps like ****.

For those thinking about the whole "Peach's neutral B move" issue, there's always Toadsworth to replace Toad. He should be able to fulfill his duty of protecting Peach, for once (and, well, prove himself useful period :chuckle: ).

throw away quotes are like loop holes for me. and besides, Toad + bazooka= epic win
toad may sucks at jumping, but he will have second place for running speed.
