I agree they probably won't change it.

Any new topics???
How about the matchup system I mentioned a few times earlier?

I'm thinking that each character is one of these four types of fighters,: Air (ex. Pit, Meta Knight, and Jigglypuff), Anti-Air (ex Samus, Yoshi, and Link), Ground (ex. Bowser, Ganondorf, and Donkey Kong), and all-around characters with no particular strength or weakness (ex. Mario).

As you can probably figure out, the matchups are made in a system similar to rock paper scissors. Ideally, here would be the match ups:

Air characters can beat ground 6/10, anti-air 4/10, air 5/10, and all-around 5/10. The others can be figured out from here.

Here are the definitions I have right now:

Air: Characters that have some mechanic for staying in the air such as multiple jumps, gliding, or floating. Naturally, these characters have the strongest aerials, put weakest ground attacks.

Anti-Air: These characters do not have the greatest jump heights (save Samus), so the fight is brought to them one way or another. These characters have tether attacks, and may have projectiles that can hit the air characters. These characters have the most useful specials for any situation.

For example, Link can use Bombs and Arrows against air characters and keep ground characters at bay. The Gale Boomerang is another long range weapon which can be used to bring the fight to him. His recovery acts a get-off-me attack against ground characters.

Ground: These characters have average jumping height, have the strongest ground attacks, and have the fastest and slowest characters typically.

All-around is simply a mix of the three.

Never mind, then. Some people usually like debating about if Basic Brawl is going to be fixed or not. I mean it's just god awful.

But seriously, if anyone has a better topic...

That's a very interesting concept, but would these match-ups affect the game in any way? Or is it just a set-up?

Well, it would affect moves and movesets to a degree for each character. Ultimately, it's to give characters strengths and weakness to help make them balanced.

Can you give me an example of how that would work?

Also, pull out Meta Knight and it could be foolproof.

Let's see. Meta Knight is at is strongest when he's in the air, right? Well, when he's on the ground, his moves are not as fast on the ground which is where anti-air characters like Olimar can use their tethers to bring him down and Meta Knight is at a disadvantage.

However, MK can use his Dimensional Cape only once in the air as a dodge. If not used properly, Anti-Air or characters with anti-air characters can eat him up, but his Mach Tornado acts as a get-off me move, but it stays in place. He can also use his Up Smash (which has limited knockback) to bring the opponent back into the air for slaughtering.

Also, when he can no longer jump, he has to strategize when it comes to fighting on the ground as Ground characters will eat him due to poor strength, poor knockback, and average speed.

The bad thing about that is MK usually spends all of his time ****** in the air already. But at least it could fix his spammable dsmash.

Otherwise it seems like a pretty interesting idea.

What about character move sets?

OK, I'll start w/.......Krystal

B: Gatling Gun, She can run around but faces the same direction and shoots rapid fire out of a gatling gun like in Assault and it lasts as long as Ivysaur's Bullet Seed.

B<>: Staff Shot, Holds out her staff (from Star Fox Adventures and shoots a random missile, Ice or Fire.

B^: Staff Boost: Charges like Fox and then hold her staff below her head w/ her feet in the air and it shoots a small trail of blueish fire that hurts enemies as well as her flying body.

Bv: She pulls out a Grenade from Star Fox Assault and carries it unlit thrown, hold B while she's holding it to charge up for more distance. (Explodes after carrying for a while like Link's, but a bigger explosion.

FS: Sauria's Revenge, She either flys around on that pterodactyl thing or rides Tricky (can't decide), both the same, she rides and then can press A to swing her staff, whoever she's riding does damage when they hit somebody.

Whatdaya think?

Not bad, holds true to the Starfox series. The FS idea is good, but if she somehow falls off the course, she should be able to jump off of whoever she's riding.

I'm glad you like it. As for Meta Knight, he's supposed to be strong in the air because he's an Air character. Now, there's a way to get him down to the ground.

Anyway, what do you think other characters would be? I think Peach would be an air character, Sonic a ground character, Ivysaur an Anti-Air character, and Marth as an All-Around.

These should be your air chars: Peach, Pit, Meta Knight, Charizard, Yoshi, Jigglypuff, Kirby, and possibly Wario.

Not bad. I would change the Down Special to Quake where you can adjust the distance where it strikes. In other words, the longer you hold B, the farther the attack goes.

As for your FS, I think she should ride Tricky, but you can ram with B.

Not quite sure if Yoshi should be an Air character. If you give his tongue grab the distance and features of a tether attack like Olimar's, Yoshi could be a good Anti-Air character, but his ADA would have to be nerfed.

The next game's waiting room probably won't have all that much to do besides the sandbag. As it is, you're really not supposed to spend that much time in there as it is, and the only reason you should be stuck in there is due to bad connections, which would be the real thing to work on. Quite frankly, the sandbag is good enough, though I agree you should be able to grab that friggen sandbag. .
Well I only wanted there to be so much to do in the waiting room only because there might be many, many rooms created, so sometimes, people can take REALLY LONG to join matches, so instead of just continuosly fighting Sandbag in the waiting room, now you can do so much more. Also, you still can fight Sandbag because he's an item, so you could set him out just like in the Training mode. Only difference would be that a CPU or controlled player will be there as well.

Yoshi should have DEFINITELY had a tether. He'd probably shoot right up in the tier list.

It's strange that he wasn't given one. Sakurai gave Zamus one, but he forgot the one character who needed it the most.

Of course he did. He's quite lazy and obviously cares only about the newcomers, not the vets. ¬_¬

As I Link main, I am naturally quite pissed at Sakurai. Link and many other characters needed a lot of fixes, but didn't get any attention. And yet Sakurai made it perfectly clear that the newcomers should be dominant.

I say her Down Smash could be the Quake that works like Lucario's

and about Sakurai, ya he made Kirby right? or was it that Miyamoto made him and wanted him yellow and Sakurai said "No he pink."?

Don't you mean it would work like Charizard's?
Kinda a mix of both, she would twirl the staff when charging and shove it in to the ground and, y'know when Luc releases there's this little kind of quake that hurts people on top of him and his hands hit people next to him?, well that's kinda what it would do but the effects of Charizard's.
The animation of Lucario's and the effects of Charisard's. Kinda.
