Awww, I would be dead from old age by then.I would predict a 2012-2013 release for SSB4
Bad luck. Maybe there's Smash in the arterlife (If you're atheist hope for an earlier release).Awww, I would be dead from old age by then.
That would be EPIC.There should be a stage in Smash 4 that involves fighting on top of a train for the majority if the battle (like Slash Beast's stage from Megaman X4,).there's also supposed to be a train battle (or at least a battle against a train) on Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
lmao. Hell hath no fury.(If you're atheist hope for an earlier release).
Great idea! What do people think about Trophies (not of the Assist variety)? Who should get a trophy that didn't have one in Brawl? Should the trophies have some practical application?
This is extremely ulikely, and would take forever to program, but I like the idea:
Working in a similar way to stickers, you could associate two trophies with a character before the battle. All trophies would have an AT effect (they wouldn't all necessarily have a different one. I could tolerate clones here). During the match, you could activate each trophy once. When activated, the trophy would perform its assist trophy effect, and would not be able to be activated again.
Again, highly improbable, but it would present a new spin on ATs and motivate you to collect trophies.
♪ That would be a gimmick that may break the game's balance and won't be played too often. This is a nice idea though, but as you said, it's highly improbable since most fighting games, (or Smash related games), don't really use ideas like this, maybe Jump SuperStar, I haven't really played that game. XD †What do people think about Trophies (not of the Assist variety)? Who should get a trophy that didn't have one in Brawl? Should the trophies have some practical application?

One thing that annoyed me in Brawl was that the trophies were predominantly ripped from GCN games. When you look at Brawl and Melee's list of trophies, you see that Melee had a more diverse selection. There were trophies from different time periods in Nintendo's history and some Japanese exclusives and obscurities. What do people think about Trophies (not of the Assist variety)? I gotta hand it to you, DekuBoy; you came up with a better Punch-Out!! boss than I did. But you were calling Aran Ryan a disgrace to Ireland. I'm guessing you know about his character and personality, which might be why you called him a disgrace.King Hippo. He has the size and strength to be a good boss. Also he's one of the most famous partially because of his role in Captain N. Also Aran Ryan is a disgrace to Ireland. He's sober.
That's like making Dan Hibiki god tier. You know what would be funny? Putting in Glass Joe as a Smash 4 boss and making him difficult to beat.
Well, sometimes he makes a ****load of powerful weapons appear, but other than that, yeah, he's pretty useless. We got the Goldeen of the Assist Trophies already, right? Tingle, anyone?
Wait, sometimes he does something useful, right?

His role in Street Fighter is essentially the same as Pichu's in Melee.

Mother gatting more trophies than Mario isn't right. Admittedly, Mario has a smaller cast of characters, but Mario is Nintendo's main franchise and deserves recognition as such. Remember that trophies don't necessarily all have to be of characters. Also, I noticed you didn't list the ever-popular Dry Bones, or Petey Pirahna.
For SSB4, I want to see a trophy list with the same diversity as Melee. However, there should be a limit on what trophies can and can't get in. Obviously, it was absurd that were so many trophies of Kirby's powerups, but there were barely any trophies for the retro games, MOTHER, and Wario at least.
Above all else, the trophies should at least cover the main characters from each series and the most prominent recurring characters and items. After that, it's pure judgment. Here's a sample of what I'd like to see.

Luigi
Peach
Bowser

I doubt Sakurai does research considering the blatant inaccuracies in Smash, and I'm not talking just about movesets, but music titles and trophy info.um reply to sakurai not knowing mike johnes.

As I said in that post, it was only a sample of an ideal list. Naturally, Mario would get the most. I was just simply listing some right off of my head. Some other Mario ones would include power ups and a trophy for each of the spin-off sports games. Most Mario characters did not come to my head at the time of the post.Mother gatting more trophies than Mario isn't right.
I don't know about Japanese reps, just because I don't. As for WTFs, I support Fawful. He probably doesn't deserve to get in, but he's better than that accursed naked puppet.
Second party games and characters are still owned by Nintendo. Kirby is a second party game. Golden Sun is too. Layton is third party. Is Professor Layton a 2nd or 3rd Party character? I'm fairly certain he's not a full-fledged Nintendo character.
SSB4 probably won't even be announced until then because Sakurai said that the project that him and SORA are currently working on is scheduled to be released sometime in 2011. With that being said, 2014-2015 sounds about right.I would predict a 2012-2013 release for SSB4, so Darkrai might be long gone by then.
