4th in teams with PC losing to M2K/Vidjo in 2 close games in winner's semi finals, and losing to KDJ/Chu 2-3 in a RIDICULOUSLY close last game.

9th in singles losing to PC and chillin.

I'm fairly satisfied, though I could have done better. I was feeling a little under the weather and pretty exhausted on Sunday, but oh well. It was a really fun event.

Though, I did beat Husband right after he beat vidjo. But, I used Marth our first 2 games and Peach the last game against his Sheik.

Please don't spam my thread lots. I mean, atleast ask a serious question or two from time to time. >_<
idiosyncrasies????????

I was referring to your actual habits out of game while you were playing. They're funny.
cort i ddint mean that u couldnt answer the ?. sry if that was implied
I understand, it's just weird to open up your attempt at answering him like that. o_O
I use Z for aerials...is this good or what should I be doing?
Uh... I donno. Z works for aerials the same way A does, so I guess it could work? I prefer A though. I used to use R to do aerials in SSB64.
Teach me how to Marth ditto. Plz?
Visit Mew2King for a week and you'll have your butt ***** inside out in every which way possible and also know every little quirk of every detail of Marth dittos there is. You'll also appreciate the match up a lot more.

As far as stage choices go do you prefer smaller stages like YS and FoD or bigger ones like FD and DL? And vs sheik does is really matter what stage you pick?

I prefer stages with larger sides just because of the dthrow fair combo, it's ridiculously easy and can kill at some silly %s

Also, low ceiling stages are fairly awful as well since Sheik can also dthrow into uair at will, and it hurts just as hard.

I prefer smaller stages with said properties.

i am a total noob in competitive smash and i'm trying to main peach. Can you give me a lil' advice?
Normally I wouldn't bother, but considering you're very new to smashboards then I suggest reading up on all the basics first.

Also, you're about 6 years too late to get into the competitive smash scene. :(

when edgeguarding falco, do u turnip camp? cuz i used to turnip camp or try to downtilt/downsmash when they try to go for the edge but then the falco started going past the ledge and then falling. that being said, i also sometimes get spiked wen i try to edgeguard the side b. is it just a timing thing with the bair? cuz i haven't really gotten to play the falco recently

Turnip camp? >_>

Usually immediately after the hit that sends Falco off the edge I pluck a turnip and attempt to snipe him with it. You then should follow up with either a well time fair fastfallen so you land it near the ledge (if you do it right the hitbox reaches below the ledge a little and can possibly even hit a sweet spotted illusion recovery)

Sometimes I mix it up and dtilt the ledge, because if he misses the sweet spot by even a little the dtilt pops him up and allows you to nair or fair him back out, almost certainly killing him.

His up b recovery, however, is where a well placed turnip would be great. Full jump high and chuck it over if you predict an up b recovery. Otherwise, if he's close to the ledge up b'ing, hit him out of it. Blow the candle out. =P

Bair also would work in a few situations, especially if you fastfall and FC it near the ledge as he's about to recover. Don't try and attempt it off the stage too often because like you've experienced, his over b can spike (if this happens just make sure you haven't used your double jump yet and time a double jump, thus meteor cancelling it). Certain parts of the illusion Falco is completely invincible or not there and other parts he is vulnerable. He's more vulnerable towards the later half of it, atleast from my experience it seems so.

I made this same mistake, but it's good to at least try to get into the competitive scene for experience that can carry over into Brawl. Only certain tech skill will carry over to Brawl, but all smartplaying / mindgame skill can be carried over to Brawl (at least in my opinion).

It's never too late!

lol, the 2nd turnip isn't even necessary really. But hitting with both is pretty satisfying. Thanks.
Nooo, my double turnip edgeguard. ;_; Cort stole it from meeeh. :<
I don't steal things from other people, I make my own shnoz up. =P

I suppose it isn't, but if you want to place very well at tournaments then you should have started 2-3 years ago. >_<

Unless you play Jigglypuff. Just be gay and rest combo and you should make top 2-3 at every major tourny on the WC. Maybe top 9-17 on the EC.

That's because he's too scared to get *****, thus the much lower expected placing. Are you always this stupid or are you making a special effort today?

hi cort wasn't kdj like four or five years late and took the country by storm? anywho I saw pc post somethibg like "you were the the best rival I hope you come back" in the results thread of VLS. is kdj retiring? also did the results surprise you at all I remember you making predictions I hope nothing controversial happened and people deserved what they got.

this past summer my car broke down in connecticut with a giant hole in our engine due to lack of oil a 2003 Corola. we had to stay over night and it turns out PC Chris was twenty minutes away and home in NJ was 2 hours away. would PC be the kind of person to pick up smashers in need? jw ty for your time

also what about mango grinds your gears. do you like the tropical fruit at least?

KDJ has been playing since 2004 at the very latest. He has a buttload of talent, as does Mango (who's only been playing competitively for less than 10 months?) If you compare how long people have been playing to how good they've gotten, you'll notice a particular trend. It's obvious that there are going to be a few outliers.

Don't take my responses so seriously.

Also, PC doesn't have a license or car, he came to VLS with Azen/Chillin/Chu/Janet.

Dark Pch I feel bad for your controller. You look like you're in the game while playing and smash your controller XD It's pretty interesting how you play though.
Cort, what is the approx. damage you can chainthrow fox/falcos with excellent DI? I missed WAY too many chainthrows against the better players. Thanks

Best/favorite Peaches?

Hey Cort! I made a thread for this question but I only got a few replies (one very helpful, though!) and I'm curious what your opinion is, anyway. Who are your favorite Peaches to watch play, both of the ones you've seen in person and online? And who are the best Peach players, if the answer isn't the same?

My top 3 to watch are definitely you, Mikael, and Armada, who all happen to be from different continents. I also really like Doll, Kei, and, more recently, Ryoko (you've got to respect anyone that can pull Toad out and make it work).

By the way, your vids are SO entertaining to watch. I constantly check to see if you've put more up ^_^;; You should totally commentate on some more matches, especially ones of you against a player you actually think is good, because just those 3 you have up have already vastly improved my understanding of professional gameplay. Please.... ;-)

Oh, and thanks for creating that thread. You're awesome, nonpareil!

You can CG them no matter their DI for quite a while, but Fox/Falco escape around 90%? I think there was an informative post about the EXACT specifics somewhere towards the beginning of my thread by Magus.

Uh, I'll sift through and edit all the good posts into my first post sometime tonight. ~_~

Hehe, my inspiration definitely comes from MikeG and KrazyJones. Old school Peaches... if KJ continued to play ever since he started and attended all large tournaments, he'd be RIDICULOUSLY good today, easily the best Peach player ever.

I'm gonna be a little busy for the next couple of hours, so I'll finish answering this later.
