1) i didnt say anything about my actual beliefs. they're irrelevant to the fact that his argument was not a good one. whether i accept his position or not doesn't matter because it doesn't impact the actual discussion.

2) obviously i meant accepted as the international melee standard.

This is horribly inaccurate. We claim to be a country founded on basic christian principals, which, while technically true, is very misleading. In this day and age, people only claim to adhere to religious principals because in the mind of the general populace "religious=moral". This is a logical fallacy in of itself, but I won't go into that.

The point remains, American politicians try to use God as a scapegoat or platform to get more votes, and claim that we have some religious guidance. When in reality, it's a double sided hypocrisy. We do it, not only to sate the incredibly *****y religious groups that can cause a lot of trouble for any up and coming politician, but to convince ourselves we're doing the right thing.

The point being no one would ever ever ever ever even bring in God in any politics here, if they did they'd get laughed at and not get a single vote. The difference is clear, hence why I'm right.

2) what? "international melee standard"? usa is obviously going to continue playing ntsc for practical reasons, and europe will continue playing PAL. duh.

america isnt run by religion. it has a seperation of church and state. some states try to defy this(namely utah) but that state sucks.

My original thoughts on this.

This Topic is unfair because these boards are 90% North American so it will be an us vs Them thread......and they are waaaaay outnumbered so its kinda ghey. The unbiased truth is Neither version is fair at all. Sheik, Marth, Falco, Fox, & especially puff have unfair advantages over pretty much Everyone in NTSC. In PAL the only difference is Peach joins the list because her worse MU's are nerfed and Marth falls from the list.
