i get more smash in at syphers because there are just wayyy too many people at chu's XD...
lol and i suck at the game so i just need to get owned a couple times and slowly improve and everyone at chu's gets tired of destroying me every round
but I would be willing to go to both i guess.. but .what do foy and matt say...i look forward to getting owned by them

The problem with changing the date to Friday or Sunday would be that MattDotZeb and Foy wouldn't be able to attend fully...they're coming Friday and leaving on Sunday. I already have my crew coming, and with Foy and Matt there would be a total of 6 people there if nobody else shows up. Parenthesis and SOJ are pretty much guaranteed to come also.
Go to Chu's if you feel the least bit inclined to, I'm sure his tournament will be larger and will have better players. This is not going to be cancelled though, I've planned and worked too much to cancel it at this point.

Well, even if you're not changing the date, I'm definitely attending (assuming I don't suddenly develop plans on the 29th). Chu's tourney gets a litlle... crowded.

Hmm, didn't know about this before I saw Chu's. I think I'll be going to this. And this would be good practice for the UMBC tourney. You might want to put that in the title Max :3.

That would make a lot of sense. I remember that at least at the Chu biweekly I went to a lot of people wanted to play a either brawl or melee, and all the TVs were being used for the other game. Might solve some of those problems if there were two different tourneys. Maybe you and Chu should try and coordinate on this kind of thing Sypher?

If, indeed, the TVs at Chu's were taken by Barlw when you went, it'll probably end up happening again. I guess hosting two different games at two different places is a solid solution.
P.S. - Looking back, I realize that it's happening that way whether or not the hosts plan it that way.

no one knows me but i can totally show up for this, i can bring a cube if you have extra TVs (dunno how you'd end up with extra tvs though, so probably not neccesary)

That's the problem. TVs are a lot harder to get than gamecubes are. I end up having to bring my entire setup and I'm always scared that it'll get damaged.

As for TVs, I have 4 that we can use. krnred225 was going to try and bring his TV, but it operates in progressive scan, meaning that it can't take in composite input without having to upscale it. He has component cables for his Wii, but no component GC cables.
...if you don't know what that means, don't worry, it just means that to use his TV, we have to use a special cable that will only fit into the Wii. Since he doesn't have access to his Wii, I have to request that someone bring a Wii. We can't use his nice TV without one =(
If people could bring some GCs/Wiis and some game discs, that'd be great. I'll make a list for reference. BloodyPuppy,L@wl, and No_Face, if you could just confirm that you're going to bring a system+game I'll update this list.

As for coming late, BloodyPuppy, that's fine. The tournament should *technically* start at 1:00, but I'm pretty lenient about delaying for people arriving late so long as it isn't rediculous. We'll wait for you to show up before we start. Just give me a call when you're on your way. The only thing is that I can't guarantee you time to 'warm up' or what have you, but we'll see how the people there feel.

I talked to SOJ a while ago, and he's coming and bringing a GC, so that completes 5 setups.
Based on who i've talked to and who's posted in this thread, here are the possible entrants. I'm sure that not everybody on this list will come though. This is kind of a "expect the worst" types of things. Not that you guys suck or anything
SypherPhoenix, MattDotZeb, Foy, Ikagi, krnred225, thesage, Parenthesis, SOJ, Boss, CK, Korn, Rei, BloodyPuppy, No_Face, g-regulate, Redd, Shinku (FalconPunch?, Wuss?)
Note: Parenthesis can't make the tournament afaik, but he'll be coming later.
Note 2: thesage probably can't come because he's having relatives over.
That's 17 (19) people...if we get another setup, we could use 4 for singles (covering 8 people) and 2 for doubles (covering 8 people) when the tournament isn't going on. 6 setups covering 16 people...good deal. I'm sure that at LEAST one person on the list isn't going to be coming, so I think if we got another setup we could balance everything properly, even if more people showed up.
I still need to get in contact with FalconPunch and see if there's a way he can get here. I told Wuss about this a long time ago, but I'll have to get in contact with him again to see if he can still come. Maybe FP and Wuss can set something up to come together, idk.
