Was this in the movie when we saw it in theaters? I really don't want any surprises!

Edit: Hot tub was on in another scene!! FFFUUUU!!! This is a directors cut!! Omg!! If some stupid crap happens!!!

lol I didn't see a baby on the street at all, that must be some crazy version of it I'll never watch because the slight changed creeped the HELL outta me!!

@ Dr. Brawl: It wasn't really scary changes, just creepy changes and they connected to each other. And the ending was slightly different so I was like wtf while watching it with my gf. It kinda felt like I was watching the movie for the first time since I never knew what to expect. Even some of the original scenes were very slightly changed.

I don't think there's much more in store for me with smash tbh. Next year I go to college and I'll be really busy with that, plus the smash scene has been pretty bland lately.

agreed with this, been saying for the past halfa year that the scene is dying and lacks hype like it used to.

By the end of 2011, average NY/NJ regionals gonna have like 40 or so people d:

Humbug.

MLG dropped us and no upcoming tournies look bad but as always we'll rise again. Same happened with Melee. I came into Melee 5 years late and 5 years later its still running strong.

Just not that many good locals around for it (I think)

I beg to differ. Smash has its rises and falls. And even Melee never fell fast in the 10 years its been out so I don't think Brawl would in 3 to 4 years. We'll see.

long read warning beware

there is one huge factor between melee and brawl's community+game. Melee has a very hype game when it came out, and because it was the first highly competitive smash game, not much was established, many things were dynamically changing, and most importantly, it was a great spectator game, people who watched melee could see what was going on and be impressed, any level of player could see the skill exuded form players, analyze who is better and it would be hard to look away form good melee matches. These aspects allowed melee to find new members who were interested in the game to replace players that quit, and the rate of players quitting was not that high, at least nto compared to brawl.

Brawl on the other hand got hurt from the start by melee players who bashed the game for its slow campy game play among other things, and then potential community members bandwagoned haters from melee, which has given brawl, both the game and community, a bad stigma from the start. Couple that with the fact that brawl matches are not interesting because most people play slow (even a fast player like anti can't play as fast as most melee pros) creates a game that isn't good for spectators and has trouble gaining interest from anyone who wasn't hyped for brawl. As a result, brawl players leave consistently, and considering how much more immature the brawl community is, many people bandwagon and either leave as well, or stay and troll others who have some interest in brawl, causing them to want to leave.

Also, for brawl, another aspect that melee didn't have is brawl's wifi, while wifi should of helped the community, it only made it worse because not only did brawl and melee have a split community, but IRL and wifi became a split and hostile community, where many players would insult wifi and call players trash if they went IRL, reducing motivation to enter tournaments IRL. This effectively contributed to trolling and once again, destroying brawl interest.

TL;DR, brawl will be dead soon because its community+boring game play destroyed it from the start.

EDIT: **** you keitaro for editing your post xD

Dabuz- Interests in smash fades and comes back like all games. It certainly won't die. Wyatt as well as myself were just pointing out priorities. It does strike me that locals get smaller, but that happens then more people arise in the community again. It's a repetitive cycle.

This. A good amount of people here are young/don't have jobs. They can't afford to spend $30 + gas + food for tournies every week.

Guys, I found like a regional size venue on LI, it's called the VFW. I might try to host a large tourney there, are people interested? It costs a few hundred dollars to rent it out so it'd be $10 venue fee.
