It's funny. I always say "N J N Y" if I'm just saying the letters, but if I'm saying the whole name, I say "New York New Jersey."

I approve of combined rankings. Top 15 (makes it even more competitive because both states are even rivaling each other to hold more seats.)

It's probably because the ending K sound is easier to move off of than the "ee" sound from Jersey. For the letters, it's easier to go from J to something than Y to something.
