35% is not that bad.

Besides people who wont win should not complain now should they ~^.^~
who are you and where have you placed to talk trash :dizzy:

i doubt i would win money, but im not supportive of giving that much up (30 bucks T_T), and then even if i do win, not getting s*** back.

This was something that a bunch of people actually wanted. So even though the 27th will be the 1st time that it will be considered a weekly, Gaming World at that time would have run 4 straight week of Brawl tournaments. In a twist, Taiki=aka Munk and the Zodiac Braves will be guest hosting this event. And even though everyone won't be happy, I expect everyone that does come will have fun and enjoy themselves(like always so far).

See ya guys there. Peace

And so do I, and at least in NJ Orion definitely isn't a nobody.

But North Jersey isn't known too much to the rest of the NJ smash scene so it's common for people to not know each other there.

Depending on who's going to this tournament and the one in south jersey will make my decision on whether I'm coming to this or not.

Edit: ZB?? Oh!! The compitition should be tougher than the south jersey tourney so I'll most likely come here but we'll see.

Hey Munk is this still accurate? It's round-robin if there are too few teams, and double elim. if there are at least 8, right...

Taiki this tournament your in charge and you make the final decisions, but because of the low turnout in doubles two weeks in a row. Both weeks were actually Round-Robin is was the only thing I could think of doing with small turnouts. Double Elim makes no sense if you don't have enough people. But if you wanna do singles thats cool, just letting you know what I actually did the two previous weeks.

My mom once said if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all, LOL, it's an old saying but my moms old. But it seems like people just wanna argue for the heck of it.

The fact that you have to ask that question is the answer. Like you, i'm a nobody in the smash world...
im the only man to 2 stock m2k with captain falcon in a money match :psycho:

but seriously, im not that good or anything, but ive placed pretty decently and im always trying to improve. my low post count doesnt mean that im inexperienced in tournaments, ive been to my share in NJ and NYC.

I think ill stick to inuis tournaments, even if the prices could be the same, the people are definitely cooler =D

Two strikes AND two bans?

Also, 35% is kinda thick for the quality of the venue. Just sayin'. It's not an atrocious place, but if things pick up, it'll get kinda tight, seating is limited, set-ups are limited, etc. It's not a garbage venue by far, but I think there are a few issues that need to be sorted out before I can comfortably attend tournament at this location weekly before I agree to pay more than 5 dollars for the venue.

If 3 dollars is going to make or break you. As a one time thing just so you can check out the crowd that we get. For any of my $15 tournaments you wanna come I'll cover the other 3 dollars. Just remind me that your blu link, so I guess I'll see you soon then.

I may go depending on a few things.

Doubles changed to 10 dollars, as most tourneys would have the doubles combined higher than singles, yet per person is lower (Attracts people to play doubles)

I'd love for either PS2 removed or add in some more stages to balance it out. (Personal reasons really)
This is not needed at all, it's more me whining than anything else.

I'll return posts later on.

This is far too expensive to attend on a weekly basis. Sorry.

To me, it's all the same really. It 'counts for less' in the rankings or to some people, but it's still a tournament thing.
In the end, it's just a guaranteed (nothing is nowadays.. but more than likely they'll keep it up) 40 minute drive to a tourney.

I'll attend Inui's or other's "Large" tourneys of course. Though, if it's someone else's minor tourney (The one you had last week) I'll gladly drive 40 minutes twice over two hours twice.

No really, I quit.

Dan's post was an actual valid concern, if you're wishing for a decent turnout to have the price lowered while still retaining a good amount for the venue holder itself his post could be considered constructive. I mean last show was 22? Not bad but not exactly awesome either.

I like things the way they are, but I would be happier with a slightly lower percentage taken out of the pot. I really liked this venue, though I suppose it could get cramped if it ever had a BIG turnout. I'll try to make it to as many of these as possible

Hey Snakeee, appreciate the kind words cuz you don't see that around here. But I've been taking it into consideration while I learn the community a bit more. But I've really noticed somethings, if singles is $5 and you have a venue of $5 it basically comes out to be basically singles at $10 and the place taking 50% of the pot. Now I've seen some places do better, but I've seen places do much worse.

Gamingworld, 35% is way too much to take out of the pot, it is far move than average

I've been to a LOT of tourneys, 35 is way too much

Wow, it's the famous M2K blessing my forums with a presence. You know I'll get a couple 100 more views now, LOL.

I've been looking at the places that host tournaments and seen the ones run by people that don't play take more from the pot. I mean I get it, but when I see and have been told the same, having a venue $5 and singles at $5 it would be the same thing as taking 50%. But no one says anything to them. I mean it does seem like it is the better players that have the beef, and any tourney that I don't have posted up right now I have been thinking of dropping it a little bit. But why does no one say anything to those other places them?

We do. They all are just too greedy to give a $hit about what the players want, which seems to be the case for every store venue.
